Squeezed a 3s lipo in the DT-02, it didn't last long, but it was great fun. :D

Had a couple of really bad crashes, no damage, then just clipped a kerb and this happened,.....

Terrible pic, but you can see the hole in the gearbox where the top arm used to be.

3S in a DT-02? I imagine it was great fun, and it seems like it lasted a lot longer than expected!

I did a much-tamer installation of a new waterproof ESC. Not as much excitement as a 3S Li-Po, but a point of satisfaction once I had it clipped in:

Yeah it was going really well, even managed to hit full throttle for a fraction of a second a few times.

If you look a few posts up, you will see I did the exact same thing to my blitzer about a week ago, I really should stop using the 3s, but it is fun. :D

I'm fairly certain the 3S had some help in doing that.

I actually got to drive the TXT-1 around a little bit. It was dark out when I got that far so it was only run indoors.

Just got done restoring/repairing this, mechanically at least... will probably buy another of these bodie and finish it nicely as a shelf shell, as this one's a bit beat! My third FF01 (fourth, if you count the fact that I built this out of one I crashed and one I bought broken).. and I've got enough parts for half of another... I seem to have grown fixated on these...

Now I've got another stock one kicking around which will be restored later and one that's quite hopped up with frp chassis, a few aluminium parts and such, needs a new servo and then it's ready to run as well... tho, need to source a body for that.

Fixed the front body mount on my DT-02, and ordered new gearbox casing.

A few hours of research into LiPo and other batteries for my transmitter. Ultimately resulted in a decision to order a LiPo battery, low voltage alarm and some spare 2S and 3S balance cables. Ordered it locally so it should be here by mid-week and I'll see how I can tuck it all in a make the required mods.

cool, hope you do a thread on the mods , i'm sure others will be thinking of doing the same thing. :)

Re-jigged the TL-01 I bought off firstsecondthirdgearwheelieonewheelsenough (top bloke and the first time I've seen someone's real RC collection) yesterday, after a bit of haggling.

I replaced Acoms radio with my wheel controller setup and moved the ESC so that I can fit my LiPo in. I also glued the tyres and tightened most of the screws.

It goes like stink with the Tamiya Sport Tuned that was in it - think I'll give my son a run for his money on Tuesday, assuming I can keep this thing in a straight line.

Couldn't bring myself to run it with the Focus WRC shell it came with (the condition of it was too good) so I put some more holes in my Mondeo basher shell and used that.

I thought I was being quite clever by inverting the standard battery retaining brackets to make a LiPo "tray", but I imagine someone else has spotted this, too. Don't really care that the CoG is higher now.

Nice work on the LiPo tray, practical solution.

I've spent the last 90 mins labouring over a battery and motor upgrade... I have the shopping cart loaded up (6000mah/80C+LRPX20/6.5T - ), also with some other stuff I need but haven't had the strength to punch 'buy' just yet... it's a few hundred Euro and that's not easy to swallow...

Been building my Bruiser re re . What great fun it is . I should have taken some pic's

when i was building it :( . It was a last minute thing & when why not . Got so pumped

that i'm building a bruiser , I had lost time . 5 1/2 hours later it was late . So i went

for a snooze . Not that i could sleep :D . The gear box was some real fun to build

& loved it . This glueing is wearied !! .

Still have alot more to do , Got rims ( bruiser ) done & the slipper clutch .

Learned about Steering Dual Rate on my transmitter.

Figured out how to use the brake on my ESC.

Ran my car until the LiPo alarm bleeped.

Got my Tamiya Sport Tuned 540 pretty hot.

Grinned a lot.

Programmed the speed passion esc for the DB-01R - very easy with the lickle programming box, other manufacturers would do well to copy this one !

Nice... is that a 'Pro','R' or 'S'? I'm thinking of getting the 'R' but am on the fence...

My Striker is now a runner:

imag2744.jpg

The run lasted all of two minutes since I was using a mostly-spent pack, but it was enough to prove the car could take the snow (little water ingress into the body, and I waterproofed the electronics beforehand) and that even on a mainly-flat course it still bounced visibly. A lot of fun!

My Buggy Champ made an appearance too, outfitted with new universal joints:

Got my F350 and my Stadium Thunder out for a spin round the garden with my nephew.

I have to say that LiPo is a revelation - not charged since the autumn, but plenty of power left in them. Beats having loads of nearly dead nimh packs to try and revive...

It was a pretty productive day here. I finished the Peugeot 205 and even did the lights in it.

DSCN0116.jpg

I took the pluge and put twin 4 pole 3300 KV brushless waterproof sets in the clod crawler. I needed the programming capabiity they offer. It might be too much but I have a pair of reducers for it they're needed. I took it out and it doesn't lack for power.

DSCN0118.jpg

I changed out the ESC in the bruiser so it could go Lipo. It runs quite a bit better now. I also made and installed a shift gate.

DSCN0119.jpg

I fixed the front axles in the SC10RS and swapped out the motor and ESC for a sensored 13.5 turn system. I also put on a motor heat sink. I took it out and put the front end to the test and it didn't break for a change.

I also swapped out the NIMH in the F201 for a 4000 MAH 2 cell lipo soft pack. I've got 2 of the 5 ESCs programmed so a bit more to go. I've got a pair of 55 turn Integy's with a Lipo compatable ESC and a 5000 MAH 3 cell all ready to put into the TXT next..

Geez Dave I thought I was doing good with Dying the rims!

I needed a new set of rims for the SC-10 4X4 and the local hobby shop only had White. Well I remembered I had some Black Dye. Problem solved!

Worked like a champ
