No pics yet - still got the electrics to finalise and the decals to finish off.

Team car RC10 is from 1994, it's a one (no doubt childhood) owner. No real idea on condition but its a stealth transmission, black chassis car with original body and box. Far from mint but I have new body and wing on route from Tower. Thought I might as well see what the fuss is about before I have to pay for my re-re preorders ;)

We seem to be working on the same models. I ran both of these without bodies yesterday to work out some of the kinks, Finally settled on the 2 pole 3500 kv Reaktors and 3 cell lipos. They seems to really like the 1.9 inch beadlock all terrain rears and the fronts do fine when in contact with the ground. With that kind of power the fronts don't get a lot of use and they may need a bit of weight up front but not much. The non stock body is a J concepts illuzion and it fits perfect, even the wing is dimpled to be drilled at the correct width. These both have the 6 gears in them and they did just fine with pinions about as small as would fit. Top speed seems to be in the mid 30s and about all it needs.

I've searched the internet, RCmart, Tamiya USA and Tower for those white striped F201 tires and came up empty, they look cool. Still no clue on what they really are.

I'm going to look on this as a perk for the later years in life. I picked up the 2 in the last post to see how the RC10 is as a buggy. I've used the chassis for hot rods but never a buggy. I was looking for a Futaba receiver and checked a closet I hardly ever go into and found another one almost complete. Wheels and tires were off of it and the body looks ok till you notice the back isn't there. I put it back together and looked at everything else to just see what all was related. I seem to have more of these than I realized. The little joy I mentioned is going into an unused closet or parts box and it being like Christmas with a sort of vague memory of where something came from. It only happens with the RC stuff too, probably because I don't take it that serious. These are all of them and no I didn't find the receiver and now I'm afraid to look anymore.

Last night finished off the decals on the OMC, then cursed a lot trying to programme a Tekin RS with a hotwire interface that doesn't want to play ball <grrrr>

I did some investigating into the RC10 chassis that I have here. The 2 gold pans are correct and very vintage. The red one is unknown and made of a fiber composite and no way it's original. One of the black ones is marked Racing Master and a good knock off. My best guess is the other black carbon one is a sassy chassy, worth having but again not original. I wasn't aware of how many aftermarket parts there were out there.

I've been working on the F201 and I understand now why the price was so low. Somebody got it with the intention of racing it and purchased all the hop ups for it. I did the carbon chassis but if it wasn't for having another that was already done I'd have thought about giving up too. I have the 1 page instructions but that was very little help. It's a great car but more than a bit intense. Next is dialing in all the suspension geometry then I'll have a pair of what I consider the best formula 1 I've ever come across.

Still no clue on the tires with the white stripe

Placed my first order with Tower Hobbies !

And 7 days later discovered I have been caught for customs charges - this is exactly why i try not to buy from US sellers, every item i bring in from the US seems to get hit. I've had one charge in 50+ orders from HK sellers.

Oh well, I sort of expected it, but at least i know my bodies will be with me next week and can go straight off to the painters

To cheer me up I sorted out my Optima Mid parts, discovered i have 95% of another car, and so started building up diffs :D

After a few months of looking at it and being stuck I have finally figured out a way to fit a standard size stick pack into my Cox Dune Buggy / SRB mash up . Sometimes the obvious solution just don't come easy . Battery too wide - simple . Make the sides of the body slightly wider . All I have to do now is make a suitable retainer . WELL HAPPY now

Come on you get hit once out of 50 + that's not bad . Most would have been hit all of the time & once not get hit .

It's like speeding , it's a numbers game . do it enough times & you will gst hit .

By your post count it would be more like 500 orders , I'm sure you had missed a 0 in there . ..

I half expected the charges, just annoying that evertime i buy from the US I have to pay.

A lot of my items from HK are generally small value so they stay under the customs limit. Jason marks slightly low values, so again with parts orders I'm generally OK, but again not been hit with any £40-50 packages from Jason.

I've only bought 5 RC items from the US - two were $15 so under the limit, one was sent by Daves956 with low value, and the other two I've been caught.

I've propbably bought 7 or 8 body sets from that place in Canada in the last 2.5 years and no issues with customs, ditto the Optima Mid bodyset that came from Dubai.

I think HRMC just sift through cargo from the US and nowhere else.

£18.71 to pay, will be able to pay and collect from depot on Monday

Not too bad I suppose, but still makes the $63 of goods and $19 shipping equivalent to £68 after duties.

I'm in the middle of switching over a few radios and the biggest reason is the piece of paper in this picture, It's the flow charts to program a Traxxas TQ. How many blinks of what color and what buttons to push and so on. It's a pain, and God help you if you loose the chart.

They don't make it easy do they ?. I ditched them a long time ago , way to hard & as i get older

it's getting hard to remember how if you have not done it for some time .

Same as some of the esc as well on items , 25 blinks with 3 1/2 blinks with too greens blinks etc .

I always have to get the manual out , Sadly :( .

I finally have all the manuals and loose decals in 3 ring binders so I can find them to read :D Even with all the cars I only have a couple types of ESCs to make it simple for the old guy. My plan with the radios is one marked with a T one with K and one unmarked for everything else. The fourth is for my daughters cars so she can decorate it as she sees fit. All part of trying to make it simple

Sorted out a load of old spares boxes - God I'm a hoarder :( so a load of items going on ebay today !

Sorted out the parts for my Optima Mid SWB build and polished up some of the ally parts for a bit of bling

Opened up the B4 parcel that arrived yesterday, gave the wheels, shell and wing a clean. Also removed the shocks and those are being rebuilt in the morning. Asuming it does actually run when i power it up I'm mightily impressed with what I got for my money :D :D :D

Rebuilt the rear Ansmann dampers on my Blackfoot - quite a pleasing little job to do, I replaced the standard O-rings with Tamiya red O-rings. The O-rings which came with the dampers seemed a bit squidgy and allowed them to leak. Only about a quarter of the original damper oil was left, from them leaking!

Filled them with some 45w silicone damper oil and after a the first run, the damping is near perfect now. Harder to roll the car now that the dampers are working correctly and not just functioning on the springs!

Oh and it's only the first run, but they don't seem to be leaking anymore, fingers crossed it stays that way!

Beat my head against my half track build on and off, trying to make chassis rails for it and fit them to the tank hull. Ran the 6x6 round the garden for my son to watch. Ran the Jugg2 with 3S LiPo in it. Very powerful even on 540 silver cans :)

Don't forget to post a link :)

I'm too embarrased to !

I've been keeping some boxes of stuff from when i started collecting used parts lots almost 3 years ago - i've barely thrown anything out of some boxes over that time, even though some of it is not worth keeping ! Some bits n bobs have helped members out here, so there was some good from it, but seriously unless you are REALLY desperate for a part don't get your hopes up !

I had a good day, sold 2 more cars and now down to 41, also sold off all the traxxas radio gear. Dialed in the suspension on the new F201 and got both the motorcycles up and running. I also got all my daughters cars switched to flysky. The bikes are the worst to swap receivers so got them onto the K flysky while they were apart.

Percymon is firmly in first place for number of cars lately too.

Rebuilding a re-release Lunchbox I picked up as a bargain a few years ago. The previous owner really used and abused it. Just a few parts and various screws and it will be running again. Should finish the chassis later today. Will keep using it as a runner...I will work on the abused shell next. Might go for the weathered and rust look.

In about a month I've brought in 5 and moved 14 out, that doesn't include all the parts and radio gear, .Moving that many in that amount of time is probably a personal best,,,maybe :o I've still got a couple that need to move before I'm satisfied with the numbers. It was at a point that counting them was getting difficult, not to mention storage.

Modified and reprogrammed a second Turnigy 9X radio, so now I have a backup in case the first one ever dies. One of these is going to play a role in my Bump Steer project for controlling headlights and smoke.
