I put oil 7,000w in the diff mate! But weather or not when I start running it it will leak I honestly don’t know but it did go together really tight so I’m pretty optimistic it will hold

but if I can give you some advice get some ball races for the steering (850) because that steering is an absolute pain to put together the spring is pretty tough so get them bearing in as you build it and also be careful with the very thin shims when you take them off the sprue because they are easily snapped:D

Thanks. I'd got some 7000w to try too. I've bought the extra bearings needed for the steering. Thanks for the shim tips. I was hoping to replace as many of the plastic shims with aluminium if I have them. We'll see...

For me, mounted my newly printed signage in my pretendRCshop to go full dork.

Under the shop name, it's kinda blurry but says "by Calvin & Willys".   I'm Calvin if anyone hadn't noticed..

I used stand-offs to make it look more professionally installed..  for $9?

Posted my latest pictures of the burgundy Beetle with alloys on IG.  #pretendRCshop.   Please check them out if interested.  B)

So today, besides installing the sign on my pretendRCshop wall, I have been driving my Mini-Z EVO.  I love how the RWD version drives.  I am thinking about getting the limited edition green chassis (I currently have the red chassis with super hot motor) and run the Hakosuka GT-R body down the road.  :D     As for the EVO AWD, its cool, but the steering system needs help  Even with the slop mostly removed from their flimsy servo saver, the car still does not want to drive as precisely as the RWD variant.   The RWD drives properly like a miniature pancar.   B)

CC-02 FJ40. I think the kit is priced well considering it has high torque servo saver, led kit, body accessories, etc (which i think is the lowest priced cc-02 on the market)

After installing new shock oil in the Hornet it really doesn't handle too badly...of course, having old half bald tires in the back helps prevent traction rolls!

Sadly...it steers better than either of my TT-02s, despite them having better servos. I dunno how to feel about that.

Enjoy it! And give the build manual a bit of patience because you will be flipping from page to page and when you instinctively think “I need to build two of these” you will probably be right:D

Slow day today as I've got a very bad cold virus that draining all energy. But at least the 3D printer is busy printing new mounts for its new heated bed so I can make more custom car parts in the future.

Isnt that exactly how Herbie won a race?

I switched out the FL Tuned 30 turn motor for a standard silver can 540 in the M08. I also messed around with the settings on my TX. I was playing around with the antilock breaks and throttle expo. On the very quick little test run, it seems the 540 is faster but smoother compared to the FL motor. That one always seemed a little punchy and didn't seem to play well with the speed controller. The silver can is so smooth and seems to fit the personality of the car a little better. My M08 still likes to swap ends more than I like but it's starting to simmer down a touch.

Both my wife and I really like the Patina on that one too 😎

I think a rat rod look is rather cool. Maybe just lacquer over it and keep it without sticker. Have a look on Tuesday.

Technically yea!

Oncd upon a time I wanted to recreate that with a modified M03. Turns out Hornets are good at that too.

For me, besides driving my Mini-Z's today, my wife is helping me mold a Kyosho Beetle driver (torso).. will see how that went tomorrow after the silicon material cures.. wish me hope.      If all goes well, I am going to get me a Scorpion and convert it into a Beetle as I have the body posts and dedicated aluminum U-bar for it.   I can't find any more Beetle inventory in the USA at a reasonable price, so just convert one and use the Scorpion body as spare for my actual Scorpion.  :D

I decided I am going to retire one of the two AWD EVO Mini-Z and use the receiver on a new EVO RWD Mini-Z perhaps with a C8 body.   I think Kyosho did some sort of mid-life revision on the AWD EVO as one of the two drives fine, but the other is just total crap (steering system appears defective and the servo motor sounds different too).  Anyway, I can still use it as spares for the good one, so it's fine.

I still have not started the blue WildOne..  I like the look of the car, just lost interest building it.

Vintage event in Macon, France, next week, with onroad focus... Time to vintage my M05 and to get it ready for next week-end.

I did a quite classical theme for a mini...

It's far from perfect, but this is good enough to ru(i)n it on a track :-)

After 20 years I finally took the SRB Rover out for its first run in the garden! Yes its been a LONG project. Loads of upgrades done & now runs on lipos. Front arms keep coming loose, front shocks too long but had a great time!

3d printer has been running for almost a week and been upgraded direct drive & hardened steel nozzle to use Carbon Fibre Filament.

The red SRB Rover project has been abandoned in favour of a new project, will add to showroom shortly.
