Went backyard bashing with my nephews. The throttle limit switch on the DX3 Smart transmitter is very handy in situations like this :D

Long weekend so more Jugger time.

The interior will have a steering wheel for the driver figure, and I want the wheel to turn with steering so it get a servo attached.

Needed to fix a shaft coupler to the servo, so I took a short piece of 6mm metal pipe and filed saw-like teeth to one end.
Took the splined center of a plasic servo horn (took off the tabs), heated the pipe and pressed it into the plastic.
Screwed this onto the servo to get a 6mm output shaft for the coupler.

Made servo mounting points using plastic and helicoils I never tried so this was a good oppertunity.

Glued it all in place, job done.

I also want a solid front bumper, so filled all the gaps to get a one-piece bumper.

Working on the extra 2 posts for the rollcage now to get those primed and ready for mounting.

Another C-Avante run with Daughter today. Got quite dirty, needed a 15min shower, leaves/stones/dirt was pouring non stop out off it:

FYI: I was able to remove branch beford shower.

Soon done with my Subaru Impreza 1/24 Tamiya Model, last day with Decals work today hoppfully…

As it is Easter I decided to take the Top Force to church for its maiden voyage.

It’s amazing! I was little worried that a rere might seem a little old fashioned after all the newer cars but not a bit of it. It is so good.

Finally manned me up to modify my GT5 TX to fit the 2S lipo I bought for it last summer. There is not much left of the original battery tray now. I made myself more work than needed. First I did not notice that the buttons for trim-adjustment had fallen out and were on the floor. When I built the TX together again I squashed the negative  wire from the battery-Connecticut, so I had to solder that. Now it's working fine and the lipo is tied up tight with foam.

I also made new  sprint shoes for the M-05 Golf. Inspired by Willy Iine I painted the dull, grey wheels in TS-38.

Done with the decals on my 1/24 Tamiya model, i will go over it a few more times tomorrow with Decal softner. Manage to get everyone on there this time, and with Rally Cars its a lot off them, so happy with that.

spacer.png

Next is to spray the lexan body off my TT-01e Subaru. That chassis is very low (to low for Rally Cars) so i got no where close to run it, it needs very fine gravel or nice and even Tarmac, but i now have a Rc Bag so i will pack it down and find a nice place for it

Today I followed through with something I've been wanting to do for a while. I've had this bad boy sitting around in my spares box for the last two yearsScreenshot-20230409-183637-Gallery.jpgand I wanted to place it in its natural habitat: my good old RC10.

In order to do so, I had to replace the ESC. I ordered yet another HW 1060, and what showed up in the mail was an unbranded one this time, but I guess that's on me since I only paid 16 dollars for it shipping included... at this point, might as well give it a try!

After getting all the ingredients on the table, I could finally open that bag.20230409-121528.jpg

The motor feels good! I hope it will be high performance as it's supposed to. It should look great on the car with the golden open endbell 😀20230409-122754.jpg

First things first, I started by breaking in the brushes a little. Feel free to laugh, this is -and has always been- my humble method to achieve this 😅 I never went as far as dipping it in water and such things. 15 mins or so of gentle free spinning on 1.5V, some compressed air (usually straight from my lungs) to blow off the dust, and off we go.20230409-132903.jpg

The old ESC:20230409-133654.jpg Its performance is far from great, but I clinged to it this far for a few other reasons: the black/gold colors that match the car, and mostly the old school feel. When it comes to ESCs, it hardly gets any more vintage than the Futaba MC210CB, one of the first ever electronic speed controllers if I remember correctly...?

The new one looks as anonymous and discreet as it gets..20230409-134208.jpg at least no colours that will clash with the car's scheme. As long as it works I'm ok with it.

A little while later, and after some test fitting, it's done. Wires were barely long enough for the task without feeling too stretched out. Good, I'll take it!20230409-145050.jpg

Once powered up, it sounds promising!! Man I missed the sound of a hot brushed motor... I've been spending too much time with brushless lately.

Happy with the looks... can't wait to drive it in anger now!!🔥

Actually started last night - reworking my unfinished JK Jeep to get it running properly (and maybe even finished).

PXL_20230410_151142079.TS_exported_903_1

I even started a thread for it, at least a couple of years after I first built it, as there seems more of an appetite for non-Tamiya here these days.

Nearly finished my Manta Force, it’s an upgraded Manta Ray with  a few carbon fibre bits that I have made.

I have a top force evo body to fit, l had a Top Force before but it looked so nice I couldn’t bring myself to run it 😂.

so I am building this so I don’t cry if I crash it.

Did a test run on TT-01e Subaru I. build today and all was good right away. I now see in the manual that i need TS-29 paint for the spoiler, but I will rather buy new rims than spray them with gold as im sure they will scratch right away.

Those off you with a proper spray paint chamber/booth inkl fan inside are some lucky 🍀 ********, figured out the hard way that both spray paint in the cold or inside is just a terrible idea so all paint jobs que up for perfect conditions.

Glued some parts using 2 component araldite, placed the mixing stick on a shelf to keep it safe but that failed, removing araldite from my hair now....

I was going to do the Nismo GTR LM too but I wasnt wearing my big boy pants early enough in the year. I looked at the way it needed masking to separate the pink areas from the white, particularly around the front bumper and bottled it for another time.

Finally finish the TT02 and took it out for it's first drive on a lovely spring day. The body looks great now it's got a little mud on it to help cover up some of my dodgy sticker application! I hadn't thought about the number of stickers involved when we chose it! We built it stock as a joint project with my son, but we definitely need to swap out the pogo sticks for something better, he wasn't too impressed with the bouncing. We set up the postal racing track and took it round that to test it out a bit. It seems much more suited to that kind of track than the dt-03 is, so hopefully with some better dampers we might start to be a bit more competitive. Any tips on which dampers to go for?

IMG-20230408-WA0007.jpg

If you cut the body posts I promise to share my best damper pro tips :D Congrats on a beautiful car, the body must have been some work especially for the stickers.

For me, besides working from home today, been going back and forth trying to decide which buggy to get for bashing outdoors....  I have the TT02B and DF02 for 4WD bashing so only looking for 2WD.  I am leaning towards the Scorpion with a different color scheme.. will run BL, light duty LeMans 19.5.

Today I bent the longer steering rod on my parts-built "holiday" Lunch Box, bent it back into shape and re-adjusted the steering so that it almost goes in a straight line.  Although with it being on the stock pogo sticks it of course bounces off its intended trajectory at the slightest opportunity.

I've also ordered some spare steering rods for future holiday trips in case bending back isn't an option, made a note to dig out some spare adjuster ends from my spare parts and ordered a headlight kit.

I salute your work ethic mate…similar conditions saw me brave the rear wing of a MB CLK-DTM, but that was as far as I was willing to push it in the wildly variable weather. Chapeau to your efforts 🫡

Put my few hop-ups on today:)…. miserable weather and back to work tomorrow so I need to have a chill out day before I’m back to the unbearable stress of work at the moment!
