Hey hey hey now...the flashy chrome wheel on my Sanwa is classy and tasteful!

I wish they would all be white dish wheels. The only one that ever came close was the hitec lynx, now discontinued of course:

Ordered a Quicrun 1060 ESC for my M-08R with a low profile Savox server. Having some issues wich i think is the Tamiya ESC as i think they do not handle Lipo very well (?). The kits i have Quicrun 1080 installed (where i also have program box) run much smoother than the ones with Tamiya ESC.

Actually think i will just replace all the Tamiya ESC’s, the 1060 Quicrun has a very nice price in Norway also these days. Even bought my latest kit from s local shop as it have started to pop up decent prices on kits also in Norway

@simalarion : That's an excellent choice. You would not be happy with that Savox servo paired up with a Tamiya ESC.

U am actually putting one in my M-08 today. The final solution will be a 17,5t or 21,5t brushless, but for now a 1060 paired up with a TT will have to do.

@Andreas W Ford Escort - Super nice to see it on a "modern" Tamiya chassis with true RWD. Working Auxiliary lamps? :D

@Blissard Wow, Gorgious! What Chassis / wheelbase is it?

Thanks for the positive comment. Simalarion is building a MK2 M08R ATM with working lights. It's gonna be so sweet. Mine is not going to have working lights. I am not there yet, even though soldering is no big deal for me. As always I am gonna try my best to make a good looking body. I am only doing postal racing, so there is almost impossible to crash and therefore it is well worth the time spent trying to make the best possible result within my standards.

@Andreas W Nice. No need to solder unless you want some sort of specific setup.. 3mm or 5mm bulbs connected together straight to a regular Futaba reciever. Will you do box stock livery or something else?

Example -

Aha. ThenI better mask the area of the headlamps, if I 'll change my mind. Too late for that for my Porsche 911 RSR HPI body (sadly).

It's gonna be a roadcar in silver with Mexico livery. Inspired by the 1600 Sport a neighbor had when I was a little boy.

I do. I could open in paint on a computer but I am too technologically inept to know how to do that from my phone!

If you are using an iPhone you can open/view the image in the photos app and then screen grab the photo! That overcomes the -200 error.

I just finished preparing my stuff for the Vosgienne Vintage RC 2023
8dtVG2M.jpg

It's a bit far from here, I'm going to my brother's place tonight, and will get on site tomorrow morning. The cars are ready, I have some spares available, just in case, althought I foresee not much runs and more discussion about 3D printing around my cars....

You know TBLE02S use to be very smooth with great modulation until about maybe 4-5 yrs ago... and the current TBLE variant is no better.  The 1060 is night day improvement in modulation.  1252MG has higher current draw than standard servo's but some of my cars run 1252MG with the old TBLE02S no issue..  I have no issue with the 1060 so I think you made a sound choice.   B)

For me, got all my morning house chores completed so between WFH, I am doing to focus on building my XM1 today.  B)   I have to do some minor repair on the house this afternoon for maybe 30 min or so, but otherwise, continue on with the XM1 and finish off by drive my Mini-Z's.

Looking good there @Yoshimitsu!   Does that car come with some sort of muffler?   It looks great as you have it, but perhaps it might give it some pop if there is a muffler.. (?)

Even a super simple one can make it look pretty cool?

For me, got a bunch of things done around the house, ordered more materials to fix a few more things.

Besides that and WFH, I got most of the chassis done on the XM1.  I'm real happy how high quality the kit is.. it's not quite TRF level if you look at the plastics, but it's up there in the high-end side.  The aluminum bits are top knotch and CF is nice and thick as it should be.

I hope to finish the basic setup tomorrow and test fit my existing 1000 TCR body on it.   I pulled in the front arms using the horizontal roll center adjustment by 2mm total so I have my hopes that the body will fit at the proper low height..   If the body works I'm going to paint the other TCR body more a custom color scheme following similar theme.  I need to ask my wife to print up a few gum balls for the doors..    Pictures available in my Stories on instagram if interested.   #pretendRCshop

@Willy iine you're 100% right. It would look better with an exhaust pipe. (I'm in the UK🙂)

I've never tried one. How did you do yours on the Delta?

Still working on painting stuff, need to finish my clod body still but I got side tracked with other things. Went out and bought a couple of 3d printers so rather than using them for the reasons they were purchased (work related), I decided to make some grasshopper parts so I could temporally fix it :D. Seems better than ordering and waiting for more aftermarket ones, plus I wanted to change the design anyway.

If all goes well though I'll have finished pics of the clod and an F1 car posted tomorrow.

:D The Delta is using a styrene tube (sideways cup) painted silver with center painted black.  Mounting taped to the body.

If you want to try making an entire muffler it’s not that difficult to make out of styrene either.

I’m not really a scratch-builder so I’ll refrain  cutting the shell for the exterior lamp surfaces until the lamp buckets look good or at least passable. Identical replicas of the 1:1 I’ll be unable to do but a simplified boxed off version could be possible. A two meters away type solution. To me the most characteristic part of a mx5 is it’s headlamps.

I’ll make it out of lexan. Not completely convinced yet!

Rainy day again so Added some more Hop-Ups to my Top-Force today (from Rc-Mart), the metal stay for the upper lower carbon chassi will need to wait. A lot off them now and many you can not see here as motor mount, ball diff covers etc, but i need to take kids out now so here it is :):

@technics Is that a m-chassis Miata body?   If so I might want to try one as well to park next to my ND MX5 since it looks like I'm going to have another body-less MB01 chassis.  :D

I finished building the XM1 Competition chassis this morning, did some super basic setup, and test drove the car.   I am running XR10 Justock with ThunderPower 21.5BL, 1252MG and Futaba receiver running off my 7PX-R.  The car drives phenomenally well.. like VERY good at the same level as my 4WD TOP Racing Sabre Mini.  They weren't kidding, this car is frikken awesome..  :D    I am also running my small pack LiPo as the chassis is not designed for NiMH (the compartment is too small) which is fine as the L/R balance is more optimized.  There is hardly any left/right turn bias too coming out of a turn and just a touch of controllable oversteer bias just like a RWD car coming out of a turn.  This is all based on a super basic setup.   And yes, the turn radius is very good.

I oculd not directly test fit the 1000 TCR body as the body post locations are completely different, but placing the chassis into the up-side-down body, I could tell there is sufficient clearance on the front thanks to the roll center horizontal adjustment this car allows.  I am going to open up my other MB01 kit and start on the body today.  B)

I haven't done anything RC for a while myself but I did send my godson a DT-03 recently*. His Dad is a very old friend of mine who is definitely not predisposed to this sort of thing but has gamely persevered today to build it with him. Just had a video call with revving motor and spinning wheels (although servo saver centring ****-up means not yet a runner).

*over-the-top present I know, but I explained to him that while his uncle is incapable of remembering when his birthday is, and also oddly incapable of remembering when Christmas is, this has an upside in that every few years at some wildly unpredicatable and inconsistent time of year, something marvelous might turn up. In his 10 years on this earth I think this is his third present from me (hangs head). Additional plus side, I might now remember to send him a Christmas present of some kind of upgrade.

Glad I could help Mr @Ferruz 😁

My word, what a find that place is, I hope you warned them of a very full inbox of enquiries once the secrets out.

I know exactly where you’re coming from being overwhelmed, as there’s nothing remotely close to that here either. Even the big city shops aren’t as well stocked as that. That’s my kind of holiday now 👍🏻 My (now favourite) nephew is living on Vancouver Island so that would be a perfect excuse to visit Canada again 😄

Love the Mad Van what a great souvenir for the trip, great wife too. I’m sure you going to have fun with it.

Just a couple of things I did with mine was add a bit more grease to the Spur/pinion, which is easy done. And the back corner of the body split a bit after a mishap, so I’d recommend reinforcing them with a bit of self adhesive mesh and some Shoe Goo as it’s been fine since.

Any excuse to visit is good, my friend! I'm currently based on pretty much the opposite side of the country but you never know, I was in Vancouver just last year for work... so let me know if you get to come, and I'll do the same if I ever make it back to gorgeous Australia! 🤠

Thanks a lot for the heads up about the Mad Van. I've already added grease to the Spur/pinion, since I've noticed that they don't tell you to do so in the instructions. In fact, it was bone dry! :wacko:Upon further investigation, I saw that the diffs were properly greased, phew, at least that

The body is the real problem: it's way too gorgeous for bashing, and the wife has already put her foot down about it. I am to keep it absolutely pristine, and will have to get a basher one for intense running 😅 Easier said than done, but I'll come up with something.

But now off we go for its proper maiden run, with the original shell, so I'll have to be mindful... 🙄😁

I started the chassis build of my Terra Scorcher this afternoon. The body, wing and driver I did a few weeks ago in preparation.

Both gearboxes are now done, the GT-Tuned motor it's getting has just been run-in at 3v as per the instructions and the pinion will be fitted and motor installed later this evening to finish off Bag A. Time for food and drink first though :D
