@atf300: thanks for the advice. As there are no offroad racing tracks within Berlin, I don't care about pure competitiveness. As long as the car is bulletproof, has good ground clearance and won't fall to pieces or loose tapping screws like my DT-02 if I stick a brushless motor inside, I'm fine. I guess this is what I can expect from the Slash, can't I?

Parts support for Kyosho isn't that great where I live, in contrast to Tamiya, HPI and Traxxas.

Received my FF-01 with an Opel Astra body in the mail. Stole my Lunchbox's receiver and installed it in the FF01.

Did a test run on a parking lot near my house.

Promptly trashed the near mint body shell, because I'm stupid like that. :(

Eh. Fixed it with some fibre tape, still a bummer, tho!

Pity about the shell. I seem to remember trashing the front of my FF01's shell quite quickly too - quite a few hard spiky bits on the front of the chassis for it to get squashed against in a crash. Ah well, might as well drive this shell into the ground and get another for display purposes!

Just finished soldering up the wiring harness for Boat II - it can now move under its own power! It can only move in a straight line at the moment though, as it doesn't have a rudder assembly yet. It won't have one for a while either - hobby budget is currently being directed towards the acquisition of a Jun Watanabe Hornet.

Tonight I ..

Built up two pairs of hi-caps for my Top Force

Assembled some more bits n bobs chassis wise for the same (waiting on major parts still)

Had a nightmare with some tamiya masking tape on willy project (paint bled underneath it :(. )

Put final blutac mask on wild willy driver figure (paint tomorrow)

Ordered a few more items from Jason.

Not the most productive 3 hours :(

Managed to get the last coat of colour on Willy before leaving for work this morning - just got to clear the whole lot and add a bit of detailing (and maybe weathering) here n there

Today I got as far as I could with the installation of Boat II's running gear. Apart from the rudder and its linkage, all is complete in terms of the internal gubbins:

Bathtub tests show plenty of thrust. I only used quarter throttle this time, after my experence with Boat I emptying the bathwater all over the floor!

And here it is with it's sister vessel, Boat I (the Mary Lee). Although they look the same bar the colour scheme, they are actually subtly different in almost every respect. In fact, the only parts they have in common are the speed controllers!

Been a busy afternoon got lots done...

After finding my shed is leaking very bad after the hardcore rain we had i quickly found a new home 'in the house' (again says the mrs) yeah under the stairs, which is great because the are easier to get to now, but only runners.

This is a very cool build, it reminds me of Mr frosty's wheelie bus which used to race at Bug jam, at Santa pod raceway.http://www.flickriver.com/photos/30565175@N03/popular-interesting/http://www.flickr.com/photos/30565175@N03/3197824906/3197824906_d320e01d81.jpgSplit Van Wheelie by Frosty66, on Flickr

Fit working LED rear lights and a new set of carson chrome wheels to my 2010 holiday buggy and white lettered the original hb tyres, trying to figure out how to make a chrome A bar for the front of the buggy, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, it's a Kamtec body. Here's a pic side by side with a lexan version.

And the NIB Wheelie Beetle I'm building it to match.

Yes, that is a rudder right there! The delivery from Cornwall Model Boats made it through at last, so today I fitted the rudder which means that the boat is finally fully operational.

I also decided to add a thin silver line along the join between hull and deck. All it needs now are the last of the custom decals, and it is done!

After collecting my missed delivery of parts from the post office, I managed to

1. get the Top Force rebuild 90% complete chassis wise

2. spray the old TF shell and wing with PS-17 metallic green, followed up by PS-31 smoke for the windows

3. got about 70% of a Manta Ray built from the old parts and spares of the TF build

4. resprayed a Durga shell with PS-46 irredescent purple/green flip flop with PS-31 smoke for the cockpit window
