Good eye @Badcrumble   Was going to wait until I finished before writing up a build in TC but work has taken over and not sure when I will complete the car.

This will be a Porsche 911 RSR safari. Still trying to decide if I use stock Martini livery which came with kit or one I picked up from MCI. Next steps is decals, Talley cockpit, install light pods, add LED.  Also thinking about adding a roll cage.  Mixed on rally mud flaps

I redid the windshield decal as I did not like Tamiya’s tint decal..took me a while as I trial and errored a few different vinyls.. this one is automotive BMW vinyl in rich glossy black.

Also started the masking for the tray.  :D

Will work on it some more during my breaks.

@Willy iine Are you thinking about painting the sides and leaving the bottom clear to see the carbon deck?

I like it!

I have one of those bodies in the loft. I had grand plans for a chassis that could switch between the RSR and 934 shells before I found out that they have different wheelbases. D'oh!

Yes I am.   Not my idea, but borrowed from @Sgt.Speirs  :D

Your Porsche paint looks solid and rich!

UPDATE.. Got the sides painted..

Today I are been mostly turning my B64 into a Beetle.

20220215_204214

Truggy conversion and Kamtec shell, plus a big wing because RC me is 10. 😁

And also finally got round to mounting (not very well) onto my DT-03 the Capri body I've been working on for weeks, and still not entirely finished.

Got the wheels done for my SD1 project. Removed the tyres using boiling water, sprayed them firstly in a coat of white, then silver. Ordered new tyres for them, HPI "Vintage" road tyres. Low profile just wont look right.

thanks @Badcrumble and @Willy iine  it may be hard to see but those are Sand Blaster tires on the stock rims.   Perfectly fills the wheel arches.

correction: sand blaster tires

This is as far I got today.. not bad considering I was in meetings most of the day.  :D  Next step calls for ScrewBag C so decided a good spot to stop.

Definitely have a Knipex tool for the ball joints for scratch free easy install.

Nice Baja buggy.  Love the matching wing. Gathering parts to do something similar myself. One project at a time 😁

@Willy iine correct.  Not a perfect fit but appears to work.  Had to trim more of the rear arch to clear tires

Love my knipex tool. Got my eye on a mini one for rc. Bit pricey though.

Love this. It reminds me a little of the old Tamiya rally cars from way back, that bit of extra ground clearance gives it a look like it can do anything. And for some reason a 911 does look "right" in rally guise.

Yeah, it's one of those must-have tools.  I use to 'borrow' one from my garage tool case, but just got another one dedicated to my RC shop since it's such a fantastic tool.

No need to apologize; I was just wondering if we were talking about the same tires.

Regeared and retested the M4 today, a calm day here in Orkney strangely, while the south is covered with weather warnings of wind.

Getting a reading that is more in line with the app calculated one.

And the repaired magnetic body mounts seems to be holding.

The little one and I took the G Wagon out for a walk today, gave it a little drive through our forest spring and would appear that we’ve semi killed the 1080 ESC, still has power to it but no drive, motor is fine and receiver does the steering on both channels! It’s in the airing cupboard drying out right now, as you can see the stream isn’t up to much, was enjoying the walk up to that point!

Now wondering if I’d imagined the 1080 being waterproof or not!
