So. Messed up but not tooo bad 😕

I immediately reamed the front body posts on the Tamiya Dimples.....

I dont think they were quite right..... so the shell sits too far forward in the arches. Ive also had to drill bigger holes for some movement. Not great but itll do. It was also on massive offset wheels when I lined it up.....

It sits better on stock TT-02 wheels so itll do for now. May actually run this

@Yoshimitsu looks great, are you using XF semi gloss paints? I will soon start my first ever interior.

Flat Tamiya paints. I give it a coat of satin lacquer at the end to take it all down a bit too. Look forward to seeing yours.😎

So far today I got my grasshopper back together, the front is a combination of the Team CRP FX10 suspension, AMPROs Grasshopper, and a shock tower I made. The plan was to quickly print low quality/strength versions of all the parts to test fit everything and see what changes need be made, then make better ones with better materials and switch everything. Instead I got lazy and modified everything with a drill and Dremel tool, and I'm going to see how long these will last . I've already made most the changes to the designs, just don't feel like taking it back apart.

Well, I took my stuff out of the car once back today from Vosgienne RC 2023, and RC car event in Tendon, Vosges, France...

As usual, I went there with a few cars, and many of them actually ran during the event...
H0FSOq6.jpg

There was many discussions around 3D printing, just like last year, but probably more, as more and more people are aware of my work (and the Super Wheelie Mitsubishi was quite a good topic/discussion opener)

There was some Super Wheelies at the event (those car were quite frequent in France, there was even race categories for those cars)...

A very nice 6x6 prototype made of various parts and home made body...

And for the rest, many many GP cars that actually ran...

Lot of fun, many discussion, runs and some broken parts (a servo saver, a diff (my own mistake : the carter was not closed and a small foreigner object came in), a few screws lost)... Servo saver and Diff are already replace and the Hunter run again. I will need to resupply some M3x8 button head screws, as I don't have any remaining...

For me, sanded all hard plastic parts and sprayed them along with the Abarth body.   I think it turned out fine.  I will continue working on it this week.  :D    I will upload work in progress pictures on instagram in a bit..  I need to take a quick breather as I've been at it all day today.

Interesting alternate scheme for this Abarth @Willy iine

Thanks. Yeah, it's going to be quite a challenge from here forward.  I have a theme in mind, and I've been airheadstorming how to go about the roof.   :D  but at the end, it's going to look great... with hope..

Not today but yesterday, maiden run for the Mad Van. I had good fun, and so did my wife seeing it in action. The van is nice and punchy, handles very well, while still keeping a bit of a goofy vibe. Perfect! I love it so far.

I can tell right away i needed to get rid off Tamiya ESC on this one, SuperStock BZ i believe its a bit to powerful for it so feels more like  Audi Sport Quattro S1 470hp 1985 (that was some crazy days!) 😅

Man, looks gorgeous @Yoshimitsu  nice job!

@simalarion great to hear the 1060's working out.  Hope you get to try it out outside soon!

For me, made and finished Billy's platform, seat back, roll cage, and a bunch of squares today.. and I even went to the office for my money making gig in the pm, so it was a full day.  I'm going to spray the parts I made tomorrow and start the roof.   Wish me hope..

Absolutely unreal work @Yoshimitsu round of applause!

Sold this today, sad, but need the money for other projects, I wasn't using it, and I've decided my collection has to only include models that can be driven by me or my kid. So, that'll be, err none then...

Farewell sweet Alpine!

In a moment of madness I ordered a Kyosho Mini Z Jeep Wrangler today.  Now that the weather's turning very autumnal and the nights are drawing in I will be able to get my RC fix in the comfort of my own home 🙂

I saw that you had some when I was doing my research on them. I love the scale look they have. Really looking forward to getting it and having a tinker with some upgrades.

Today i have been browsing Tamico and found a Kyosho kit that i have not seen before and looking at the Chassi it seems pretty sweet, not sure about the colour though

https://tamico.de/Kyosho-30643-Optima-Mid-Worlds-Spec-Buggy-60-Jahre-Kyosho-Limited-Bausatz

That’s the one that was just released yesterday.  The color is a special mix and Kogawa-san mentioned there is instruction on how to make that color.

Mine will probably be gunmetal.  B)

Wow… i like m03 quite a lot. Like it more than m05….

IMG_8844.jpeg

M03's rock man..  I love mine.  Honestly speaking, this is the best FWD platform of all time from Tamiya.. (just me).  But mine eats my M05's (including my Pro version) for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  B)

Only down side is I can't fit a Billy in my MiniCooper!

Yeah, they drive phenomenally well; I am super impressed.  The oil dampers are probably the only mod I'd recommend, lights are cool but I had to mod the body a bit to block light bleeding from the side and hood.  I think if you put like black gummy sealant or something thick and black on the the back of the LED's that will help significantly.  I used aluminum tape and black enamel.  I got like 99% of the bleed under control so I am happy about that.   The only issue is I can't turn the lights off  from the transmitter..  it only blinks or full ON.    They should've made channel3 fully on/off at the end points.

For me, going to work on my 1000 TCR first starting with brush painting the engine bits and Billy's torso.  I hope to get to Billy's face by end of the day.. really depends on how busy I am with work.  B) At least I don't have to physically be at the office today.  I was there 2 days ago and it's really exhausting a huge waste of fuel for my car..

Thanks for the advice.  I was looking at the carbon frame rails, brass steering knuckles and rear rings to try and bring the centre of gravity down a bit, as it sounds they are a little top heavy with that hard body.  Also potentially look at slightly larger wheels with better tyres at some point.  I’ll wait and see what it’s like first though - I may be happy with it straight out of the box.

What dampers did you get?

Sounds good.  I run the Kyosho oil dampers on mine.  Which reminds me, I've still have not received my Defender..

These cars have super articulation and running larger tires will rub the fender arches.. and if you raise the body that might defeat the purpose.  I am happy with mine how they came out of the box + oil dampers.   I have 2 Rubicons and one Jimny APIO version.   I removed the spare tires on my Rubicons as they kept bottoming out while taking on steep inclines.
