Matman,

The Gelande chassis is the one RC4WD sells to fit the Defender 90 body. It does fit pretty well, but it's not perfect.

The Gelande chassis itself is not the best quality in my opinion. Refer back to my build thread of the D90 + Gelande, and all the parts I changed.

Lots of photos there as usual...

That said, I have seen many people modify the CC01 chassis to fit the Defender body, so it CAN be done. Search Youtube for cc01 defender 90.

I think you just need to extend the wheelbase with a link suspension, and get a longer driveshaft.

Then just find a way to attach the body.

Cheers,

Skottoman

Looks like i may have screwed up , I got the D90 land rover . But it may not fit the CC-01 chassis ?.

I may have to get the right chassis for it ....... :( Gelande kit i think , not sure what one ... GRR .

Not a happy chappy ..

Think you'll be ok . As far as i know it will fit the CC-01 as long as you build it in long chassis option . Think as dave said that you need longer links and a longer prop shaft but thats all .

I'm sure RC4WD will allow you to amend order - it was only placed yesterday ?

I really wanted the land rover body , More than the CC-01 kit .I just like the look of the body , more than anything else .Must be the NZ & English coming out of me :D . .Ok , so there is hope then . I have got the junfac 4 link kit & drive shaft for the CC-01 .

I'm not positive the Junfac links and driveshaft are long enough. You might want to look into that. But, like i said, many people have managed to do it!

Second that re the CC01 links/shaft. Think you'll need to stretch the chassis a good few mm to get it to fit the Landy wheelbase, am sure there's a thread on here somewhere. You could try dropping Wyoming a pm, he'll deffo know this sort of stuff ;)

Anyhow last couple of days I have:

1. Sold some bits and bobs and raised some funds to a couple of sheets of carbon weave (see 3).

2. Sent the Technigold out of my 959 project for a refurb courtesy of TC member Igbandy.

3. Bought a jolly nice Astute from TC member F2Stu. Will be going carbon chassis on this one (again).

4. Almost got the Jero back up and running, just waiting on some M4 rod to make a new link for the steering set up and then we're good to go.

5. Had a visit from my sparky to price up running some power and lighting out to the garage so I can see what I'm doing of an evening now that I'm outdoors. Got myself a nice bench with a slidey drawer, and have somewhat organised my stuff. After taking this pic I fixed a load of battens in the roof tresses and then stored various baby/kid/garden/golf paraphenalia out of the way so I've now got a really nice big space B) Need to bring the 959 box indoors so it doesn't get ruined.

It might be well worth the trouble of clading the walls with insulation boards . It will get really clod and damp in there during the winter mate . At least add some heating once you have power .

It's not the strangest thing I've ever done with a Tamiya chassis but it's a strong second place. It has great ground clearance with oil filled shocls all around. 3300 kv brushless 4 pole with a waterproof ESC. It runs great and top speed should be around 40. I haven't got a clue on a body for it since the original looks really odd on it. It's basicly leftovers from the last few things I've been working on. I'm thinking either tire chains or studs for it.

I have done more to my latest project, a Porsche 936. The body was sourced from IBIFTKH (ta chap) and I have repaired a few little bits and painted it in white and then clear coated. Now started adding the decals, very happy with progress...

Nice curves BD

Tonight i finally managed a few coats of clearcoat on the Monster Beetle shell, not much more to do so that'll be another project off the build desk !

Browsed eBay and found nothing i wanted to buy - now that makes a change lol!

Today I came up with a solution of what to do with the hole in my Grasshopper II bodyshell that was originally intended to accommodate the resistor heat sink for the MSC, but is redundant now that ESCs are in common usage:

So far today I ordered yet another load of parts for projects. Modellbau-Siedel so far excellent - great prices , reasonable shipping and my order was despatched within an hour of placing the order.

Tonight i'm hoping to progress the Monster Beetle rebuild - must sneak off to the rc shed, must sneak off to the

RC shed

Made a front shock tower support for the DT-02 out of some rod ends and a piece of M3 threaded rod.

Hopefully prevent this from happening again,

That will do the job mate . Done the same on a Blitzer .

Over the last week I ran all the cars and it took a week to do it. Between charging them up and running time there was at least 20 hours involved. Some weren't run much, just a check up of sorts but it made me realize the collection is just too big. I've put a self imposed stop to any more until they are back to a reasonable number..There will be a few passed along;

The modified hornet really runs great but needs the suspension softened up and still no ideas on a body for it.

This evening I reinstalled the front axles on my DT02 Sand Viper. Last week I nicked them from the Sand Viper in order to finish building my Mad Hopper which, having been based on a Mad Bull, came with front axles that were too long for standard buggy wheels. I have now received my new standard-length axles for the Mad Hopper, so the Sand Viper is back on 4 wheels!

Managed to get the Monster Beetle decalled last night - what i thought would be a 30-40 minute job ended up over one and a half hours, must realign my projects timings !!

Made some mistakes on a body that is meant for a shelfer. This was due to burning the midnight oil so I am just beating myself up today. I'm sure you all know the feeling.
