I got the start of the stickers onto the Blitzer Beetle shell. I know there are certainly more complicated sticker applications out there in the Tamiya world, but this is the hardest I've done to date. Used a hair dryer for the first time on these as well to try to ensure good adhesion around the bonnet (hood yawl;)) depressions.

I'm not thrilled with the difference in colour between the orange plastic nose cone and the stickers. It looks worse in some lights that others, not too bad in the pic above I suppose, although neither orange is that red in reality either, that'll be the warm light of tungsten bulb in the desk lamp. I'm thinking of spraying the nose cone orange, anyone know if Tamiya Fluo orange TS-96 is a good match for the orange of the Blitzer stickers?

Looking good, @Kol__!!  Don’t worry about the nose and decal color match.   It gives the classic character and it actually looks better with those subtle imperfections.

Heck, the car looks good kind of beat up even if you’re going for a used worn look.

Thanks @Willy iine, maybe you're right mate. I'll have to have a good think about it. The shell is destined for bashing anyway!

I finally reached the front end of the Nichimo, and modeled the Bumper from the puzzle I had on my desk...

@Busdriver did you fit CC-01 wheels on the DT-02 Nissan Titan?   Do these smaller diameter rims fit perfectly?   Did you have a hex bearing adaptor in the front?  I was considering a similar swap

Yes yes and yes. The bearing adapter isn’t brilliant!!!! I ended up drilling out the centre of the wheel, so that the wheel nut( non serrated) would come into contact with the outer bearing. This meant the carrier had to be 1/2 hour epoxied into the wheel and also I had to add a brass bush to the axle first to get the right thickness. I wish I had the technical ability to use lathes etc as I think I could produce a better system. I have considered drilling through the wheel hub at right angles, through the air hole and inserting a grub screw to bite down on the bearing carrier. So yes it works but at the moment light duties only!!!!

Took me early morning and all night (had to go to the office today for work), but excited to report the initial test run went well.   :D

I am amazed at how well this car runs in tight space.  I am temporarily running a TBLE04S since my 1060 never arrived today.. will swap it later and clean up the wires a little more.  Only mods are Tamiya high torque servo saver and a turnbuckle between the servo horn and steering linkage.

I love it!  :D

Finished stickering the GR Yaris. If you don’t enjoy doing stickers I suggest you either get a different shell or get somebody else to do it!!! Best part of 60 stickers and it’s an unlogoed hatchback!!!

Hard to visualize. Can you share detailed photos or a build page? 🤗

I like the idea of proper sidewalls on my DT-02 Titan. I do want heavy duty capability though…

Your GR Yaris looks good.  If they sold that car 1:1 in the USA there would be one parked next to my GR Supra right now.   It’s a shame we don’t get those hard core hatches in the USA.

In other news, I set up the Avante and realized the rear springs are a tad too soft on this car as the car tweaks to the right with abrupt throttle.  I had to apply a 5mm perch on the left rear to balance, but it doesn’t look good so decided to give the front a tad more toe-out to compensate and removed the perch.   It tracks perfectly straight under ramped acceleration so it’s the corner weight (balance) that is off.  It’s okay, the car is mostly for decoration anyway.  :D

I can tell the Egress is much more refined and ‘finished’ compared to this car.

Hope to get my HotShot soon!

I took a saw blade to my QD buggy (£5 ebay special) to cut it down to around 190 mm wheelbase. I didn't have a battery cover, and didn't have a body shell, so didn't feel too bad

sxuLO1g.jpg

Why? Well, so I could make a mini king cab of course!

q3hMZex.jpg

This is with the M rally tires

This is with racing truck tires

ORcXyEo.jpg

Neither a perfect, (too small and too large) so I want to find some original spiked tired that will give the right look.

I will also paint in the red, blue, white of the King Cab to bring it to life.

Decided to go plain and simple on the Terra Scorcher as I predominantly bought it to be run. I was hoping to paint a couple of yellow accents on it but getting to a shop for paint was proving impossible. 95% done, just a bit to finish off the driver/chassis cover.

Very clean!  I really like simple decal application.  Maybe a wide-ish dual stripe down the center of the body?   Not sure..

Got an email from a TC member with a 58025 and he asked me "How much are you offering?"

Can sellers please stop asking this question?

YOU are selling.  I am BUYING, maybe.   YOU set the price.   I accept or deny.

Nothing drives me more insane than a seller trying to get leverage by asking how much I'm offering.

Aaaarrrgggghhhh! I'm with you. I'm sure people ask as they don't want to miss out on extra cash but if you are selling you should know what you are willing to sell for and what you hope to sell for. Otherwise put it on eBay.

Precisely.  This auction in ND is a hoarders delight.   I can just see the people who want to have 4 Sand Scorcher bodies they'll never use or take with them to the grave, licking their chops lol.

58025 is the Golf?  I thought I saw one selling on eBay.   A bit pricey, but if that's what you want, why not?

Most people that say name your offer is not in a hurry to sell..  so they'll screw around with the idea of selling.  This person appears serious to sell.. and from the pictures it looks to be in good condition, 100% seller score.  I'd buy it.
