got a bit antsy with a few projects of the small variety. had the plastic Aoshima 03 1/32 Sileighty model shell washed a while back and didnt have time to primer or paint it. got a bit bored with tech stuff and mr hobby base white primered it white and put ps-30 brilliant blue.  i still have a top coat to make good coverage and then paint the interior so it doesn't look weird when assembled. i know its not the proper paint for the plastic shell but the shade is perfect and its going to be a static model.

hopefully tomorrow is enough for me to take the tape off the manta ray jr and was the shell for paint prep.

gotta love computers and tech. waste enough days on it and you'll look for a more analog past time.

For me, going to swap out the wheels in my trike today and assemble the trolley I got for the LandCruiser pickup,   If I feel like it, I plan to make a fluid extractor pump for Willy's shop next.   .. wish me hope.. 

Update.. I did not know the hex on these wheels are smaller.. can't use my 12mm.. 

 

Update.. so I got off my lazy butt and went digging in my wine cellar to find the box which also had the spares inside.. wheew.

Spent too long diagnosing what turned out to be a simple transmitter settings issue, fitted a TBLM 10.5T motor, lowered the suspension back to stock height and fitted the right wheels and softer tyres to my XV-01 Escort From The Seventies. It drifts round corners like it's being driven by a macho copper from 1977 with a bad leather jacket and a disregard for public safety, which is exactly as it should be.

And my dog has finally plucked up the courage to give it a sniff.

Finished assembling the trolley I bought off Amazon.. it's the same as the blue one I got earlier.   

Ofcourse I like to mod it by laying down some padding..anti-slip looking mat.

I just realized my account here only has about 6% attachment memory left..  I deleted as much non gallery stuff as possible up to quite recently.    I posted my trike and it went over my total limit..  sorry for polluting the internets ..  

So when I hit 100%, I think that would be the end of Willy iine on Tamiya Club.  I will migrate to IG if you guys want to check out my onroad (touring car, F1) and rally stuff coming up in 2023.. followed by pretend RC shop expansion, Mini-Z EVO, and others.

Are you suggesting no more posting here? I assume/hope not. If you just mean picture then unfortunately you can't embed IG posts here but you can embed Flickr links. It means you don't use up space here and can make the most of the Flickr's free membership tier.

Why not become a subscriber then you get access to TC photos that has unlimited upload. Not sure of the fee in dollars but it’s peanuts for a year

I will definitely be doing stories on a daily (frequent?) basis and posting up the finished car along with how it got there on IG.   

@GeeWings thanks, I don't usually upload on host sites as I've had issues in the past where the host went out of business and all the associated DIY threads went to crap.    Another reason why I don't do build threads anymore.. besides the fact that I'm not a pioneer so what I do is just a poor repeat of someone else.. how boring is seeing that besides for comedy.  lol.  

And I remain anonymous so I don't pay forums for data.. I try to contribute as much as I can where I can by content..well, given they're decent..

Oh no bud, that's such a shame to hear Willy👎 I'm sure a very resourceful chap such as yourself could continue to contribute to the forum and simply work around issues, such image hosting, to enable you to stay part of the community bud?🤷🏻

Perhaps revisit the solution of image hosting with fresh eyes. Imgur, for example, is very good and easy to use, in particular on the mobile. And with regard to the potential to lose image uploads in the future if they went the way of say Photobucket, that only really effects build threads and as you don't do those anymore no issues there👍

From what I know of you I feel that when you've thought things through and made your mind up, you don't like to sway, but in this case it would be such a shame for you to step away from the TC family over a tech issue that we all face. Forums are a bit old school now, with the likes of Insta etc. but hey, most of us are old school too!😂 So to continue to use ageing tech, requires some flexibility here and there. Here's hoping you can flex, reconsider and find a solution mate🤞The forum wouldn't be the same without you and hey come on its Christmas, the time for giving, not buggin' out!😂🌲☃️❄️

Here here. Willy, I am in awe of your talents, which are matched only by your modesty, and always look forward to coming back to see your latest endeavours. They are a real highlight of TC. 

I don't really know anything about the tech issues. I do have an Instagram account but I don't really use things like that. Dinosaur maybe. My attachments limit here got swallowed up almost immediately but I find pasting a Flickr link to be so quick and seamless I've had no interest in finding any other way. And I come here for the sense of community more than anything else, so for me RC = TC. Also, I sort of compartmentalise, so RC is here. It's like a private happy place for me where wider social media is mixing up all sides of life, which doesn't appeal to me.

Guys, thanks for the positive feedback.  I will look into options noted above.  

Is it against forum rules to establish a second account and link the photo from that account?   If yes, never mind.  

For today, I decided Willy needs more impact drivers so making two more.   

It’s great I can use repurposed scrap to make these.

Finally got my DT-03 built. I’d initially intended to do an Aqcroshot conversion from the get go, but that hasn’t happened (…yet).
