This is my issue too currently, I need to make some space for my "Wild Fox" as the BH Wild One took its place, having added the Javelin recently hasnt helped. I also need to sort out Runners from Shelfers, maybe a new shelf for runners....wait, what?

  Haha!  Yeah, when one tries to actually display cars presentably it can take some effort.   It takes up quite a bit of space and it has to look good in its entirety too with some level of categorization.

Dang it I have been hearing faint voices in my head about Javelin's.  That is such a cool car.  I will try to mute it out.

This is my first fwd m chassis car I’ve built, it’s on the M05 chassis with added oil shocks. The M07 is probably a better performance chassis but can’t be made as 210mm chassis which is the the best one for Minis. There are also 01 and 03 m chassis but I believe they are like hens teeth and maybe not as good?

M01&2 were rudimentary original proof of concepts imho... quirky Tamiya design, beat for holding up nice bodies on your shelf :)

M04 can handle well but relies on crutch of needing grippier rear tyres for handling balance.

M05 is current workhorse but imho they’re not that easy to build a good racer out of... needs hopups & builder experience to get then to run right. It’s got too many separate bits & inefficient layout.

Whereas M03 is where the planets aligned & the real magic happened! Amazingly simple design, we could throw a new one together blindfolded after a few drinks & it'll still run great on the racetrack first thing tomorrow. Needs a bare minimum of hopups, it’s light & easy on tyres too.

Got the DT-02 back together and the blacked out stealth look has begun

Busy day with work today but I couldn't resist quickly breaking down the Unimog I just received. As expected it's not in great shape. Main chip board damaged, steering in pieces and some cracking to the chassis. Weird given the body is in good shape apart from some minor parts missing.

Anyway, wanted to see how I could bring it back to life...I've got some more truck tyres and rims on the way but kind of like this look. Might just have to find a way to bring the front axle forward a little although it's a better match than this slightly fish-eyed photo suggests.

Last night i sanded down the mould lines on the Sand Scorcher shell and gave the whole surface a bit tooth.

I also redesigned/printed and this morning, before work, mounted the lower profile rear shock tower on my tt02b chassi, there is now space for the above mentioned body to sit level on it and at a good height.

Nice @Kol__  have you decided on the body yet?

Yes bud, I've gone with a Team Azarashi Canyx body with a narrow wing (thanks to @ThunderDragonCy again for pointing me in that direction). Got it yesterday and although designed for the TRF-201, it looks like it will fit the DT-02 with some minor trimming. Probably going to do something different with the windows though.

Mine, as @Willy iine guessed, lol, will be black. It'll be the first polycarbonate body I've painted, so I'm keeping it simple. It will take a long while to be able to gain the skills to produce something along the lines of the above!

Nor did I! A while back I asked the question on this forum of how to fit them on hex wheels as I wanted to try them on a GF01. I had assumed I was going to need old rims with some kind of hex adapter. But then someone, I’m pretty sure it was @Nikko85said that they would work on M wheels. Some fiddling is needed to get them to work properly. I will try and find the detailed post and tag you in it.

That looks proper beefy mate! What's the colour, like a sort of champagne gold? Suits it well. Shame about the damage, do you have spares to repair it?

Yes, it’s a kind of champagne colour but I will strip the decals (damaged anyway) and might repaint to more closely replicate the Paris Dakar version. Nothing too serious in terms of body damage, just roll cage, mirrors, etc which I’m going to try and remake from styrene etc.

Awesome, man.   Keep us posted!  I love my Sand Scorcher.  Influenced by @Re-Bugged and @Grumpy pants.   :D  It's weird, I never imagined owning one as a kid as it just did not appeal to me back then.

In other news I was replenishing my zip ties this morning and saw this legendary ESC from my racing days so wanted to show it off.  :D

Yes, Deans on both motor and battery side as I cut the comm frequently on the brushed mod motors on my touring car (TC3).

Meanwhile in the background I am using my super high tech plastic triangle measure and modified high performance Elmers glue to make a stand for my HotShot..

Sand scorcher for sure. Are hornet wheels the same size as the sand scorcher internally? That means hornet would also fit, which gives me some options..

jyE1vyz.jpg

This is my MF01x with M Class wheels and Sand Scorcher tires.

To seat properly I placed the rim of the tire behind the inner wall of the channel. For this to work you need to cut off the six struts that run from front to back of the wheel

D5ReogQ.jpg

My initial plan was the use foam tape to essentially make a new channel, but this isn't needed.

0rHw5Rb.jpg

As it's very solid without these, in the end I took them out. You could glue, but I've not needed too, the car will very very happily do wheelies, so there's not much slippage.

Willy iine that's a nice Cyclone TC. I have a Cyclone C2 in an old RC10 T3 right now. I collect old Novak brushed ESCs. Here are a few of them including a GTS and original Rooster sealed NIB. The others are L to R...Super Rooster,  Atom, Super Duty XR, Dually, and HV Maxx.

Project 1/14 QD King Cab gets a little closer

n84xsNX.jpg

Still needs all new chassis, wheels, motor, servo, servo arms, tires, motor, esc, battery tray, windows, interior, driver, stickers, vinyl and bearings but it's feeling a lot more done than yesterday.

Ps if anyone on the longest of long shots has any yellow QD buggy shocks (they were available on the Dash-0) please let me know!
