Stripped the toy-grade gubbins out of our new boat hull and started working on the paint.

Hello mate , i have a toy grade boat that i'd like to fit decent motors and electrics to . Can you advise me how to wire it so the props still counter steer - ie rudderless . I know i'll need a new ESC - ? or two . It runs twin 380 brushed as standard but its way too slow for my liking .

If you want to keep the rudderless steering arrangement, you'll need two ESCs, one per motor. Depending on the mixing facilities available on your TX, you may also need an onboard mixer. You could also use the Action P94 combined speed controller mixer, which is effectively two ESCs and a mixer combined into a single unit.

I prefer the simple approach with mine though - I simply buy a rudder assembly (Graupner make nice ones), bolt it to the transom and fit a rudder servo. Then both motors can run of a single ESC, and I can hold more speed in the turns as I can keep both motors running at full-throttle.

went to the Air & Drift event at the Schweighofer store in Austria . The event was more air orientated but still most of the vehicle manufacturers were there . The Tamiya stand was a a bit of a disappointment, although i did get a chance to play with the TA06 and the XV01, but the best of the best was playing with a Kyosho Scorpion XXL , thats one beast of a buggy and it looks soo goood . if a kit version appears ill seriously consider it .

Unpacked and opened my MFC-01 and other parts from Stella (Typically sublime packaging as always)

Was very surprised at the size of the MFC box, and majorly overwhelmed when I opened it up to check contents

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff in there right?! You won't use all of it, but it's all there if you need it.

You're gonna have fun putting all this stuff in...

Cheers,

Decided to sticker up my battered Lunchbox... dunno if I really like it yet, but it looks more complete this way, haha.

Really need to get myself going to paint up a shelf body for it, the one I use for running looks like it's been through a war and I only got this model a few weeks ago :)

Oh, and this is what it looked like before, taken just a few hours ago after I came back from the latest run :D

Running is on hold until sometime next week... lost a wheel nut and don't have any spares any more, need to pick up some M4 nuts at the hardware store, too bad it's my only r/c at the moment. Can't wait until the FF01 I won on the evil auction site comes in :)

Nothing from my postman today so progress has been somewhat piece meal..

Gave the airbrush a very good outing on the Wild Willy rebuild project - ahhhh Bisto, nah thats thinner   :unsure::wacko:

on the Top force project..

added the spacer posts to the chassis as well as the alloy servo mounts and new Acoms AS-17 servo

built the new alloy motor mount and fitted along with 16tooth pinion to the Reedy motor

discovered the motor is a Mr H's Ultra series, which translates into a triple wound 12 turn - explains why it spins up so nicey on a battery pack :D

Took the discarded Top Force parts and started to reassemble them into small units of a Manta Ray - not sure whether I'll actually buy the necessary bits to make another 'Ray or just sell them off

Did the shopping, cooking and ironing; then took dog for a ten mile walk to get out of the spray mist

Rebuilt a 1/10 2wd Slash with a 3s ESC and 3000kv brushless motor, rebuilt the gearbox in my SCX10 Recovery truck (siezed bearings, it's as smooth as butter now),

Stuck a 9t Ezrun into one of my Blitzer Beetles (way too quick and it won't last long so looking for a 13t motor instead)

Been swapping around motors and pinions in my HPI RS4 Rally to get the gearing and temps where I like them, think I have it sorted with a 21x2 LRP motor and a 21t pinion,

I'm going to spend today getting my Dingo, my Wraith and my SCX10 axled, Wraith caged Bronco ready for the Scale Nationals at Bracken Rocks next weekend.

Allrite Feller . The Blitzer gearbox will handle the power no problem . If you worried about crashing you might want to do the mod i did . Get a couple of buggy champ bumpers . Trim them to fit both front and rear of the blittzer . Use the rear most gearbox through hole to make up a brace - see my Belray Blitzer for a how to . The rear then acts as a skid / wheelie bar . The champ items are far stronger than the std blitzer plastic items and have saved mine from some major crashes .

Could you post some pics of your crawlers?

Today I swapped out a 4300kV full size "380 can" motor from a M04M Miata into a new Sand Master build and will put a new 3900kV super short sized "380 can" into the Miata. Sand Master also gets the 35A EZRun ESC from the Miata while the Miata gets a new smaller 25A EZRun ESC. Hopefully both cars will perform as I predict with more balanced power. Other than that I installed some big bore shocks for the Sand Master build. Oh I also ordered a Tamiya 1st generation RX-7 body for fitting onto a yet undecided M chassis....maybe another M04L or a new M06.

Bought six spray cans of paint, enough to handle my three next projects (I hope): one PS-22 Green, one PS-12 Silver, two PS-1 White and two PS-34 Bright Red. Did not get to run my car at home before I head back out to school, but with any luck I can try again during the holiday season...

Boat project II continues:

We received a delivery from Modelsport:

This allowed me to finish the paint:

The aesthetics are almost done. A few more decals to go, then to turn my attention to the running gear.

Trimmed and bent some aluminium sheet that will be the side panels for my Mad Viper.

And I still have got to fight the urge buying either the HPI Blitz or Traxxas Slash 2WD short course truck. Slash looks cool and has so realistic but comical body roll, while I assume the Blitz is the better performer but with less ground clearance and less pleasant looking bodyshell (not as much my taste as the Slash body).

if you want a SC , get a kyosho . but choosing between the slash and blitz , the blitz definitely , much better performance out of the box.
