I finished my 2nd M05.

My first car was a 1985 Honda CRX Si. I still have her, too! Since then I've had a love affair with 1st generation Honda CRXs. I've been wanting to do one of these for years. And I finally got off my butt and did it. Instead of a mini-me of my 1/1 (which is in need of some love..) I built it as a JDM 1983 Ballade Sports CR-X 1.5i in Baltic Blue. Which is essentially the same as what we got in the US as the 1985 CRX Si.

I'm quite happy with how it came out, despite a few minor imperfections here and there!

Beautiful scale work. Had to look twice to be sure it's not a real car!

Besides the Fantom, drove my momentum car. :D M03.   Very cool and relaxing to drive.

Brass rings and hairbun donut “foams” (trying again with XL instead of L) to replace the stock AL rings and foams.

Desert Lizard shocks tweaked again.  Back to 100mm shafts with medium to spring and light droop spring.  275cst oil.

Butter…

Thanks! Haha. It's a little bit smaller than the 1/1.

One day the 1/1 will look that good again.

Not today, but Sunday I went sailing and determined that the lack of range and glitching I had when I last drove the Kyosho Trail King was not due to the car, or the batteries, but the radio. I use the same radio for the sailboat and discovered that the Kyosho radio, for some reason, now has approximately 10' of range. I am annoyed by this fact, as I only use a stick radio for the Trail King and the sailboat.

I bought a Flysky FS-i6, which is ugly, and possibly overly complicated for what I'm doing, but receivers are AUD$15 (vs ~ AUD$50 for the Kyosho receiver) and readily available... should I require a second, smaller sailboat

I also ran the GF01 dump-truck on Saturday afternoon, which I enjoyed immensely, as well as some other Traxxas and Kyosho offerings.

@GeeWings  That Mario Kart build is phenomenal... how do we convince Tamiya to team up with Nintendo??

@lsear2905 I bought one of these HK specials ages ago to use on my Bruiser (when I get around to building it, only had it 10yrs this year )

The issue I have is that the carbon shift gate I have wont fit over the sticks, and no matter what I’ve tried, I don't seem to be able to remove them, I thought they would just unscrew.

Do the ones on the Flysky unscrew?

Thanks @lsear2905, I had a lot of fun putting it together. Trying to work out what Donkey Kongs ride should be now 😂

Sorry to hear about the radio problems, at least i guess now you know what it is you can find/buy a solution.

Checked out of Glasgow to head off to Edinburgh. But before I left, visited a nearby model shop. Nothing I really fancy so bought a can of PS-55 before leaving.

I did sit him on my Comical hornet chassis today and the GF01. However I’m actually thinking a smaller, much smaller, chassis could be funny. I have a spare mudmad I might play with…

For me, charged up the Fantom's battery (I'm just running NiMH) and noticed the charge amount increased from 1500 to about 1900mAh running three 12min cycles per pack on my 3600mAh.  So I am pushing the car a bit more now.   I may go down to 10min cycles so that I can keep >50% charge in the cells before recharge.

I stripped and rebuilt the Tamiya aluminium shocks (54993) on the front of my DT-03 with new o-rings which has transformed them. The old ones (old and new both red) were really squeezing the shaft when the bottom part of the shock body was done up the last turn, creating considerable extra friction. Have they expanded? They're less than a year old.

How often do you replace yours? Do you expect them not to last?

Come to think of it, I'm not sure these shocks weren't a bit sticky from the outset. Anyway, they feel better now.

I’ve started replacing the O-rings with 1up Racing x-rings and a little green slime.  No more sticking.

I guess I assumed x rings to be above my pay grade but on the front of this buggy they're probably worth having. Assuming they reduce friction as well as sealing better? I don't have an issue with leakage.

Today i was notified that Tamico had gotten Blackfoot bodies back in stock so i ordered one of those to have one each for my Blackfoot and ORV Ranger.

I also added an on sale T3-01 Dancing Rider (+bearings+a couple of escs) to the order because it seems like fun, gonna be putting one of those all-in-one FPV cameras in (stead of?) the helmet of the driver for leaning FPV driving :)

Also ordered two small 2s lipos to fit the Dancing Rider as well as a four pack of flysky rxs (as im short rxs for my tt02, Midnight Pumpkin and the incoming Dancing Rider).

I was looking at that charger. Well, SKYRC T100 which looks the same. You're pleased with it?
