On a good start to the day I got a deal on two NIB 1/20 Tamiya F1 kits, a Lotus 107B and Tyrrell P34. I love the Tamiya 1/20 line of Formula 1 cars so the more the merrier:)

Meanwhile I'm still awaiting my FF-01, so I went ahead and ordered a new body. To replace the JACCS Honda Accord body, I bought a repro from L&L models of the exact same body (it just looks so good!). It cost me a fair bit, but from the reviews that I've seen and the fact it comes with decals, mirrors, wing, etc. it seemed to be worth the price.

I installed oil dampers on my new Mini-Z 4x4 Rubicon and LED's..  I test drove it on my Mini-Z crawler terrain and it drives well.   I also tried the APIO Jimny Mini-Z 4x4. To my surprise, the car is very capable on the same crawler terrain so I think I will go ahead and get oil dampers for it as well.  B)  I was afraid the car would be more of a trailing car, but it can take some serious angles no problem.

The Jimny is kind of out of scale though.. or perhaps the Rubicons are.. not sure which, but the Jimny is a bit too big vs the Rubicon.   Looks great by itself though.

I also got my tracking number for the MR03EVO with the Hakosuka GT-R body, so I'm looking forward to receiving that.. hopefully over the weekend.

I have been up and working since 4:30am today so I am a bit tired..  I did not get a chance to start the MB01.. I'll probably work on it over the weekend.

I worked on this a bit, hopefully the weather will allow me to run it in the postal races this weekend, and hopefully it'll stay in once piece.

If you look through the windshield, you'll see that I've made some changes.

Just marvelous to see the the Teapot out for Racing by Post @TurnipJF. It also made my wife’s day seeing that delightful character running around the cones 👍🏻

That looks tasty. Actually I have just now ordered an Escort MK2 body. I made a trip to Nesodden yesterday and picked up an M-08 Concept built but barely run at all. We are talking less than 30m running, so brand new and not one sign of use.

Had the pleasure of doing one of the most rewarding tasks in the rc hobby. Pulling off the top layer of plastic.

I like to shoot the trim and black off areas from the outside using the exterior protective layer as a mask. I like the variation of material finish a lot.

My FF-01 has arrived!

The car has a nice 17 turn HPI brushed motor paired to a 60A Kyosho speed house ESC that gets the car zipping around pretty quick. The infamous cracking shock tower appears to have plagued this chassis, so I'll be replacing them with non-broken ones. I'm debating the carbon chassis, but I think I'll order some aluminum bits in the mean time.

Today I got in a bit of practice driving my racing teapot in preparation for the bank holiday weekend's teapot races at the Lincoln Asylum Steampunk Festival.

Not very smooth at all! I hope I can improve during qualifying...

So far so good - I set the fastest time of the day, and our team also took today's medals for "best teapot" with a G6-01 based Mad Max inspired tanker, and "most entertaining drive" with a bonkers GF01 that did most of the course on two wheels. 😁

But there is still plenty more racing to go, with daily medals up for grabs tomorrow and Sunday, and the championship concluding on Monday.

I was too focused on driving and acting as pit crew for my team mates to get any photos today, but I'll try to get some tomorrow! 👍

For me, I applied some foil tape and painted the backside of the head lamp cups on my Mini-Z 4x4 to rid light bleed onto the hood and wheel well.  Turned out great.  :D   Now I think I will get some lamps for my Defender as well when the time comes.   Pictures in my Stories on instagram.

I also got another 8 AAA pack of eneloops today.   I may need to get more as I don't usually remove the AAA's from the crawlers as they have like a 1 hour run time and I typically only drive them 10-15 mins at a time.

I'm going to drive them and the new Trike rest of day, I think.

I guess it wasn't so much of a "Hardman Chassis" after all :(

Sorry to see your chassis snap like that, is the whole back end bad or is it just the diff cover that broke?

Ouch @Sogogi !    Yeah, do you have any other chassis you can place your body on?  Might be time for a TT02B or something to run your pickup body on.. (?)

For me, finished the day driving my MA03EVO.. very cool man.   :D   I just love the feel of the Futaba radio too.  I have a R34 body on it.. decided I also like a blue one so ordered a spare R34 body.   I was thinking I should get the R35 body, but it's shorter wheelbase (94mm) and I already have another spare body for my other M03EVO, so..

Don't tease us like that.   Rip the rest of that off and let us see!  This is like setting bubble wrap just out of hands reach!

Bit of a story, My wife is currently living part time in Queensland and part time at home due to her work, so I flew up to see her for the weekend. She has found a hobby shop not far from where she lives, so took me there this morning. This was a proper hobby shop covering lots of hobbies, was great fun strolling around browsing everything. The RC section was very impressive catering for the RTR market and the builders. The Tamiya kits in stock was great to see

The I spotted the Kyosho kits, and something that is very hard to find in Australia now was staring me right in the face, My wife saw me looking at it, then just said buy it, I can see you want it

So this will be flying home with me tomorrow…She’s a keeper my good lady
