What is the one on the right on? I kinda wish I had grabbed some black paint just for the bumpers.

When I trimmed mine I left some extra lexan up front to make a spoiler, then took the back window sticker, flipped it, looks a bit like a lower grille now. Just need to sort out some tire rub now.

The one on the right is on a TT02-T chassis with CC01 size tyres and a homemade front basher plate. It’s the lexan one done in Subaru rally colours. Bit like a support vehicle. The one on the left is the hard body and currently rests on a MF01-X though it needs some tweaking to fit better. The ORV is now dressed in Blackfoot!!!

Has been a thought since i bought M-08R kit, but I finally bought Escort MK.ll body inkl Corsa White & Black Tamiya spray, picking it up on a local RC store Fri or sat (one off very few left in Oslo)

I will start the build during the first part of my vacation in start of July.  Decided to start with what i already have TT motor and a standard Tamiya ESC that came with one off the other kits.

For me, finished installing the charger inside the cabinet, also installed 3 floating shelves in the pylon test course space.   I think it looks good, still kind of all over the place as far as organization..  and no, I do not worry about crashing into the boxes while driving my cars..lol     My wife said my pylon test course now looks like another RC shop with all the boxes..  she appeared a bit disappointed.

The good news is that since I got a lot of boxes and models out of my pretendRCshop, the now spacious (?) room looks quite a bit more organized and less storage space like...

I had a few minutes so took new photos of my Turbo Optima and posted on IG. #pretendRCshop      Please check them out if interested.  I will be doing a Mini Cooper photo shoot probably tomorrow.

So after finally getting the dreaded 'rona, I cracked on with a couple of projects.

First up, replace the standard chassis in the SW01 with the clear version with yellow gears.

Next up was one I bought specifically for this possibility: the GF01. I got to the painting stage, but missed out on suitable weather so it will just have to stay at this stage until some nicer weather coincides with a day off.

Then I pulled the Baja apart after procrastinating for nearly a year... it just needed a new spur gear! That's been ordered so now I just have to get the blasted thing running again.

Next stop was the box of original Wild Willy bits I was given a year ago and realised that it just was too much for me to attempt, so that's being forwarded to someone who will do it justice.

With that decision made I've decided to move on the BNIB Wild Willy 2 kit I bought last year.

That about sums up my isolation RC activities.

I picked it up in 2018/19 when I got back into the hobby. It runs really well with TT motor. Still got the original SandShaker body in the loft. I think Tamiya missed a trick with this.

Oh nice! I've been wanting to get one but missed them on the first run some months back. Where did you get it? My local stores don't expect to have any for at least another month.

I can understand! I've been wanting to get one for ages as well. Hope you'll do some more Le Mans cars in the future. Got mine from here: https://www.blasted-rc.com/products/tamiya-47484-mercedes-sauber-c11-1-10-electric-rc-car-kit

Fitted the Juggers new shocks to the front (rear needs an adjustment in the shock mount).

Very happy with these, they have a much nicer and cleaner look and better color match compared to the old ones.

Left old, Right new.

Replaced parts to extend width of gf-01… and realized i need longer links for steering.. time to order some more parts!

though it really extends the width…

Now that is a super wide GF01 @Sogogi!  I am sure it will help prevent roll overs.  B)

For me, spent some time mounting dots and pylons on my pylon test course.. it is a pretty painstaking process as I am double stick taping each object and requires degreasing the EVA before application.   Took my Kyosho Beetle for a test run.  I think it's pretty good for its small foot print.   I think I'm going to get a few more props for it to make it look a tad more interesting to look at.. ie: mini cones.. maybe make some flags..

It is tad bit wider for my liking (the way it looks), but will find out how it performs in few weeks…

Would running wider tires (like ones off WW2) make it look more your style?    I should try my GF01 on the pylon test course..  :D

For me, my wife printed up a smaller version of a Beetle Only parking sign Amazon sold so made a styrene backing for it, mounted real screws on the 4 holes.   Going to paint the edge of the styrene the rustic color and mount it on my new display.

In parallel, my son is designing a logo for me which I will have it professionally printed and cut on foam board.  Will replace the Tamiya banner on the wall down the road as I am not sponsored by Tamiya by any means, why should I advertise their logo..   Small emblems for Willy and Billy is fine as it is part of the decore for the models, also boxes, but dedicated signs posted inside the pretendRCshop, no more.

Update.. Here is the sign my wife printed for me on card stock.. (mounted on styrene and painted).   I think it turned out pretty good.  Original size was like 12 x 8 which is too for the space..  this 8 x 6" is perfect.  B)     I think I'm going to ask my wife to make me a few more of these vintage signs.. even make the real colorful one gray scale to hide in the background.

The weather's a bit average today, and Mrs Twinfan is busy with work, so I'll be cracking on with some more of the replica I'm building of my first car - an '88 Thunder Dragon.  As you can see I still have it, so I'm using it for reference and will even be using the original manual to build the new one.  Nostalgia eh?

Other than full bearings and a steel pinion (standard 15T) it'll be as per the old one.  The base car is a Saint Dragon I got really, really cheaply so I could get the 4 shock setup as I bent the front monoshock on my original car, probably driving it off a kerb or accidentally into one    I bought the twin shock Hop-Up to fix it.  I won't be using the SD's G-parts tree for the different shock towers, it'll be built as per standard TD and my old car.

I even bought the Thunder Dragon body set so I could paint the shell as I did back in the day rather than buy a pre-painted shell from the TD re-re.  The shell has come out really well and I was going to smoke the windows but didn't want to ruin the silver paint job!  So I've left it clear and spent a lot of time on the driver (unlike teenage me did back in the day...!).

On to the chassis then I guess...

Good to see someone else building a dragon (I'm currently building a Fire Dragon)

I also have a Saint Dragon, I just spent hours and hours scouring aliexpress for some road tires, blue wheels and hex hubs for it.

I'd love to create a non-boxart Thunder Dragon one day too.  It would get either a zebra stripe paintjob or an iridescent color.

Photographed my new F104 Pro II and my newly-rebodied F104 V2 Pro with the car that inspired their liveries:

(More in the photo thread.)

Notice the subtle difference in the rear wing stickers to indicate which is the Pro II and which is the II Pro?

(I was quite pleased with them. 😁)

Happy fathers day all the dads out there!

In celebration I have fitted my last surviving 3d printed wing mount (it usually runs wingless, these mounts aren't lasting the tumbles - need another redesign), hoping for a DT-03 beach run later.

But not as much as I'm hoping for quick wickets at Edgbaston, if I'm honest

Took out an old friend to photograph / document.

Project completed during Covid 2020 but went undocumented. One of my favorite liverys, being a Honda and spoonsports fan. I tried my best with using tapes for split lines and painting exterior trim on the outside of the bodyshell by cutting away the protective film. Although less durable I’ve had more success doing this way then from the inside. Looks good still today in my opinion.

I gave the blue colour a blend into a darker shade as it reached the orange/yellow. I brush painted the lamps both front and rear with transparent colours. Decals are from TeamC. Wheels I believe are pre glued ride, long ago eBay random buy. Body is by a Honda Civic 3G by Pandora.

RC-related activity today. Took my Dad and son to Flywheel at Bicester Heritage and now want some more Tamiya bodies.

The last one is one I think Tamiya should make
