Today, by (mostly) completing its drivetrain, I started a long-term budget restomod project.

I am a bit further ahead than my project thread suggests; couldn't help but share this image:

Those wheels fit perfect on that BBX @ChrisRx718

Can you show us more close up pics and of the chassis? Are there any standard hop-up parts included in the box kit?

Congrats!

I finally had the time to tinker and work on my new Celica ST185 body (purchased last April) and my cockpit (purchased last month).

Will still work on the helmets/heads and the Celica body probably this coming weekend.

Colour looks great. Must say not a fan of the wheels. It's lost some of It's 'scale-ness' to me and now looks more like a regular 2wd buggy. Good to see one built though👍

Thats your man cave?! Holy-Moly its huge! I'm very jealous. You could almost set out an indoor track in there :)

Very nice shelf organisation.

Thanks! It’s actually not that huge, it’s about the size of a 2 car garage. The room is also right by the garage so it really made sense to move the RC stuff down there. Now I don’t have to carry my RC gear through 2 flights of stairs :)

Have to disagree I think the wheels are the dogs dangling bits. Are they Turbo Optima?

Finished my homage to a rally car that saw when I was somewhat younger than I am today! It’s not massively accurate given the size disparity but I think it’s goes well with the original TXT 1 colour theme too,07A8D13C-D500-4D7E-9358-FE2B55DEB5DC.thumb.jpeg.7352c02a3144456d0b45bab3e0c1eabd.jpegEDD086FF-8436-4343-BE37-CD464592F6BE.thumb.jpeg.8cc604eef302e678dcadacc33e1aa8df.jpegABDFA2CA-4D9F-42C8-9A67-2B909C931A8F.thumb.jpeg.7b984d7bf85856121376327d56df9441.jpeg

Ive bought one of these cockpits but Im intimidated by it, as I thought Id need to spray paint it, and Id struggle with that. Am I right in saying youre using paint pens for this?

Did more custom decals for the Jugger, but ran out of ink so had to order cartridges. I'm about 70% complete. Custom cars really take some time to complete.

Actually that is a mainly model club. In fact, we are the only ones bringing RC in.

Still not a bad thing!

I've been getting a lot of requests on Instagram to see more of these tiny boxes I made..  These are just printed photographs of my actual RC kit boxes.

Once my wife settles down a bit from her trip (she just got back from Japan this morning) I think I am going to ask her to print up more 1:10 box photographs on her printer.

For certain I want to make one for Wild Willy (original), Willy's Wheeler,  Egress, Avante, and one of each from the Kyosho Legendary series (FantomEXT, Optima, Javelin, T.Optima, OptimaMID, Scorpion, Tomahawk, TScorpion, Ultima, Beetle.  It's kind of a task to take photos of each of the 5 faces and chop them together..

Nice classic car in the background. To put the size of your man-cave into context I have just measured mine :) 7ft x 7ft. If I want to do any modelling I have to move the computer keyboard out of the way to make room. Its a little space but all mine where I am allowed to hide from the world and play with plastic, paint and glue :)

I've been re-jigging the rumpus room for the kids, so not as much RC time as I'd have liked, but I did get the sailboat out on Sunday morning, and took a photo with my new (to me) camera!

Yes. Combination of paint pens (1mm & 5mm) and acrylic paint using brushes. The pens are used for outlines and narrow/thin shading. Then I used the acrylic paint for filling up wide areas. The white paint on the driver and co-driver's suit is combined too.

As for the helmet, I'll be using airbrush with urethane paint and  "00" paint brush for the details using acrylic paint.

After driving my Frog and loosing a dogbone/drive cup (again), I just took my Hornet out with its "proper" Hornet shell and gave it a spin.

I like idiot proof, solid axles.

For me, started the Fighting Buggy chassis.   B)

Factory silver can with high gear ratio (smaller pinion) setup.  No diff.

LOVE me some tiny boxes! I combined them with the coffee can kits and manuals:
