I’m from Lincolnshire originally. My wife and I met whilst we were both living in Cambridge and then moved to Essex about 5 years ago. It’s a great area.

One set of Jugger's wheels was painted, busy painting the 2nd set.

Because this Jugger came with a widening kit, the previous owner modified the rims. Center drilled out to get to the nut and 5 holes added for screws that go into the widening wheel hub.

Not a nice view, so I 3D printed a set of center axle hub look alikes. Looks better than a gaping hole...

2 days of RC in a vintage event in France : Montluçonnaise 2023
f7ODn3l.jpg
bN5DWwO.jpg

Lot of fun, some face on some pseudo, and a lot of runs on both a nice onroad track with nice curves and a very nice offroad track in a very vintage spirit, and not too hard for our old cars...

Went there with 16 cars. All  of the16 cars had some run time, some more than others.... The printed tires worked very well in off road condition, my Marui Samurai and my Marui Ninja both got some nice run time and even some air time (I hope I can extract some nice moments from the footage I took during the runs).

Almost broke nothing :
- a lost screw on the Lunchbox,
- a pulley not tighten enough on the bearcat ss, and unfortunately, that's the one inside the gearbox (2 laps only before this happened)
- a probable broken idle gear on the Big Bear (but I did not opened the gearbox, I'll see this within the week)
- a motor pinion escaping on the Super Wheelie : run time 3 meters. Solved this morning, and it had quite a good run time after this

I went back late afternoon, cleaned everything quickly (weather was good, so mainly dust, and the air compressor did the work), sorted my cars in 3 categories shelf, ok state, requires work
And it's long time I've not been that tired... Already looking forward for next vintage event :-)

Took my Scania into the Sunshine to get a pic of the extra weathering I did on the container trailer yesterday with the Tamiya weathering master kits. Felt weird to ding it up on purpose and make her like she's sailed some rough seas but am happy with result...have a good weekend all.

Holy cow that's impressive detail. I'm still not quite sure I believe you haven't just gone out and taken a picture of a real truck.

What was the car? Is there a build thread?

It is an M03, flipped to RWD with an extra servo for 4WS and WT-01 arms.

No build thread as I have dipped into it over quite a while and it was just a 'I wonder if I can...' project.

Could portal axles work or are Wt01 arms different from TL01/GF01 etc.

I like your thinking, I reckon they would fit but I don't know if using them would bring temps down. If my thinking is right, they would likely reduce the wheelspeed, something I would rather increase!

A WR-02 or GF-01 (or comical variants thereof) would probably be a better starting point than an M03! I don't know, however, how easy it would be to make the 4WS.

All is not lost, I'll be able to reconstitute two cars from this - an M03 and a WT-01. I might keep the M03 4WS of I can improve the steering on the second servo (I need a servo saver more like the standard one and to re-make the steering links to match).

As our Lunchbox is 99% finished and the vintage Sand Scorcher is nearly ready to sell I bought a shelf queen M07 today.

I figured LB for the garden and M07 for a bit a car park thrashing.

I’m really liking the idea of road cars, so it’ll be interesting to see if the reality of owning one translates into use.

Been working on a Scorcher body/M06 chassis build and making use of 3D printed parts. Came up with a front mount that directly replaces the stock M06 shock tower and lets you use a cut down body post to have a height adjustable mount for the scorcher body. Working on a rear piece now that will let me use the stock roof mounting clip on the body. Also made some rear lights so I could use the clear lenses and some 5mm LEDs. Added those lenses to my Blitzer build and hated that you have to cut the stock lights to mount the lenses and then glue them in place, no idea why Tamiya do it like that when they could just model them like the way I designed mine and offer the two lens options. Final touch is some silly F1 style wings and custom wheels. Just need to paint everything now.

Had a quick blast with our Lunchbox in the garden this evening, then fitted the radio box to the Scorcher and gathered up all the vintage SRB spares I have ready to put it up for sale.
The front is very low as there is no oil in the shocks -

Finished my Kyosho Dirtmaster. Painted it PS cobalt green that ive had left over for a couple of years from painting the Tamico Porsche 934 which actually matches the green sticker on the motor quite nicely. Made a complete and utter hash of the two main kit stickers (the nose and wing) and ended up throwing them so went for something completely different using left over stickers from the Turbo Scorpion and re-re Ultima plus some black vinyl pin stripe.

so yeah, i went and visited a friend i made on a discord server yesterday in person for the first time. been talking online to that person for a few weeks and wanted to meet them in person. there was a big park in from of the location. packed the manta ray and slash, 2 controllers and 4 batteries. didnt really run anything in the park but did have some fun in too long grass with manta in their backyard/veranda area. not able to drive slash as i didnt fish out the traxxas controller for it, took the tt02d or lunch box one. the batteries seemed to charge up fine after sleeping for so long. the long grass really slowed down the manta which was perfect as the slash was just a show piece with no controller. the manta was driving slow enough a beginner could have a bit of fun with it and not break anything. it did eat the 5000mah battery a bit fast...

That’s nice 👍🏻 colour sits very well with the kit stripes.

Chatting to a fellow member over on another thread led to my whole fleet in one spot for a family photo the first time….

A great way to take stock & represents almost 6 years of accumulation. Turned out to be a great opportunity to dust the shelves as well 😄

I am still exploring this as an idea, slash 1/16 body on a CW01

It's a bit bonkers, but a part of me likes it and it would be good to have a lexan option for the CW01.

Hummmm something doesn’t look right there bud?

Mines a rere but also without oil in the shocks but sits right. The spring should be holding it up, all the shocks do is dampen the bumps.

IMG_5277.jpg

I would say either the spring isn’t hooked up right or my money is on the long dampers are on the back and the short ones are on the front instead of the other way round?

Good luck with the sale, and I hope you enjoy the M07 as much as I enjoy an M08 😀

Nice one! Didn't realize how big a Blackfoot and Monster Beetle are compared to a Stadium Blitzer .
