@BuggyDad

It's just so finnicky, really needs some heat and pressure to make it stay put. Totally worth it though especially on a plain shell.

I like to have a single malt to hand for such tasks for when the inevitable swear fest starts.. 😎

That tape looks very fine. What width is it?

If the US show piece comes off surly it would have to be a BigMac?

Joking aside though the McCafe style of livery we have in Australia would make an awesome looking rig I think.

Wow you have a pile of Italeri Scania’s? the old 142 was one of my favourites and I lost count of how many I’d built in my youth. I did one in a fictitious livery of a haulage company that a Truck (Lorry back then 😉) mad mate and I dreamt of owning one day.

Could do, although our founder became a pensioner a few years ago and sold the company to an American group called Havi. We don't have the "Big Mac" livery so to speak on our trucks any longer :(.

The times of being the "almost" worldwide exclusive logistic partner for McDonalds has past. We now have loads of customers including McD´s, like KFC, Nordsee, Vapiano, Ikea Restaurants, Pizza Hut and so on.

Yes, the McCafe style is great, the whole McCafe idea came from Australia btw, that's why they have it. I´ve got two old  142´s with the "Big Mac" style here that need rebuilding, ones an artic and the other is the drawbar version.

The old V8´s from Scania are fantastic, ohh the sound they produce with open pipes :D

Some more progress today.. still slow.

The interior floor is not yet glued.. mainly used to align the rear interior deck with the B-pillar as there is no clear indication where to glue the piece.  Going to paint the floor black instead of drab.

I saw this interior floor injection circles and thought this was the back side..  what the heck Tamiya.. why would you put so many circles on the top side?    it’s bad enough the thing is literally a big plastic model with a whole bunch of little pieces.. why not just inject it from the other side..  geez

I don’t see myself sanding all these circles out..

So for today that is all and just enjoyed looking at my finished cars.  :D

Did a bit more of the Super Avante. I can find space for the electronics it’s the wiring that gets in the way especially if you want a driver figure. Anyhow had enough for today so just a couple of photos. Hopefully less is more has worked

The MF01x stadium truck got a new body shell - the 1/14 Midnight Pumpkin. There is a build thread on this, but it's a MF01x with all the spacers removed, cut down to 175 mm wheelbase. This one has TL01 arms, so it's shorter and wider than the regular MF01x.

Anyway, I think it looks quite nice as a stadium truck! I had to modify the wheel arches a little, but I think I've kept it looking close to an actual release. The wider body shell with the flanges helps hide the NiMH stick pack coming out the side.

It might just be smaller size, but it feels very fast. I may have to reduce the steering too as it's a little too jumpy with a 175 mm wheelbase! I might play with some different tires, these are TT racing truck tires, which work well on road, but it's not great on grass.

admittedly did a couple blasts on the Brat body with the neon pink to try and finish it.   Looking at a portable spray booth from Amazon to contain all the paint dust.  A lot of cheap options.

I wondered if you were going to do the cycle wings on the Super Avante like a modern Caterham @Busdriver given your choice of livery. Looks good without them though!

I have no idea what colour mine will be :(.

I hope you have at least taken 5 minutes to have a look at the Alps though seeing as you’ve gone all that way and you’re there 😉

Oh for sure, mate! 😊 I don't get to go "home" very often, so when I do I try to take advantage: there was Skiing, hiking, sightseeing and friends/family time in the Alps along with some RC building, and we now keep the cheerful activities going in the Venice area, while trying to dodge the nasty new omicron variant that is rampant everywhere (we caught a cold but still fine for now).

Didn't have much time for the build, but there is a little progress.

The protective film was peeled off20220114-185307.jpg

...and I've gotten started on the dreaded stickers. The first two or three felt quite traumatic, but it got a little better after, especially with the aid of a hair dryer.

Will stop for today, but am looking forward to doing more tomorrow night.

On a smaller scale... today there was a great sunset, and I just happened to have a Hot Wheels version of the Lancia Delta on me (because who doesn't go around with a Hot Wheels in their pocket ) so I tried to take a couple shots in that beautiful light.

And all of it is easily removable for when I want to go Dragon or Winger mode.

Now, if only it will stop sleeting, I can go for a test drive!

@Busdriver and @Badcrumble it does look like a Caterham.  I think YouTube channel rckicks cut open the Super Avenue canopy to be a semi opened wind screen if you want to push the envelope.

Love the colors.  We don’t have enough British racing green RC cars

Built the ta08, surprisingly with all the tires I have i don’t seem have any touring car tires that aren’t glued to wheels already. So I guess I’m off to by a couple more :D

Knocked out my first TT02 chassis tonight.  Went together fairly well.  Had one or two do-overs.

Pretty much stock except for bearings, CVAs and upgraded prop shaft/joints.  Body will be the 911 Carrera.

Any real need for the motor cover?   I have the switch mounted on the ESC don't need the cover for that.   If anything, it looks like it may trap a little heat.   By design it has what looks like a simple air diverter but I think an aluminum heat sink would probably be more effective.  ?????

Been prepping cars for racing this weekend. Our club is hosting the onroad nationals which is a 3 day event. I wasn't going to enter but my wife convinced me to so I did and had to panic buy new tyres and F1 wings. Tyres should be here tomorrow, if fedex doesnt come through then I'm stuck with old ones as there is no stock in country anywhere.

The TRF102 was due some work. Last time I had it all apart I didn't have the 1060 and 1280 bearings and they were basically siezed. Diff rings and balls have seen better days so new ones in as well. Its in the best shape its been since new (probably better since I have more idea about it than when i built it) so its all ready to go.

The TA07 has had a lot of tinkering so was pretty good anyway, just really needed a clean and I put in a new servo. I have used the TSD99X for years but splashed out on a PowerHD B7 which claims to be .065sec at 6v. Will be interesting to see if faster is better (I prefer faster for offroad). I'll probably end up turning the speed down on the Tx and end up back at where the old one was anyawy.

Friday is practice which should allow a lot of track time so I can get the setup right. That will be important on the F1 as its had a heap of changes since last race day.
