For a while, the 3D printer has not been printing as nicely as it did some years ago.
The problem is most probably absorbed moisture in the spools of PLA plastic that feed into the printing head. I'm not storing those spools the correct way in an air-tight bag with moisture absorber.

I had already bought a food dryer, and have now gutted out 2 trays so a spool can fit inside.

Now leave this spool to dry for 5 hours, and test print again after dinner to see if this has indeed improved quality....

Do love a 240z

Funny you mention that, a guy close to me has this for sale on Facebook. Been trying to barter him down all day…

Out of interest what is he asking. I got mine from Japan last year?

Spent my day in Fusion360 today...

Started to model a part of the Samurai to help @Ray_ve, and then got back to the Nichimo Spirit FF.

Achievement unlocked : Nichimo Spirit FF châssis is modeled.
I sliced it by curiosity, and it says about 17 hours print. I will probably print it during the week so I can adjust it next week-end... For the sake of making the precision : I don't even trust it to be right at the end of the first print :-D

He’s asking $350 AUD. He’s not a Tamiya collector. This is his only kit but he collects all kinds of 240Z memorabilia.

Sorry mispost. Going to say £185 isn’t bad. It looks a bit newer than mine. Doesn’t have the sticker on the bodyshell and also has some repro decals but the numbers look wrong. The actual cars ran with 31/11 but he seems to have no3? I think I paid £200 a year ago + about £50 from Japan so I’d snap it up if your local!!!

Nice~!!   Looking forward to this build.  :D

So am I when I build up the courage. I made the Jäegermeister Porsche and the Martini Porsche when they first came out. They both turned out ok especially the Jäegermeister. They are long gone unfortunately. The detail is brilliant.

Hmm, seems a good price then but just not sure I can justify it. I’m pretty sure it would just sit in the box. I’ve already got lots of projects sitting in boxes 😂

I haven’t got too many. Quite a few 1/48 planes, 1/24 cars and my part built Africa Twin and the Shelby GT500. Nothing else big like this(yet!!!!)

I’ve only been back in to Tamiya since September last year and stuff is just piling up left, right and centre. I need to get building/restoring for a while I think.

All that said, the 240Z really does look special. Please post pictures once you get to the build.

After building the XR311 it quickly reminded me I'm waaay past my static model building days.  :D   It was very enjoyable building it, but at the same time very relieving to know that it was my last plastic model I would ever build.

I will continue building RC cars (ideally hardshells), but no more plastic models.  They are just too small and too many pieces for me.   HotWheels and ChoroQ I will continue to paint to keep my chops up.
