Where are these observation towers at? This is something I'd love to see with my own eyes. Seeing as you took a day trip down past Delaware, I'm assuming it's not too far from me being here in Maryland

Tower locations include:

Tower 1  —  Bethany Beach, DE
Tower 2  —  Indian River, DE
Tower 3  —  Dewey Beach, DE
Tower 4  —  Dewey Beach, DE
      Tower 5  —  Lewes/Rehoboth, DE
      Tower 6  —  Lewes/Rehoboth, DE
      Tower 7  —  Lewes, DE
Tower 8  —  Broadkill Beach, DE
Tower 9  —  Cape May, NJ
Tower 10  —  Wildwood Gables, NJ
Tower 11  —  North Wildwood, NJ
Those are towers 5 and 6 located at the Gordons Pond state park, north of Rehoboth Beach. I'm from PA so we travel east through some of MD before hitting Delaware and heading south to the beaches.

My son and I had an urban RC driving session.  First drive with both Stadium Trucks after upgrading the servos.  Steering is much quicker but noticed the white truck steering angle was not as great as the blue truck.   The only difference is the transmitter  and is probably the source.   The low grade cheap transmitter on the white truck cost around $20 USD, very basic with limited trim options.  The truck was also slow and I remembered there is a rubber sleeve on trigger to limit top speed 🤦‍♂️  Old school approach but works for kids learning to drive.

Last day of two weeks of leave today, so I finally managed to squeeze in a couple of hours of hobby time this morning to switch out the dampers and steering arms on my TA04-TRF bits-a-build

Now going to spend an hour or so on some final sanding and trimming the shell and then it will be time to paint!

Looks amazing! This will turn out super sweet!

This Wheels would look even better with those Break-Discs behind… what you think?

Today was one of the first days since the pandemic started that I actually went somewhere (aside from work, cycling with my daughter and going to empty playgrounds with my daughter)...the beach. Its been about three years, which is about an eternity for a wannabe beach bum like myself. Weather was great. Wife was great. Kid was great. Of course a Lunch Box had to come along too:

I got to finally trek down the beach to one of my old haunts, a pair of WW2 observation towers used to spot German subs off the Atlantic coast. Its been 28 years since I've been up close to them (I was but a teenager then) and we're both a bit worse for wear (although I envision them outlasting me)

I hope to semi-retire in 10 years and move down to the beach. My wife, who abhors the snow and cold, is oddly pulling for a move to Maine (to which, she has never been). Go figure. Still, she loves the beach as much as I and as long as we get out of our town, I think it will be an upgrade regardless, lol.

As a bonus, while we were on the way home from our little day-trip, we passed the Dover Delaware AFB which was having an airshow. The Blue Angels were literally performing around us and over our heads as the cruised down the highway. Quite cool.

Wow that’s beautiful. I’m from the UK so don’t really know many coastal area of the US. The one I do know is Maine. Stayed in Boothbay harbour a couple of years back (4 actually) and what a lovely place. Would go back in a flash and probably live there. Loved New England , Cape Cod also beautiful.

Picked up something similar. Only problem is when I take off the wheel the pin drop.  Wished they had a screw to lock it in place

I suppose some AW grease can keep the pins in place.. (?)

Good idea.  Will give it a try

Yeah, it's like when you're assembling ball diffs.. I grease up the holes in the diff gear and the balls stay put when I drop them in with my magnetized tip hex driver  during assembly.  :D

@Juhunio Wow!  Now that is art.

@Ferruz Incredible pictures!   There was some unusual tornado activity in northern Michigan yesterday or the day before.. major damage to the town of Gaylord.  :(

Glad to see your Hornet conquered the forest.  :D

Fixed my hopper and took some cars out to do some speed runs, the hopper lasted three runs then plowed into a curb breaking the new arm and tearing off the shock :(. The P34 spun and damaged the wing when it too hit the same curb in the same spot, so I decided to bring Billy out to see if he can break the 50mph mark, or put him into the curb as well . He wasn't in the mood to exceed 7 mph for some reason so I put him away for now. Now I'm off to see what I need to buy to fix everything so I can try again.

Later on this afternoon I installed the windshield wipers, along with some home made sprinklers on the Delta shell.

Screenshot-20220522-200905-Gallery.jpg

This is how the car looks at this stage: since last time, I added panel lines, rear tow ring, wipers and cut the body posts. The missing Michelin decals along with others for the interior are on their way and should be here soon, and the driver cockpit is now almost done... exept for the roll bar. I probably won't resist and install it before it's done 😄

Yeah, tornadoes are fairly rare in Michigan, and more so up there.  In the greater Detroit area we get maybe 1-2 tornado/heavy storm sirens a year, but very rarely an actual tornado that touches down.
