@ThunderDragonCy Stunning HS2, mate! Great job! Same for you @Willy iine with your Bug, how lovely it came out  I really like that colour, perfect for that body. Is it called corsa gray? My mama used to have a baby blue coloured one when I was a kid 🤩 it was old, stinky, it'd drop parts on the way (I think I remember seeing light through the floor) and we absolutely loved it until its last day.

Today I worked on the tire sidewall lettering on my Mid. Almost done, not just yet as it took me longer than usual. Got a bit annoyed with two orders gone wrong. One was a transmitter/receiver set that I got as backup, lost in hyperspace so I got a refund, and will have to order it again somewhere else. The other, and more important right now, is a tiny tube of elusive green slime. That too was lost on the way, seller agreed to re-ship, so I'm waiting to see how/when and if he'll do it 🙄😬

On a better note, I went out for a walk with my wife in the afternoon since the weather was finally good today, and I brought the loyal Manta Ray along. Great fun at the park.

Turned in the 3D printer to make the new Juggernaut battery tray, a 7 hour print. Abs printing really stinks up the Ray-cave so no access to that today.

So time to do the downstairs skirting boards, they have only been on the to-do list for 5 years....

Sorted out the wheelbase issue on my TA02SW Porsche 934 Turbo RSR Black edition.  For those  that know, the kit comes with a beautiful body but the wheelbase is slightly off (front wheel towards the front of the wheel well, rear wheel towards the rear of the wheel well).  I was annoyed enough to finally have a go at it.  First photo shows the front left side corrected (4mm).  Second shows the rear left side corrected (3mm).    image.thumb.png.4194ffbf8efa6310f912cdad72efa757.png

Good job @Killajb!   That is a significant reduction and improvement.   I was about to order the 40th? 45th? a while back and get the 3rd party CF deck, but with the UK postal issues I decided to postpone..  indefinitely at the moment.

The lure of eBay struck again.

Was out and about with the kids when an item I was watching said only 15 mins was left.

So put in a lowish bid and left it.

Now I've bought a TB Evo 6 MS for the princely sum of £99 plus £12 postage. Comes with box, manual, some spare gears, tyre and an a R1 brushless motor. I can see it only has CVAs rather than TRF dampers, needs a good clean, some scratches on the anodised parts, but the rest looks not too bad. Let's see what turns up!

Heading out of town now, hoping to get some good RC action this afternoon.

The 3D printer finally finished the new Juggers battery tray after 8 hours of printing.

Sadly, there was a misprint due to an incorrect setting causing the printbed to warp up. Oh well, live and learn. I will need to do a re-print at some point anyway and correct the settings then... (probable some time during summer, when the garage is quite warm which is good for ABS printing, and I can just leave the hole thing to print on its own).

However, it was still usable to check if the basic idea was OK. Some minor adjustments are required but overall I'm happy with it.

A shorty LIPO will fit behind the engines so the front has space for a driver figure in a recessed area (due to the body being lowered 3centimeters from original with regard to the chassis), and it will also give me a hinge point at the bottom aft to keep the hinging action on the pickup bed for battery replacement. So overall, a good step in the right direction. ^_^

Good job @Ray_ve !   I donno how it was suppose to turn out, but looks good to me!  B)

For me, worked on the Mini-Z EVO AWD setting for the STI body.  Using wide double wishbone set up on the rear to push the rear out as far as possible and added some camber for additional stability through the corners.   Also pushed out the front wheels as well.  Even with stock tires the car drives very well for a narrow body.  Can't wait to get the stickier tires soon.  :D

Wow. They look amazing.

I imagine you've got another set for running?!

This question hits where it hurts 🤣

The original plan was -and technically, still is- to run them, but who am I kidding...

I love how they look now and it took me a while to get the lettering done, so it would make sense to keep them pristine at this point. I do have another set of Bridgestone and of course there's the kit tires too, but I lack the rims. I might just get a set of white pepper pot wheels so I can run the extra tires I have.

I'm afraid this line of thought will be applied to the whole buggy by the time I finish it :( the more effort I put in the builds, the harder it gets to run the models after. But I also really want to see them come to life, which is what they are meant to do! A common conundrum of our hobby I guess.

I haven't built mine yet but I went for some aftermarket wheels from jc racing:

I "finished" the M05 CR-X. Again. Until the next time I do something to it.

And here I told myself this car was going to stay simple.

Pictures of a 1st gen CRX taken on the deck lid of a 3rd gen CRX. Haha.

That was actually my first real car

Another MN shell arrived today, this time a nice Land Rover D90. Cost around £18 if you are prepared to wait a month or so for postage on the slow boat . The snorkel broke off in transport, but otherwise looks pretty good. I may go for a pickup style by making my own roof.

I put it on my QD with Yellow wheels which was the initial plan..

TDXSfLS.jpg

Although clearly not made for the QDs, it lines up really well! The colour match is really pretty good; it's not perfect, but with the gap between the body and wheels it's not too obvious at all (and a much closer match than for example the Heavy Dump Chassis and body/wheels!).

But then I wondered if I might like it more with white white wheels, and it does look pretty sweet. I also added all the plastic accessories.

Over the yellow?

x6ueiGJ.jpg

The problem is the white wheels are on my other QD

0PkLW1F.jpg

Which if I swapped would have to look like this, which I'm not sure I like, but could grow on me...

wjGXneP.jpg

So what do you think I should do? Move the FJ45 onto the yellow wheel chassis and put the D90 on white, or go with the initial plan and put the D90 on yellow wheels and keep the FJ45 with white ones? Or get another pair of white wheels both look better that way?

Either way pretty happy with the body, like the other MN bodies it's pretty cheap, and although not great QC looks quite sturdy. I would be annoyed about the snorkel, but life's too short.

It will get some livery and Edgarmon of course.

All of them looking great@Nikko85. But I'm slightly leaning towards the yellow rims for the Land Rover, which looks gorgeous as a monster truck by the way. With the yellow wheels it looks like a Camel Trophy Monster. I would keep the white wheels on the Toyota.

After years, I bought a new Tamiya Kit 😁 I always liked M-chassis bodies, so I'll try to build a mini 4wd rally machine. Now I need to spend some time in CAD.. but I already made first piece of the puzzle

Not much going on with me today..drove my M06L Beetle this morning and then my Mini-Z's between work.  I forgot to mention a few days ago I pre-ordered the Kyosho 240Z.   Hope to have it soon.. B)

This is my last car purchase until Fall..  It looks like I'm going to be firing up my 1:1 car hobby in a few weeks at this rate of weather warming up.  :D

I still have below cars to build in cue..

XM1Competition (m-chassis), F104 Pro2 with double deck CF, XV02 Pro (might as well build the XV01 as well), Kyosho Ultima, Kyosho TurboScorpion (my black edition), Fighting Buggy.. no particular order, but I think I'm going to build the Ultima next.

Been a while since I did anything, so this was a really cathartic experience this evening. "Just" a humble TT02, started at 9pm and got this far by 11pm, including building the CVAs. Not bad. Can you tell where I'm heading with it from just the wheels?
