Lots going on at home at the moment so haven’t quite had the energy to get back to RC. I did however pick-up another new toy:

@Nikko85 I’ve gone back in time to 2097 ;)

I use that stuff on my TA05 M-Four and works great.

Do you have more info about your TA05 M-Four?  I have one but I've never progressed past the build stage with it...

The Steam Deck may genuinely be the best thing I've ever bought. Valve were smart to price it at a point where they made almost no profit on them, because when the SD2 comes out and it's priced more like you'd expect, they already have us hooked like crack addicts because I know I'll gladly buy it. I waited 21 years to play Gran Turismo 3 on a handheld and it was glorious. Started to go through my Steam backlog of freebie and bundle games as well, although I end up buying more stuff on sale just to play on the deck so the list keeps growing.

@Tamiyastef One of the most stunning non-boxart Lancia Deltas I've seen around the forum is the one built by @Cuiken.

Build thread, including a very nice video, below:

XV-01 Lancia Delta Build - General discussions - Tamiyaclub.com

Thank you. Very informative thread. And the body looks ace but if I go loud or fluo it's most likely yellowish green :D like these:

Bur for the Lancia I'm likely more going flat charcoal or some pastel blue/corsa grey

Yes, it’s quite the piece of kit isn’t it. Emulation is simpler than I’ve ever experienced before and having a huge catalogue of games on steam is just amazing. Today I played Ridge Racer PSP, Wipeout 2097 (PSX), Sega Rally 2 (Dreamcast) and  Pilot Wings (N64). Brilliant!

I’ve not tried any modern releases that will really test the hardware but I think I might finally get around to playing Cyberpunk now…

All this talk of @Frankster doing a MiniCooper body has developed into an itch for me to paint another Mini body.  :D   hahaha.. I still have a CupRacer that needs a body and a Xpress XM1-C..

Anyway, a couple of projects for me today.. will try to make the tripod and possibly the camera (probably just an iPhone on a clamp) for Willy, going to insulate the hall bathroom's window with the 3M insulation seal kit on my house, followed by test driving a new 4x4 MiniZ crawler that is scheduled to arrive today.  I got the batteries charging now.  :D

Sorry for the ugly photo..

Thanks for the advice @Willy iine.  Going to take a break from mini for now.  I feel like I have fat fingers to mask inside the small mini shell.  Will look for brush paint first and before going back to the PS cans.. 🤦‍♂️

I have pained larger full size bodies and buggies no problem.  This is my first proper multi color body

Last 2 weeks a local guy was selling a few NIB hard to find models at a moderate price. I snatched them up right away.   Still deciding how to hide them from my wife.  Too many parallel projects going on at the moment 🤦‍♂️0C21F7C1-4888-4598-B56E-5D4C9391C7B9.jpeg.e1069c726d190339e65b961f6f74630b.jpeg09F5203D-D294-480A-B9A0-7B092A7C054C.jpeg.d851b03e59d98a9df4e831db9a38016e.jpeg5787B44F-141C-4640-AA41-FBBD9233E1C1.jpeg.11baaf9dc2f80c4bafc702a2255e9d2f.jpeg

Nice catch on the Golf and Porsche!

Have you considered using fine point precision tweezers to align the tape?  I use it all the time actually, as I’m just too clumsy with my finger tips.

Just a quick update on the tripod hinge portion.. used tweezers to align by EWH technologies..

Update.. starting to look like a tripod.. (?).

Update more tripod bits.. will assemble and move onto the clamp and iPhone..

Update.. finally starting to look the part. :D   .. I hope..

Final update for the day.. will give it some color tomorrow.   The round thing is an LED light ring.. aka left over rings from the shop fan grill..

No RC for me the past week.  Weather forecast shows we're likely getting snow this weekend, so I've been focused on trying to get the last of the garden harvested...

rAfGISa.jpg

33LB-8oz of carrots and 14LB-6oz of beets pulled last night.  It's been a pretty rough year here for crops, so its actually a pretty meagre harvest compared to most years... but it's still a good amount of delicious garden veggies to keep us going for a bit.

Nice @bRIBEGuy!  My wife grew some Japanese eggplants and some sort of hot peppers as a trial this year.  She did well.. however squirrels took a few of the eggplants.

Ha, squirrels are pests!  Luckily we don't have many where I am specifically, but we do loose a TON of strawberries and raspberries to birds.

I'd LOVE to be able to do eggplants and such, but our growing season is pretty short, and our weather here can be kind of "harsh".  Usually we stick to basics.... potatoes, carrots, beets, tomatoes, herbs, onions, garlic, shallots... we've had some luck with hot peppers (Jalapeno, habanero, thai chilli), but tend to have big issues with insects killing the plants over the past few years.

That's awesome.   Come to think of it, my pops in Tokyo has a mini farm.   He is like 135 years old, but kickin'.    His harvest is like going to a farmer's market.  He does 20-30 or so different vegetables and ends up giving them most away to his neighbors for conversation.   You can imagine has A LOT of friends from 2-3 yrs old to like 150.. :D

Enjoy eating your harvest!   Garden vegetables are always fun to eat.

I played around with the MF01x spacer

RqWqnj8.png

The design is pretty straight forward. The green section can be skewed in the Z axis to any amount. It can then be merged with the end sections to make an MF01x spacer of any size you'd want (minimum is 8 mm extension which is no green section at all). So if you've got a custom body that just won't fit any car well, this spacer plus MF01x arm options means you've got pretty much any width and wheelbase you might ever want.

I've no use for it, but if anyone else might benefit, give me a shout.

I also ordered 5 mm aluminium for a prop shaft and beige paint for the JP trail build.

No, and I kick myself for it ALL the time.  Farm King and Kumoman Tractor are two kits that I wished I had!

Raining today so I changed the gearing in my FF03 because it seemed to be slower than the silver can it came with last I ran it and I didn’t feel like changing the motor/esc. Also put the grasshopper back together, just waiting on some shocks for it and it’ll be back to speed runs :D

Then I decided to finally put my tc01 together, lot simpler and less parts than I thought it would be/have. Forgot I never bought an esc or servo for it so guess it’s time to order more stuff :D

In other news, I received my MiniZ so took it out for a quick test drive.

The body is very well made, definitely can be a toy for adults no problem.  I took the car over some humpbacks.  :D

Excellent throttle modulation, plenty of torque for the steering servo, excellent articulation.   And I did not even have to leave my pretend RC shop to drive it.  Very cool.

I too was impressed with the Mini Z 4x4.  I was even happier once I added the oil shocks.  Much more controlled.

Checked in 120+ kg of goodies (~£160 of excess fees) for the trip home.

Haha!  I promise, nothing like that.

I saw that Kyosho made some terrain for these crawlers so I think I’m going to get one to drive on.  I don’t need anything serious.

@tamiya3speed if you don’t mind, which oil dampers did you go with?   I searched several vendors and they have the Kyosho dampers but the reviews say the oil leak.. (?).  I can’t have leaky dampers as I will only be driving this on my areal rug in my pretend RC shop..  TIA!
