A Sand Hopper is a great thing! If you have access to a 3d printer ive freely shared the files i made to put a Monster or Blitzer beetle shell on mine: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5371722
If not then perhaps it can give you some ideas for how to build the body mounts by hand, the 3d files can be opened in free programs like windows 3d builder to check some measurements if needed.

As for what i did today: 

I took my ORV Ranger out for a first drive.

First zipping around some cones on a gravel football field (thats soccer to you hamburgers out there) and then driving on some wet asphalt and through a bit of grass.

I was surprised at the gentle throttle management it required to not just spin out, it seems quick even with just the silver can and the turning circle is great.

First test spin today with the escort, motor superstock BZ is to powerful so i rarely went over 50%, if i was to fast it just spin around but part off the reason may be the slicks on wet asphalt (nice weather today but not dried up) i probably should put on the tires Andreas on this forum suggested (loose on picture )(?). Need to find a nicer tarmac spot for this one & postal racing, i thought i had a spot close by but turns out there are far to much cracks & bumps because roots pressure from underneath the tarmac, it would probably work for Top-Force & maybe the TT-01E.

Thanks! - I had a look at the files, although I have no access to a 3d printer, it still gives me some pointers on how to do it.

Today i remixed and printed Lunchbox and Midnight Pumpkin 2-in-1 COMBO body mounts.

Since ive modded the chassi that came with my lunchbox to become my Midnight Beetle im down to one more stock CW-01 chassi, specifically the one i got when picking up a Midnight Pumpkin.

I love the look of both and decided i would make the two bodies easily interchangeable on the same chassi.

To this end i downloaded body mounts for both and smashed them together, with a bit of manual modification for ease of printing.

Ive printed these in TPU A95, whatever that means, i think A95 is how hard/flexible the filament its.

As the parts are flexible they can be rotated without loosening the screws to switch between Lunchbox and Pumpkin modes.

I haven't been messing with RC stuff much lately. I've been preparing an aquarium and that has taken most of my focus lately.

I have made some attempts to get my girlfriend into RC here and there, and one of her biggest issues is that she's left handed. I had bought her a Remo Hobby crawler, which is a knockoff of an Axial. It had a neat transmitter that could convert to left handed. The issue was the lack of receivers available. After a bunch of Google-Fu, I found a now-discontinued transmitter called the Ikonnik ET4, which can be converted to left handed. I found a used on with 4 receivers on eBay so I gave it a shot.

It works surprisingly well! I had a 1060 esc kicking around that was missing the jumper for the brake mode which is exactly what I needed for a crawler.

Next, I get to do this to her Traxxas rally.

Unfortunately not much time for RC today but I did a little, recently I had purchased another Superstock RZ motor, not really sure why but I did. Since its just been sitting around collecting dust, today I figured I'd put it in something. I thought since its the high rpm motor the most fitting chassis to put it in would be an F1. So one of my F1s got upgraded with the RZ, a hobbywing 1080G2, and a flysky noble receiver . Now all four can collect dust together .

For me started the XM1S chassis and got most of the chassis done. I will be doing dampers tomorrow and hopefully the ESC and receiver will arrive early next week.  While I wait for the electronics, I plan to make the body mounts as the Xpress mounts do not line up with the pre-drilled holes of the Mini Cooper body. 

The XM1S is a super watered down version of the XM1 Competition.. at like less than 1/3 of the price what do you expect.  I realized while building the kit it did not include the critical feature (roll center adjustment found on the Competition) so I ordered the hopups.  Maybe the Mini Cooper body will cleanly fit without it (I have 4mm hex hubs), but just in case.

I know this is a Tamiya Forum. But the OG Rustler is the most important RC in my life. I need to obtain an original. I guess I look back at the MSC, Kit, clear shelled Rustler is my Avante/Egress

If you replace the undersized wheel hub bushings and weak servos, they make for pretty good runners. Also, the old nylon plastic doesn't crack like Tamiyas ABS.

I took it to the same dirt patch that ruined my "rally" TT02, other than gear mesh trouble it drove fine!

Drove my TA07 Pro with a Porsche 997 GT3 RS body for the first time today. The body are missing a few things like mirrors, light buckets and a wing before it's finished, not sure if I want to use the kit wing though.

For me, finished the XM1S for the most part less electronics as they are still on the way to me.  I swapped stators on my 17.5 BL to 21,.5 as I do not need so much power in my tiny driving space.  The can was seized so it took a while to separate the gut.. but was able to do it without scratches.  

I finished the front custom body mount and making the rear tonight.. I hope to finish so that I can paint it black before heading to the office for my money making gig tomorrow.

@TurboRSR Your Porsche looks good!   The color combo with the wheels look excellent.  Have you thought about drawing or taping the parting lines (ex door line)?  That can add definition to your body.

I know black is a popular choice for parting lines, but unless the line is a wide gap or pronounced,  it's actually better to use a gunmetal or very dark gray vinyl.  I just make my own using a ruler and sharp knife.  

The front bumper to facia line was made using 3M 2080, and the rest was with a water based permanent Sharpie.  Sharpie is dark but not too dark (which is good) with only one pass, you can make it darker with additional passes until you get the right color.  You can redo the lines as many times as you want if you have motor spray.

What I do is draw the line, then take those precision q-tips by Tamiya and wipe off imperfections.  Once you get the hang of things it goes very fast.  GL with whatever you decide!

Thanks @Willy iine! I have thought about adding panel gaps, using a Sharpie sounds like a good idea. I have some rolls of micron tape, but since it will be a runner it will probably come off after a short time. What color and tip size did you use on the cars pictured? Your cars look great btw
