re-release the FAV

Now that would be nice. As far as I'm concerned they may rework it into a civil version from the factory...

I went to try some speed runs today and found out that although the lot is clean and smooth, I could not get traction with anything I brought :(. So stopping became an issue and I put my grasshopper into a curb, broke a shock tower and front arm.

Then I took out the silvercan p34 for some runs, lots of donuts , anytime I would slightly let off or put on the throttle it'd just start spinning. Lots of 41 mph runs with the p34 but couldn't turn or slow to a stop without spinning, and had to stop trying because eventually I could smell a strong order coming from the car , seems a 25 year old silvercan doesn't much like prolonged exposure to 4s .

After all that fun out came the TC01, more traction issues but they we manageable, until my tire flew off

Would the F104 aluminum motor mount fit without any other change (except I suppose a spacer slipped over the shaft on the left side)?

Yes it would. The mounting holes all line up perfectly.

That's still fast for a tracked vehicle! Thanks for a good laugh 😃

I might make another one like this but in race car livery in the future..

For me, I finished the Abarth body and looking forward to posting photos on Instagram maybe tomorrow afternoon USA time.   Anyone know why the exhaust is white on this car?  Was the real car thermo wrapped in ceramic tape?  I was about to paint it silver color..   Anyway, I uploaded photos in my Stories on Instagram if interested.   #pretendRCshop

Tomorrow I plan to work on my Mini-Z after another morning drive in my 1:1 Golf-R.  B) I want to see which MR03 wheels fit the GR Supra MA20 (AWD) body on my MR03EVO setup..  mine will run RWD with staggered wheels/tires.  :D

It’s such a fun car to drive isn’t it. I have an old Wild one and FAV that both need fixing. Must get on to that soon…

It is, it drives very close to your typical 2wd buggy (lots of understeer, low CoG), but it still has a fairly scale suspension.

Take care with your FAV, the lights and bonnet are no longer in production afaik. Maybe make it the shelfer and the WO the runner?

Too late for that; both the FAV and Wild One were purchased as existing runners and were in well used condition! I have also purchased a Blockhead Wild One but haven't put that together yet. Too many projects, too little time!

Took the "Wild Attack One" off-road for a bit, it understeer quite a bit in the dirt, but otherwise it just sails over rocks and bumps without much fuss. I just wish that these were cheaper (or at least re-release the FAV) so that more people could give them a go.

@Kpowell911 that xmaxx looks superb  I’m just getting into the traxxas maxx and all the lipo batteries and it’s such a hoot :D

Can I just ask what body is that and does the standard body cadge fit on it?

mind you it doesn’t look anywhere near as clean as this now and as for the body:wacko:

Hi, the X Maxx has a Proline Brute Raptor body, fits with the standard cage/mount system.

My Maxx has a Traxxas HD shell, but mines the older Maxx, yours is a longer wheelbase

Yeah mine is apparently known as the widemaxx? What was an option for the max a wide kit is now standard and a bit longer for stability (not that it makes much difference with me at the controls) I almost went for the xmaxx but it was a bit to big for me getting into this side of RC!. tbh this maxx I have isn’t exactly small and it’s definitely not holding back with speed!

I did a speed run for the PoorBoysRC TT-02 challenge. Obviously I’m not going to win any prizes but I wanted to get involved to take me out of my comfort zone by putting something on YouTube, as I am not a confident person due to my autism.

Nothing wrong with too many runners!

That's the same patch of dirt where I've run Frog and TT02 "rally car". This does better than the Frog since it has a working front suspension.

That was a really good video. That last crash made me wince a little.

Was there llamas watching you in the fields?

Yea. Mines the original Maxx with the Wide Kit (and an unholy amount of upgrades, I dread to think how much this Maxx has Cost but hey). Yours is longer than mine so dont know what bodies you can run.

I understand what you mean about the X Maxx, however in my opinion, the Maxx and X Maxx are the two best RCs possible. I get called a Traxxas fan boy a lot, but Ive had nearly 300 RCs and honestly, those 2 are just incredible

Today I continued packing up my RCs.

I found the Go-Pro Swift bodyset I have planned for my MF-01X!.

It has gone up in the loft for when the new RC garage is installed.

I have “race prepped” the TT-02. In actuality this meant just swapping the GT Tuned motor for a Sports Tuned and changing the ESC for the one from my other TT-02. She’s now class compliant for my first go in a couple of weeks time.

The wheels and tyres will be swapped to. These are my outside set. I tried out the new Lipo and am pleased to report no explosions! To be honest with changing the motor I didn’t expect to notice any difference but I think she was a little quicker off the blocks.

A quick question if anyone has a chance. Do you have to return the battery to storage charge if you’re only leaving it for a couple of days? It’s what I’m doing now but just wondered.

So for me, this morning I went out for another relaxing weekend drive in my 1:1 Golf-R, then detailed her after the drive.  Tomorrow I plan to pull out my GR Supra for another relaxing early morning drive..  B)

So I completed the TA05 M-Four Abarth this morning making an reinforcement front bumper for it on the inside just in case it starts flapping around, and clear-bra'ed the inside of the engine compartment (bottom painted side of the polycarbonate) as it barely but surely rubs the rear dampers at the cap.  It is a very tight fit for sure.   I'm going to charge up my LiPo's this afternoon (yes, you read that right!) and drive my M-Four with the body before taking some photos to post later in the day.   I need to inspect the storage voltage on my LiPo's this week anyway, so thought I'd just kill 2 or 3 or 4 birds with one random stone as I am lazy.

In other news, I took advantage of Amazon's amazing deal last night on the M06L Beetle (It was like $20+ cheaper than buying from Tower with my SuperSaver discount and scheduled to arrive tomorrow!)  as I wanted to make another one in a darker color scheme using my old HPI CupRacer Porsche wheels.   It is going to look super nice... with hope    I still need to order bearings and super mini CVA's for it.. not sure, I might just build it as is since I'm only going to be driving on my pretend pylon test course with a silver can where it's basically super smooth and virtually dust free..  My CityTurbo WR02 still runs the factory friction shocks..  and it actually handles very well so I decided to just keep the pogo's.. ^_^

Its suggested to always set them to storage mode to not stress the battery and its also a risk to degrade it (as to low volt is) i suggest you set it to storage mode. I bought a Discharger for this purpose as charger discharge very slow (ISDT discharger)

Brilliant! Thanks a lot for the answer. That’s what I’ll do.

Also today, whilst waiting for the roast potatoes to cook, I took the TD4 for a quick bash round the churchyard. It threw a tyre last time so I glued them to the rims. I’m not sure I made the best job of it but everything stayed in place!

The TD4 is so quick with the RZ motor but I was surprised how quickly I noticed the NIHM drop off after using the Lipo earlier in the day. I might have to bite the bullet and relearn how to solder so I can use it in more cars

@Nick-W  NIce car!  :D    As for LiPo storage voltage, I always return it to 3.80-3.85v per cell after a run.   Coincidentally I am charging one of my 1:18? 1:16? LiPo's right now as I type as I will be test driving my M-Four in a bit.

I run a LiPo alarm on my car where it starts going off around like 3.75v or something.. once the battery relaxes it goes up to about 3.80v+  so perfect for storage.  I'm too lazy to storage discharge/charge so this is how I do it.  B)

Update.. test drove the MFour with the Abarth body.  Absolutely no rubbing issues and AWD rocks!  :D

From what I’ve been reading the vast majority of the parts are the same as the v1 maxx and anything specific to the wide maxx has a x after the product numbers (apparently)

like you I’ve had a decent amount of rc vehicles over my many years but this is something else and if I was called a traxxas fan boy they’d be bang on right:D it’s brilliant! mine is stock apart from the savox servo the original one bit the dust on the second battery it was rubbish so I wasn’t bothered also the upgrade rear wheelie wheels! As you can see my body has seen better days and that’s my second rear body guard!
