I'm real late to the game but I bought a new DT02 yesterday.   I know it's a basic kit and all, but I think it looks great and has potential.. so I got some Egress dampers for it and HB wheels which I'm going to paint black like @Kol__'s car.

Since I can't source the cool and sleek body Kol__ runs, I decided to go with gunmetal on the factory DT02 body and just run minimal decals.

I guess my question is what is the part number for the rear universal?   That is the only other hop up I'm thinking right now.. TIA!  :D

I've really got into the DT02 again, so should i sell the TD4 in favour of a DT02 (and maybe a tt02B/tl01b) project?

and yes, it is a one or the other, cant have both.

Ah no mate, have you fallen out of love with the TD4 or is it just that you feel the need fo another project and you've now got the bug for a DT-02? Either way could you wait a bit and gather some funds for a new project whilst not selling the current one?

Where will you use the dt02 that you can't use the td4?

a valid point, i wont most likely race it, it would be a project car, modding the living badword out of it. so a very different use to what i had planned for the TD4

more that i built it to race, and. now thats not gonna happen.  and i'm not one to keep something that i don't run or work on constantly

sigh, i dunno. we'll see

@matisse I've been in that situation before with other cars and I've ended up selling them on to re buy them again at a later date. I think unless you need the cash I'd just focus on your dt02 for a while then come back to the td4 in the near future and just blast it around for fun. That's why i intend to use my td2 for, once it's built.

considering Tamiya M05 ver 2 Pro or 3Racing Sakura M4 pro.  I can’t find Tamiya M-Four for a reasonable price

I recently done a M4 Sport, quite like it. Also had done a MG Evo, which dare I say, drives better than my M-05, and better value as well. 3R has easier access to parts than Xpress, at least for me in the UK.

Actually there is also another choice for FF, the MST TCR-M, but it maybe too simple for what you want.

All these chassis are not really meant for bashing as they have really low ground clearance. I bash mine on tarmac and they become quite trashed very quickly.

Same, I regret selling the ones i did a lot of work on, the DT03T being the prime example.

I was looking at this the other day myself. I believe it is the same as the DF-02 universal, but of course you just need the one set for the 2wd DT-02 - 53791.

On the DF-02 you also need the drive cups, so assume the same for the DT-02 if fitting those universals - 53790.

I'm going to get both as picking some up for my DF-02 (yes, another project has been selected:ph34r:) so will be able to test for to the DT-02.

Thanks, @Kol__!! I have extra drive cups that fit into the diff so I will look for the universals!

I have a DF02 with universals so maybe I can borrow the dog bone axles I took off of it worst case... hummm..

@Kol__  I download the SandViper DT02 manual and realized that the car already comes with metal dog bones so I guess I’ll just use that for the time being.  lol

You can tell I have absolutely no idea what I even bought.

I’m going to use the oil dampers on another car in the future.

Watch out for the damper arms in the DT-02.   Good to get a brace as this is a weak point.  Already has to replace one already

thanks @alvinlwh  3racing and Xpress look like winners.  Price is good value for what I get.  May need to get shorty lipo now.  I was avoiding exploding batteries in the house near my kids.

Funny thing is 3 racing and Xpress are based out of Hong Kong.  Also Yeah Racing, RC Mart HK and Xpress have the same address 🤔.  Same owner?

The 3R ones can fit normal lipos, I just have one of them set to shorty to suit my needs. These chassis are very tight with little room to mount electronics, so I set the M4 to shorty so that I have room to mount the lipo alarm.

RCMart owns Xpress, that is why they are the main, and often the only source for Xpress kits and parts. Depending on where you are, I had terrible experience with them in the UK so I avoid them now. An example with the TCR-M kit (US$99.90 in both example), it costs US$40 more from RCMart than Asiatee, on checkout, and additional import "fines" will be imposed on entry to UK. That is if they even post it, some had experienced they send out an email demanding for additional postage after payment. If you are elsewhere, you might be ok.

For 3R, it is best to buy from them directly. I bought my MG Evo for ÂŁ70 delivered, ÂŁ55 kit and ÂŁ15 postage. Their postage is very reasonable. The M4 is available in the UK, so I bought from a UK supplier instead.

Ah yes the Sand Viper is certainly upgraded over the Holiday Buggy and comes with turnbuckles for the camber, oil shocks and also metal driveshafts form the sounds of it - didn't know about those! Bonus!!B)

M Class wheels arrived. The set I had on my MF01x racing truck that got moved to the 1/14 QD King Cab, so I needed another set. I wanted to get the same Fiat ones, but when I looked, zero joy, so instead I picked up some chrome ones from the Low Rider. I will probably strip the chrome and paint white.

I also tried out the Kyosho 14x tires too.

Oh nice one. I was thinking that a louvre rear window on my Monster Beetle/Blitzer Beetle shell would be cool. How durable is the one you've made? (my shell is a basher)

Saw a lot of Marui Samurai parts on a local market website, so I'm going to chain myself to the heating radiator, and throw my pay card and phone to the other side of the room....

I found a nice file on thingiverse but the original was pretty thin and didnt print well for me so i thickened the slats up a bit and then it printed excellent, mine is in PLA so cant say exactly how durable it would be but at least very nearly free to replace if you have a 3d printedr it costs cents in filament.

The body shell is still unmodified, the louvres as i said are printed in PLA and the green bit ive printed in TPU, a flexible material, the blue bits are locating helpers so it stays in the window, the green screws to the center hole and holds the louvres on and since its flexible its very easy to take off by bending it from the inside when the body is off.

My work gave me this today.  I’m impressed how clean it sounds for its 1/2 soft drink can size.

It will come along with me when I take my RC cars to my indoor makeshift track. :D

      Hi Jon,
In the linked image, I've simply moved the bar forward until it is centered directly over the rear shock tower (approx. 10.72mm) and kept the same height.  Is this what you had in mind?

I've also reached out to you on Thingiverse via you R53JRC user name.

Are still manufacturing the gear box clamp for Monster Beetle?

      Thank you for your help
