For me, posted my latest photos of the Scorpion with scratch built garage accessories on instagram if anyone is interested.   #pretendRCshop

If I have time this afternoon, I think I will take snaps of my Tamiya Beetle M06 and post tomorrow.  B)

Followed you. Looks lovely.

(although I confess I'm not much of an Instagram user, I haven't really got the hang of it. Am I too old? 😁

Cracking car to drive now. Really quick, nimble and quiet compared to our other cars. Picture take after shakedown (excuse the dust).

Just received my brand new Tamiya Mercedes C11 B)

Oh nice! I've been wanting to get one but missed them on the first run some months back. Where did you get it? My local stores don't expect to have any for at least another month.

Finished my M06 Scorcher body build. Lots of resin printed parts. Painted in a 2 tone gloss black with Tamiya Pearl Blue over it. Rear tyres are from the Tamiya F104.
Need to redo the front bumper though, it's too low and sits on the deck.

For me, new shelving unit in the new pylon test course space..  I think I am going to get one more down the road, but for now will decide how and where to mount the Tamiya boxes on the wall for decor.  :D   Will also figure out how to hide that silly dongle under the shelf.

Also wired new lights today under the floating shelf and new placement in my pretendRCshop B)

Will add some more decor under the floating shelf down the road.

Trimmed and poked the bodyshell for one of my current projects.

I wish there was a saloon version of that body, it was my Grandfather's last car and I'd love to make a scale version. I really ought to see if I can find a static kit.

Thanks, it was actually that particular take that inspired me, and the fact that I had a TT-02 that I really wanted to throw a nicer shell on.

Tamiya wouldn't have to alter much to make that shell work on a touring car, just change the wheel wells, dimples, and add masking for the windows (something that I may end up improvising with my shell). I'm sure that it would fit onto a CC chassis too.

Todays Peter Solberg quote (added Norwegian words when the English word was not on his tongue during interviews):

“Its not the Fart that kill’s you but the Smell”

Fart=Speed - Smell=Crash

For me, I got a new Apple Magic Keyboard for my iPad as you all may have noticed A LOT of type-o's recently due to a cheap BT keyboard I was borrowing from my wife which she originally bought for our kids to use on their school iPads.   The Magic Keyboard is 1000x better.  B)   Being a mac user since the early 80's, I should've bought this thing years ago when I started using iPads.

Today I will be working on making a pass through hole in a large wardrobe (cabinet) my son is no longer using to make it into a makeshift hideaway workshop /battery charging station and run power for whatever I might need inside..  It's got plenty of space inside for quick RC setup in the pylon test course room and can close the cabinet doors to fully hide everything away while not in use.   Should be very convenient once done.

I came a step closer to finishing up my TB EVOiii - i think..... ;)

I wasn't too keen on how I had mounted the top of the dampers, with a bolt through from the back of the plate, through an alloy spacer and into a ball nut. Functionally it was fine, but aesthetically I didn't like it. So I ordered some longer titanium countersunk bolts, thinking I could replicate how the 6mm ball nuts are fitted on the camber arms:

Which would be fine, if the mounting caps on the dampers were plastic, or at least had an internal shoulder like the hi-caps do. But they don't - they are alloy and have a straight through bore, so there is nothing holding them central on the ball of the nut, if that makes sense?

After several attempts I ended up with this configuration: screwhead, o-ring, damper, ballnut, spacer, mount, nut.

It works, and I think it looks better, but I'm not convinced by it. Has anyone had a similar issue and resolved it any better than this?

Oh, and because I'm extremely pedantic, I couldn't cope with having non-titanium and non-button head bolts for the lower stabiliser mount, so I got some! :)

Don't they just make a huge difference!! ;)

edit: I've just noticed there are some plier marks on the outer ball end. I know what I'll be doing this evening.......

edit again - and there are some on the one on the other side!!! What have I been playing at???!!!!

Finished the paint and threw on some stickers, I had to mask the windows myself using tape, and trim out the stickers to work like other kits.

My main concern is how bendy the shell is (not that I'm going to do anything dumb with it), might shoe goo some of it just in case.

What is the one on the right on? I kinda wish I had grabbed some black paint just for the bumpers.

When I trimmed mine I left some extra lexan up front to make a spoiler, then took the back window sticker, flipped it, looks a bit like a lower grille now. Just need to sort out some tire rub now.
