I think with some color the thing would not look so obnoxious..

I will work on it some more tomorrow.

The final version for now looks like this.. decided to remove the curve on the front leading ends as it was just not sitting right.. and added a low center lip for some extension and larger side slats (?)..

Installed sway bars (front and rear) in my Optima Mid.

Tested, still squirelly, nasty on-power oversteer. Tried reducing front camber. Not sure it helped.

What does it have for diffs? Ball, fluid, gear/grease…?

The Durga finally lives. Its taken 2 months but I finally gave it a quick test in the backyard, and since I hadn't glued the tyres a tyre promptly came off and flew past me. I made a mistake in the slipper and got around to pulling it out again today. Its such a mission to get to, having to pull out the front diff too, that I sat down and looked at it and almost left it for another day. No idea what I had done wrong, as I just took it apart, put it back together and this time it all worked as it should. Maybe @Willy iine was sending me hope without realising it

I fitted the Savox servo to my Ansmann X2. It was super tight and the arm just hits the side of the chassis on the full lock left so might need to have it out and rotate the arm one tooth. It works super fast, the most precise steering I’ve ever had for sure!

@Willy iine That front splitter looks great. It’ll need matching side skirts and rear diffuser next surely?

reminds me of this Renault R5 concept I saw at the weekend. Would love this as a kit!

So, I went to Sydney last week with the family - first family holiday in almost 3 years (I wonder why!). It was a road trip, which meant I could bring a couple of toys to entertain myself when everyone else was asleep or playing on their phones!

Monday:

Wednesday started with a trip to Manly Beach, and a trek to the 'Manly Wormhole':

We then headed to Fairlight Beach - this might just be my favourite spot for crawling I went to:

I finished off the day with a wander down to Bondi, and that was it for my crawling adventures! We drove back on Friday, but I didn't find time on Thursday.

Awesome pics, @lsear2905! Looks like you had a relaxing holiday!

Today at dawn I went up Mt Maunganui again (3 days in a row), then after a coffee treat, I went down the beach a bit and depleted 2 4000mah batteries in my raggedy old Lunchbox.

Then went home and got the DT03 going, and punted that around the garden. Think a faster motor, faster servo, and some better front tyres could be on the cards for that one.

:Edit:

Also a video of our truck meet last weekend...

Thanks to Google I'm now very jealous: the rocks around Mt Maunganui look stunning (especially for a RC crawler), and what a backdrop!

Gear diffs front and rear, I think 10K in front, 5K in the rear. Fluid on both ends.

I also tried unhooking the rear swaybar.

Lol. I really want to see it.

Anyone good with Photoshop?. Lol.

But I have the Volvo bonnet/hood, so it would look even more mad Max on the front of a motorbike.

@lsear2905 sounds like good times! The pictures are beautiful, I really enjoyed looking at them. I love the one with the opera house in the background.

My 1:1 car needed to be washed, badly, so I gave her a well deserved clean yesterday afternoon. Involved in the process were a hose, lots of elbox grease, and a Mopar car washing kit I was given as a gift some time ago. Along with other products, this washing kit contained some fæncy tire cleaner foam which really did wonders on my daily driver's kicks. At this point, I thought I'd give the same pampering treatment to the Boss's rubbers.

I put on a bit too much maybe, but I think these old tires could use the extra moisture!

Turned out nice, maybe a bit too nice now if compared to the scruffiness of wheels and body shell! The tires do feel rejuvenated for sure.

Actually yesterday, but I got my Avante Black out for a run on the Racing By Post track. Turns out I forgot to threadlock a single metal-on-metal screw - the one holding the servo horn on... The run was cut short, but no damage done.

I fried something in my lights while shortening up all the leads.  one minute the LEDs were working, next it was all dead.  so i get to spend tonight wiring up another teensy and led driver.  luckily, all the actual LEDs are on pigtails, so i don't need to do anything but unplug those from the dead board, and plug them into the new board.20220924_183914.thumb.jpg.72d40178b63d50276366cd7a4aed411f.jpg

I'd be lying if I hadn't thought of taking the scx24 there. When I was still with my ex, I wouldn't hesitate to go there. But now that I'm single, I'm a bit dubious as a lot of cute women run around the base where the rocks are. 😅

That's so cool. I regularly use Meguiars Ultimate Detailer on my rc's, and I sanded back my little 1:1 runabouts headlights the other week and am considering coating them in TS-13 Clear 😄

You could use it as a conversation starter! Let's face it: how long could you keep your RC hobby a secret if you meet someone? Or just go when there's less people around...

I usually guess once, cut 3 times and things seem to fit.

Is this the first eyeball?. Or 2nd?

Pops wasn’t kidding when he said I was dumb half a century ago..    haha!
