Wow, is that black powdercoated? Everything looks so smooth!

It's all vintage aftermarket parts. Black parts are nylon, Everything else is aluminum. Stock SRB knuckles are polished too. I'm not sure exactly who made the shocks though, but I've got all 3 I need and polished them too!

Nylon SRB parts... Instantly jealous!

Today I also reduced my car from this...

... into this:

The project is not looking as straightforward as I thought, especially after the rear gearbox door broke... I am already mulling the possibility of a 'restoration' thread.

Well i got my junfac stuff today , so i have put it on so i can see if

I can get the land rover D90 body on & i have got it to fit " close " . I just need to move it back 3 or so mil more to get it right .

I also have to get another carbon drive shaft as the CC-01 i got was not long enough . :( .

Here are some pic's .

How i have fitted the 4link .

I will put in some spacers in the 4 link to get the length .

I'm stoked the Junfac pieces made the wheelbase usable with the Land Rover 90!

Too bad about the drive shaft, but I'm sure you'll get that sorted, then onto the build!

I'll be interested to see how you mount the body to the chassis though.

Cheers

Not in a hurry to work it all out , But i have been thinking about the shock's as they do lean back a bit .

Plus as you have said above , the mounting of the body ???? . I'm sure i will find so way to mount it .

Or i could use tape , around the chassis & body :D .

I'm sure no one would notice it .

I got one of ModMax's amazing Undead Ed resin heads. Not quite what I did today as I painted helmet a couple of days ago, the skull yesterday but I have started on the lower jaw.

Not perfect, but I am more than happy with progress so far.

Carried on with my Top Force...

Completely disassembled now.

Sanded and relacquered the chassis plates and shock towers

Cleaned all parts and rebuilt front ball diff (rear tomorrow)

Cleaned and rebuilt cva shocks with new seals and 55wt silicone oil - won't be using these in the rebuild.

Ordered more parts :(

At least by the time I finish this one I'll have enough used parts for a Manta Ray build!

Have you ever tried those super strong magnets? I used them for body mounts on the custom 910 I made. Thet work great and you don't poke holes in the body.

Now that's not a bad idea .

But i am having trouble getting the interior in as it is way to high & i have to cut the floor .

The steering servo is in the way big time :( . The way it is going , I'm going to have too

look at a different chassis , Or get the right one :( at an expensive way to go sadly & it's not Tamiya .

Why oh why !!

Had a rally morning with my son with a TB01, and RS4 Rally and a Kyosho pureten Scooby,, Jakes Scooby performed faultlessly, the Nimh battery I had in the TB01 died within 2 minutes,(off to the recycling centre) and the RS4 needs the gearing upped, so we then spent the afternoon with a paintbrush and a can of compressed air cleaning them up.

Yesterday- Finished the 4x4x4 Blackfoot build . All alloy GMP suspension fitted all round with 100mm adjustable coilover shocks. Massive improvement over the stock setup . :D

I'll say that even with the Gelande chassis, the interior barely fits. It's tight for sure, and so much of a pain to get the body to fit, I try and never take it off. I leave a battery in the truck, and charge it there. These are a struggle for sure, but the end result is quite cool. :D
