I was using two JX servos before then switched to SPT. I found it more accurate and specs are true. But one brand that I really like is Power HD. No fuzz. What they put in the spec sheet is absolutely true as well.

Thanks, I usually run 1251 and 1252MG's on my faster cars, but since the Scorpion and Tomohawk are vintage cars even before the TurboScorpion I decided to use a lower performance servo to sort of match that era..  my TurboScorpion's are running 1251MG's.

But if you say the JX could be a limiting factor for the XV02, I'll just run the 1251MG.

I run a PowerHD BL servo in my 420X.  B)  It's a good servo.

Do you mind sharing where you found those at that price?  Also, I assume it the PDI-6208MG?

Amazon..  they only had a couple more left at that price.   JX PDI-5508MG

Sorry for the naive question, but does the Pro need hopups?   I was hoping it would be all included..

I will be driving the XV.  Actually all my cars are driven.  I am going to be doing a BL version Scorpion/TurboScorpion dedicated for outdoors down the road as well.

Well some people would tell you they're fine but aluminum suspension mounts are very important (many don't realize this until they've tried) as well as the aluminum steering set especially on the XV-02 which is prone to breaking easily. XV-02 owners replace them with TB-05 steering set with a little modding and/or Yeah Racing aluminum steering set which is a direct fit. So far those two. But if it were me, I'll also change the plastic shock towers to CF, front and rear CVD, metal diff gears to name a few. ;)

Knowing you, you'll probably end up building two or three. One being box stock (for display at the Petit RC Shop), two will be fully modified with three different bodies in total. :D

Thanks for the info.  B)

Just got back from my dentist and he fixed my tooth.. he is so good, I am back in business.. of course the first thing I grabbed when I got home was a big bag of black pepper and sea salt waffle potato chips.. chomp chomp.. :D

As for the number of rally cars, I only plan to build this and the standard XV01 I have in my NIB storage both with Delta bodies.   When I built the 420X, it reconfirmed to me that for me, my touring body car days are long gone.  I just don't find excitement as I do with legendary buggies like the Egress, Avante, Kyosho's buggies primarily because the suspension bits and everything mechanically cool all tucked under the body.  While real cars are exciting to look at for the sheer size and detail, I am not so much into polycarbonate body touring cars.  Again, this is just me.

If you think about it, my primary Willy/Billy cars like the M38, M151, FastTimeAttack Vehicle, XR311, Sand Scorcher, Beetle, Pumpkin, ClubBugs, Pajero, etc are all hard shell.  I'm just a hard shell kind of guy.  The M06 Beetle is polycarbonate but has hard plastic decor so that is better..  Of course if Tamiya included plastic wipers it would've been even better, but oh well.

Spent the day cleaning up the King Cab.  This one was a bit special to me since my father had helped my cousin build this back in the day when it was released.  Spent majority of its life in a garage and almost ended up getting thrown out by my aunt.  Luckily I was able to save it but I never got around to working on it until I got back into the hobby.

There was a ton of dirt and grime from over the years and it never got cleaned up after its last run.  Unfortunately I didn't take any before photos as I wasn't even sure how it'd turn out, but I'm happy with the end result.

I've been working on this for a few evenings now. I decided I needed something to test my patience and drive me borderline-insane, so I built an Orlandoo OH32X02.

Not really Tamiya, but kinda' Tamiya? I used the decal set from 58161 rescaled to 1/28th scale to fit a 1/32nd scale truck and they were the perfect size! My only gripe is that I used a masking tape I'd never used before and there was some pretty significant bleedthrough.  But if you look past that, this little rig came out great!

Have you seen anyone on here say any kit doesn't need hopups?

They don't if you're not running it much. It probably has plastic suspension blocks and they will develop play quickly. I'm not sure what the XV02 needs (I assume it doesn't use the standard touring car ones?) but Yeah Racing are decent too, as the Tamiya ones can end up being USD50 for both ends which is heaps for a shelfer

Also, they sometimes come with plastic wheel hexes. I know right?

I'm with you there, buy the best one to start, much cheaper in the long run!

Right on.  I wish they sold fully loaded kits.. like a XV02-TRF.  Then no time wasted.

Repowered and regeared my Traxxas Telluride tonight, swapped the Traxxas Titan 21t 550 for a Holmes Hobbies Trailmaster Sport 21t 550.

I also put a metal gear set in the 2075 I swapped into it years ago.  The motor seems like it is better, but I need to get this out on the rocks now too, hopefully I’ll get to that tomorrow on this and the Jimny.

Tried glueing some window wipers on the Blitzer Beetle, gave up, I'll try again tomorrow

I remember it being easy with my old Monster Beetle, somehow it's gotten hard, I guess the wipers aren't meant to be flush with the windscreen

Making a beetle shell is a lot of work, haha

Were out with the kids yesterday in blistering sun and 12C temp running the Thunder Dragon and Terra Scorcher. We had a great time and I see they have a whole other level of control over these cars than on a hopper, which is a joy for me.

Kids of today have so many other things to do, so it needs to be low effort, or they loose interest. The Dragons are both capable and easy runners (with Silvercan and 14t pinion on 7,2 Nihm), so a success so far.

Pics will have to wait until I get my new phone this week. My current only takes pics looking like I'm using gay pride-filter now.

Not sure why Tamiya wouldn't do this. Even if they jack up the price, people will still buy it. Because one, it's Tamiya. Two, it has blue bits. Those blue anodized aluminum matched with CF is just magnetizing. It hypnotizes our eyes and makes us forget our wallet. :D:lol:

Found my first RC today at my parents house lurking behind some planes. It must 40 years old. Apparently it still works and sporting battle scars from a cartwheel down the stairs into the living room.

I had a lot of fun with it and was usually the first thing to be packed when going on holiday. Most of my pocket money went on batteries for it. Unfortunately never a match for my mates flashy Tamiya Subaru Brat, happy days none the less.

More Jugger work to get to the point where I can finally start painting the body parts...

Added strenghteners to the interior plate to firm it up so the body that is attached to this plate sits better.

niwXIV6.jpg

Then I realised I have forgotten 2 posts from the rollcage to the pickup bed. So I made the holes in the bed and cut the posts to size.
I need to glue those in place and then cut them both vertically just after the cabin so the bed can hinge up again.

zjOiTsP.jpg

Also, I filled the seam in the hood, and the recessed door handeles with a tube of Tamiya puty white but that was a bad mistake.
This thin filler is OK for small gaps but it cracks on anything that is bigger because it shrinks to about half its size when drying.
So I think a 2K filler like milliputty will work better, as it hopefully won't shrink that much.

Tinkering around with my alloy wheels!  was going to put them on my optima mid then I decided to put them on what they were bought for and then decided they looked better with this body because of the gold around the flames!

I usually just drop a dab of plastic cement on the pivot point, not on the glass. If I need adhesion on the glass side as well, I would use double sided tape under the blade contact area..  GL!!

For me, finally the weather outside calmed down so took my 1:1 WRX STI out for a nice drive this morning.  :D I am going to be removing the car covers off my GR Supra and Golf-R maybe Wednesday to prepare for their oil changes latter part of the week.. so I better get moving on the XV02 build.. yesterday ended up working on Akira's corner instead of starting the build..posted on Instagram and Kogawa-san appeared impressed.  B) I posted a picture in the gallery thread as well (also in my profile "about me" section).

I really like it. Nice smooth drivetrain, suspension with kit cva is lovely. Even the kit tyres are good on grass with some inserts in. Excited to run it at the next track day. Its running 10.5 speed passion which is a bit fast for my liking these days, but the buggy has no bother with it at all. It came to me with the slipper and universals, but it's still on ball diffs and they seem good. TLDR: Lovely chassis ruined with awful shell

What a beauty... it turned out perfect!

And wow @Re-Bugged, amazing find right there! 😉🤙 are you going to take it with you to join the existing fleet, or will it stay at your parents? Things such as finding your first RC car right where you left it are just priceless... I can imagine the great feeling, mate! Enjoy 🤗

Today we went for a little trip outside of town, looking for some new places to break the routine. No big deal, but we found some and it was nice!

I brought the Terra Scorcher along, amd it proved to be a great choice for the playground.

The frost is starting to thaw, big time. The snow was firm enough to run the buggy though, so I had to take a calculated risk 😅 I walked on the river to enjoy the TS there, couldn't resist! Good times.
