Ok you are right, a QD wrangler done in JP jeep style with Edgarmon driving would finish off the selection. If a QD jeep body comes up I will definitely consider it! 

No, actually it was in Australia. I didn’t notice that at the time though because stuff so rarely comes up locally here. I should have bid on it.

I did just buy a used MF01x for $80. It’s been built and has a Suzuki body on but I will be taking it apart to make a shorter wheelbase version.

This morning I started my Optima Mid build. What a lovely car to put together. This is my first ever Kyosho. The Optima Mid was the first car I ever saw racing back in 1988.

Finished building my first TT02 this week and got it out today. Managed to crash it into my real car and broke one of the wheels and spoiler I made, thankfully I brought plenty of wheels. Really want another now to set up as a drift chassis.

Lots of work in the past few days and not much RC, but that little bit was poignant: I went ahead and popped the seals off the Optima Mid box, my first ever high-end kit and one I always wanted. I took the time to appreciate the contents one by one and was completely blown away, holy cowL, it literally drips quality from every pore  I absolutely love Tamiya, but this is a whole other level compared to what I've dealt with so far (but I know, I never built an Avante or Egress).

Everything, from the blister presentation (that I can finally experience first hand, yay 🤣) to the small details is top notch, and the bonus parts and extra Mid poster are also appreciated.

I can't wait to start the build, but I still have to sort out the electronics. Anyway, my biggest "block" as of now seems to be the graphics: I'm more torn than ever on how to finish this, torn between box art and a few other options. I know I can do multiple shells, but for now I just want to make a decion on the box one, well what a nice problem to have!

Anyway, it was interesting to realize my first reaction in front of all this goodness: it instantly made me wanna order a Turbo Optima to keep it company, and it's still hard to hold back 😉

Finished up my Joel Johnson-ish Ultima today. Its nothing really close to the original. Just a Tomahawk body on a re-re chassis with MCI decals. I went with a blue stripe as I prefer it to the original pink. I'd liked to have added the gold shocks but they really aren't that different from the red ones nowadays and money is tight. Someday maybe, along with fiberglass towers.

I got my Optima-mid today.   

I am still working on the bike stand..  Will do some final shaping and then hit it with some glossy red paint. 

Shot it with some red.    Also painted the chain, damper shafts, etc on the Maisto bike itself.   

Will mount onto the bike hopefully later today.

Novafox body is painted. Decided to go box art. The silver of the decals has a matte finish and I guess it goes pretty well with the PS-4 of the body and the color of the driver helmet. 
I also had an unused can lying around. So, the decision was made.

I cutted out the front window to give a better view to the driver and I enlarged the rear window to give a better access to the power switch.

The paint job goes well. Had a few overspray on the outside which has to be cleaned. But I guess I like it.

That's a nice color, @YelloMello.  I think the matte silver will look superb.  Besides the mods you did, I like that you painted the wing supports black.  The contrast is going to look real tight.

I can’t remember exactly, but I think I used Duratrax brand lexan paint, green metallic. I know for certain it was not Tamiya PS I used..

Thanks. I love BRG on real cars but searching Tamiya PS sample images, it does not appear to come close

Yeah, I'm no expert, but this is the primary reason why I went with Duratrax paint on that body.    It's a bit on the lighter side though, but I think it works well with the playful nature of the Mini, especially with a white top.  

I think it can look even better with bronze colored wheels.

body is overall in good shape.  A few scratches on the outside.   Body inside sanded, back in the day before we knew about polycarbonate paint

I got my tracking number for my Optima-MID MiniZ so test charging my old AAA’s.  There was one cell that died.   

I really like this charger as it has a status indicator screen unlike those Eneloop chargers with just blinking LED’s..

I don’t think there are factory bronze wheels, are there?  I CA the bead so I don’t paint these wheels.  Especially my 4WD m-chassis are rockets and tires can peel right off the wheels doing hot laps..
