For me, got a change to drive my buddy’s new Alfa Romeo at my usual hair salon after getting my hair cut.  Nice ride.

So for today, making a paper towel dispenser, soap dispenser, and bottle dispenser for Willy’s wash basin..  wish me hope.

Good question, I’m not sure what this is either..

More work on the extended cabin Juggernaut.

The pinions I ordered came in, but I think they are not quite the correct size to fit into the Jugg's gearbox. The neck with the screw is too long.
So ordered different ones at Tamico, as well as paint and custom licence plates to keep the shipping costs reasonable. So I should have enough stuff now to get me through this winter.

Hid the nasty looking cardboard edges with watered down PVA glue and some scrap paper. From this,...

Basically, just Papier mache to hide the edges of the cardboard.

Still got to do the straight sections, I might even paint it, and draw some crazy directions on the track.

More to come.

Project dumpster fire is done :D got it all painted on thanksgiving and did all the stickers today, last time (first time too) I used this tape I just kinda put it on quick without caring, as all the lines old be covered with decals, I was amazed at how perfect the lines were, nice crisp perfect edges. This time I made sure the tape was pressed tightly and paint couldn’t possibly get past, and it sure didn’t work , but I did everything quickly just eyeballing it all, nothing is symmetrical, centered, same thickness, etc. In the end I’m happy with this disaster, kinda looks like I meant for it to look like a kid took a giant marker and drew on some designs. Plus since I didn’t put much effort into making it perfect it won’t hurt when it gets destroyed racing around this winter :)

Got The Wild One out today. Its been awhile since I ran this low COG, tail heavy classic. It was a great buggy long before the Blockhead treatment. I was surprised by its speed on tarmac with just a stock silvercan. With all that weight out back, when the buggy does tear loose some of the rough-stuff, it does so with a certain savagery as seen in the pics.

WO4 WO5 WO6

I really buried the throttle in those turns and it shows, churning that mulch with aggression.

Another dreary, wet, dark day today so I spent a few hours finishing off the main chassis build of my 'Purple Haze' TA03F-Pro

Still a few things to do....I need another set of those Killerbody rims from somewhere for starters, and to make a decision on electronics. But it's getting there 😎

For the most part got the BHWO finished last night.   I knew I'd like the looks but in person, couple of the details really make it stand out.   Fairly stock with just bearings, softer rear springs and a modified mounting for the window nets and rear number plates.   I also sprayed the body and roof with a flat clear to knock down the shine.

If you are making stuff with cardboard can I suggest Makedo. Its incredible and great for the kids to learn basic engineering skills.

I cut down my FJ45 bed.

I picked up these shells for Aliexpress as a way to get 1/12 bodies to match the Jeep, Pumpkin and Lunchbox. They are great, but have a very long rear bed. For The blue body on the GF01 this isn't too much of a problem as I can extend the wheelie bar with 3D printed spacer (I already need to do this as I extended the wheelbase 15 mm or so by flipping the rear arms).

But my QD is more of a problem. There is no wheelie bar, and with a brushless motor it wants to wheelie a lot. With a long bed a wheelie would put the base of the bed on the ground removing the tail lights or worse.

So I made it a short bed using a saw. I had had a few birthday beers and I was amazed at how straight the cut was. TBH I removed too much (I had had a few beers after all...) and the bed could have be 2 cm longer without touching the ground, which would have made it look like a real FJ45 shortbed, but I guess it gives a comical look befitting the driver. Ahhh sweet sober hindsight.

As always Edgarmon drives.

I am kinda torn. Essentially I would prefer it somewhere in the middle of the two beds. For the QD I think I will add a spare tire and Jerry can to the tail gate to visually space it out a little or will get another body at around £17 to try again. At the moment the rear is taped on but I will bolt on, perhaps with hinge and latch to make a feature of the cut?

I may decide to cut down the FJ45 on the GF01 too, but I see how it looks with a new wheelie bar. It's amazing how 3 cm can swing between comically long and comically short.

I have also got lots of panel lines on both, can anyone recommend a good pen please? A Gundam marker or something?

Well after filling up my tank on the way to lunch my truck decided to not start, seems the fuel pump connector decided to melt :( so after towing that home and then going out to lunch I spent the afternoon working on that instead of a Tamiya :(, I did however spent the last hour finishing up my Ford GT body though, what started as a miss is now a hit I think. Just need to find my spare Billy to mount in there somehow :D

here’s a pic of the inside that kinda shows the mess the outside looked like, whole car was a green, yellow, blue mixed runny mess, the blue covered most of the mess on the inside.

and now it’s much better

It is raining season in PNW, so I ended up building the hornet today. Really enjoyed the build except it was pain to put rear wheels on tires(My fingers are still sore).

Unfortunately will have to wait on finishing the shell due to the rain…

Finished the rear wheel wells.  Guess what my daughter had for lunch!?!  Lol!

Unfortunately, the containers don’t take paint very well.  The paint on the fronts flaked off while fiddling with it.  Yes I used primer, and yes I hit it with sandpaper, and yes I used soapy water prior to paint.  Oh well…

Also used some old brass tube to make a couple of mufflers.  Hammered into shape, holes drilled and filed, black paint followed by gloss aluminum (ts17).  I’ll hit it with a flame and some sandpaper once paint cures to get some patina.

On a side note, RC_Persy sent me the “simple Blackfoot interior”.  It’s made for the hardbody BF body, and so it needs some mods to fix my lexan.  First mod was magnet mounts…

It also came with two bucket seats so that is being converted to a bench seat.  Paint and then some pleather to give to some snaz.

Tamiya putty across the top of the dash to hide print lines.  This will be sanded flat once dry.

Need to find a driver figure.  These seats are way to high in overall elevation so my 6” driver figure was too tall.  I’ll have to find a Blazer driver figure instead, I think.
