Sorry to hear about your 1080 @Nwc100. HobbyWing markets that ESC as being waterproof and dust proof.. not sure why it would die suddenly.  :wacko:

Speaking of CC02, I placed a pre-order reservation for the CC02 Bronco today.  :D  This will be my last RC car I buy at least until next year after my son moves out.  No more room in my pretend RC shop.

I got pictures today of my new chassis titanium screw set🤣

the pictures the wrong orientation. It’s taken side on. The wedges were inserted from the front and the rods and screws from the back!!!!all done with hand tools

Just to keep Tamiya I got an email from Fusion that my Yaris M05 will be delivered tomorrow. It’s going to a drop off so I can get it when the coast is clear. Also ordered a Blitzer Beetle body and nose cone and body mounts to use my no2 Blitzer. It will be a real simple silvercan powered car I can just chuck in the boot of the car and take wherever I go. I might even let kids use it?

I’m not sure what they looks like before but they look very good now!

They were grey with lots of darker lines and very ”plasticy” looking. A couple coats of automotive acrylic and a couple coats of clear coat to “fix”

@mtbkym01 Looks good!   Did you use any primer?  I ask because my CR01's side mirror uses similar plastic like your wheels and the black TS I sprayed started chipping away on its own.  I need to go back and redo them later on..  I'm a bit worried as the turn signal housing and grill are the same material..

If I'm lucky I can just shear the paint off with my nails..  it could be just the mirrors in my case though, don't know yet.  I've not looked into it too deeply..

@Willy iine no I didn’t use primer in this instance, will be interesting to monitor what happens with them. The paint I used is Duplicolor Automotive “touch up” paint.

It's good stuff.  I use Duplicolor all the time in my garage.. mainly the semi-gloss black engine enamel.  Thing sticks to everything even without primer, so you might be okay.  Probably in a better situation than my side mirrors!  :D

Now wondering if I’d imagined the 1080 being waterproof or not!

I just took mine out for a similar "walk" and cleaned the car this way, followed by a proper hosing down when I got home. The HW is fine.

Changed the all to crazy Carson 3600kv brushless combo in my M-05 to a standard silver can and TEU-104BK esc. Still with the 20T pinion.

Quite the transformation then. They now look so good.

Thanks, let me check because I don’t remember whether I used Tamiya or another brand.  I painted it 7-8 years ago so I need to go back and check my notes/ receipts..

@Frankster

@BuggyDad

An interesting item I came across, a magnetic mount with electric connections. Good if you have lights and is forever ripping the wire out forgetting that they are there. Also, it has 4 magnets so should be a stronger hold. Also, it is designed for slotting onto body posts, so should be easier to mount than the "scaffolding" style one.

Something else to consider.

My kit was missing a few screws and hardware so I got side tracked a bit to fabricate the part, but all good now.  :D

I will install the electronics tomorrow.

Yes, I think it was.

@G-rem I checked my email archive, but since I bought and painted the car before 2015 I could not find the order info.  However, if I was to do it again, I would definitely use PS19 to match the yellow.  Hope this helps!

i took the manta for a run, it was 3 celsius and some decent wind. the snow was mostly hard packed top but both me and the car found foot traps/prints on the field. almost ran the tt02 but the daylight ran out. a good 30min run?? i didnt remember to bring a battery for the tt02. the manta ESC has XT60 connector and i didnt bring the adapter or tamiya plug battery with me in the end.

the cactus spike tires had sufficient grip on the snow as i dont have "winter" tires for it.

So did you end up just running around by yourself and let your RC cars watch you for a change?  :lol:;)

What was missing? I’m extremely surprised. I haven’t opened my kit yet, mine is an original re-release (1st batch)

*edit - just saw in the other re-re thread

Yeah, it was the bushing base collar for the top damper mount.  I was also missing a screw and washers too.. 3x8mm tapping screw, 3mm washer all standard stuff which I had, but not the bushing collar.  I was a bit surprised myself too.

Whoever packaged my kit must have been out having a good time with @nel33’s drunken penguins the previous night.   :lol:

Yeah the only other time was on a HPI kit.

Of all the kits I built over the years why did it have to be their flagship buggy, right?

I mean most of these packages are done by “naishoku” 3rd parties probably (local house wives) so it’s believable.. usually their accuracy is top notch though.

So you can imagine me having a hard time making large OEM companies in the USA understand the Japanese manufacturing culture especially when IATF is involved. :lol:

Received and fitted an UBEC and it solved the moving on neutral glitch of the TBLE. Glad I didn't believe some so called racer who insisted it was my radio gear's fault.
