Test fit the new body on the new M07 (yes i know fwd vs rwd) with magnet mounts.  Still a touch too tall.

Also, the tires look small.  Maybe if I paint the rims gunmetal…

Gunmetal rims is a superb idea. That color will pop in the same way as the gorgeous, green metallic, and accompany it. 

 

Looking forward to see this lovely machine in  the Postal Racing.

 Photographed a milestone. Magnets mounted, Wheels in place, ride height in, half the decals are mounted, door mirrors, center wiper ( functioning! ) . I’m pretty proud so far.

The journey continues. Also just noticed a spelling mistake, decal redo 😅

This morning I finished the stickering on these two

So, why on earth have I got two of these? Well, one is a genuine 50430 body set which came pre-drilled for the TA03 etc. Overall I did a better job of the stickering on this one, learning from the tiny mistakes I made on the other one. This one's all good, buy I'm not sure if I'm going to use it. Because of the other one....

The other one is a tale of many mistakes, one on top of the other, with multiple points where I could have pulled up stumps rather than bludgeoning on and compounding the error(s). But bludgeon on I did...

The other is the re-released 51365 body set which came undrilled. I initially thought I would get it to fit a TB Evo III bits-a-build, and drilled it to fit. Unfortunately at that point the chassis had the Surikarn rear shock tower fitted, which is wider than standard. Double unfortunately, I then discovered that the 'proper' two part wheels didn't fit, they fouled on the suspension and were fractionally too wide to fit inside the arches.

At that point I decided to not use the shell on this chassis, and also removed the Surikarn damper mounts and used the standard parts instead. It now wears an Audi A4 shell with med-narrow rims that fit perfectly, and because of where the body posts are drilled it's transferrable to another chassis if needs be. Happy days 

This is where I should have stopped with the R32, bitten the bullet and just thrown the shell in the bin. But I thought that maybe those wide rear body post holes would suit the TRF415MSX that I'm restoring? Worth a shot, no?

So, in my next mistake, I decided to crack on, paint it and use the stupidly rare original sticker sheets I found on Buyee to finish it

Only once I had finished it did I discover that although the rear body holes are wide enough for the TRF415, the TRF415's rear damper mount is much further back than the Evo III (or most other touring cars, by the look of it)

Spacers, such as the B1 Parts from the Evo 5 etc do sort out the rear body post positions. But the front wheels on the TRF415 are too far back, and the spacers either side of the front suspension mounts are already as rear-biased as possible...there's not enough at the front to shift to the back to push the wheels forward enough. So it doesn't fit. 

So, as far as I can tell, I now have a beautiful Calsonic R32 body that will only fit a TB02, TB02-R or Evo III. And only if those chassis are fitted with the Surikarn rear shock tower. And in all instances, the proper two-piece wheels don't fit.

Niche, huh?

The 53471 Med-Nar wheels are probably the closest to the Nismo R32 design, and Cross RC did make some 24 and 22mm wheels years ago that look really good. But, in another error, when a set of those came up on Buyee I forgot to set a reminder and missed the auction. 

Like I said, mistake upon mistake upon mistake. Still, live and learn hey?

For me, started Kyosho Beetle #7, starting with the body cutting and sanding.  

Going to trim the window masks a little bit (the precuts are like 0.7mm too big) and apply next.  

Peeled back the mask and liner.  Pretty clean for an amature pretend-painter with hope, right?

I have 5,5 mm front (the old rear ones from the Lancia) and 9 mm rear. Fits like a glove, but I run it one hole higher on the bodyposts.

Lots of wrenching on my 1:1 rides. Last night I got new front rotors and brake pads installed on my van. Today after work I got my “project “  1981 Honda C70 Passport ( a U.S. variant of the popular Honda Cub ) . I purchased it last weekend with a seized motor and a boogered metrical system . 
it still needs a bit of work but it fires and runs u see it’s own power now . 
I also got oil changed in my wife’s ‘17 turbo Civic .

All in time to bbq up some burgers for my mom and niece and settling in to watch some wrestling .

This is mostly about stance. I tried 7 mm first, but that didn’t cut it, so I decided to go all in. On postal racing tracks it does not matter. But when I tried it free running I found it too oversteery. That can have to do with my steering inputs though.

Finished the new heated printbed on the 3D printer, and printed the bracket that I'm missing to fit the Jugger's grille.

As the drivers cabin is visible due to not having the black windows but an open rollcage, the visible portion of the inside of the Jugger got some decals as well.

Yeah, I just got familiar with Instagram recently so this is yet another learning curve for me.. I am honestly kind of completely lost.  lol.  

 

 

 

Update: My wife noted she was able to get most of the items I wanted at Tamiya and Kyosho stores.  Items that were out of stock, I placed order to PJ just now using the mini discount.  👍

 

Going to start the decals on my Beetle in a bit..

Also Threads if you want to try that.. I have no idea what I am doing over there..  which is pretty much the same anywhere I go.  lol

Once I went dual color on this body single color looks too simple.. unless dark colors with flashy glossy silver/chrome wheels, I think.  I need to redo the red one as it looks too bland now..

Just ordered two sets as well. Look stronger than the originals ( the Re Re ones. They are like the Mk1 mirror
