Thanks @Willy iine! I have thought about adding panel gaps, using a Sharpie sounds like a good idea. I have some rolls of micron tape, but since it will be a runner it will probably come off after a short time. What color and tip size did you use on the cars pictured? Your cars look great btw :)

Thanks, I use the Ultra Fine Point Sharpie available almost everywhere... office supply stores, art stores, even pharmacies and big name super markets.  :D    The trick is to have motor spray so that you can wipe off any unintential lines or mistakes..    and the fine point swabs (Tamiya) is great to have as well.   The swabs is really up to you, I usually buy the fine and super fine tips, but really depends which one I use based on the issues at hand.

Excellent coloration on the skin, @Yoshimitsu

B)

For me, I aligned the cambers on all four corners and finished the custom body posts and trimmed the bumper to fit the Mini Cooper body on my XM1S.  I have to say, even without the horizontal roll center adjustment the front tires clear the body no problem at my usual low riding height. The fitment is absolutely perfect.. well it is kind of expected as I have the ability to do minor adjustments while the cement dries when making custom body posts.   I will keep the parts, however, just in case I end up getting another one + 1000 TCR body.

I uploaded a few shots on instagram Stories if interested.  You can see how badly the MB01 chewed up the inner fender arch on the closeup as I am repurposing the body originally intended for the MB01 on my XM1S.     Even with the 4mm (thinner) 12mm hex hub, the front still rubs on occasion.  I did not mention that in my Story because some of my comments appears to be a sensitive matter to some Japanese folks..      they're giving me too much credit man.. I'm just a no body from nowhereland.   The body just needs minor touch up so no issue.

Once the electronics arrive I will finish the car.. but the receiver has still not shipped so it might be a few days.. unless I steal the receiver off my MB01..

@Yoshimitsu very nice!!

Finally finished the 992 GT3. The Mirrors took a few tries as I ran into old paint problems, then later onto old clear coat problems 🤦🏻 🤦🏻

In any case, cleaned it all up and I certainly don’t have a problem how it looks here and now!

Body is PS-63 Bright Gunmetal backed with an entire can of white. Black trim and plastic areas are painted on the outside with black by Hobbynox purely because it’s half the price of Tamiya and I just need / want it to be Satin in finish and a flexible Polycarbonate paint. Wheels are rcracinglegends gt3 992 oem wheels in PS-52 Champagne Gold.

Most air inlet / outlet areas I could get to are cutout and construction drywall mesh is inlayed for a touch of eye candy detail.

Have a great week everyone!

@technics Thats stunning! Ard they the 3D printed wheels?

Thank you!

That´s right they are resin, very tidy, zero re work just fine layers of primer.

Picked up this little diamond today I was supposed to pick it up last Friday but my LHS phone me to ask if I could wait until Monday because DPD only delivered one box of them and apparently tried to deliver the rest at 11.30 at night (strange one well done DPD)

A grasshopper will be arriving on my doorstep today.

I've been deliberating what color to paint the scorcher body for the grasshopper.

I'm thinking red and yellow boxart with flat clear topcoat or taking a more lazy option and painting everything light blue with gloss clear....

For me, decided to pull the receiver off my MB01 and finished the XM1S.  One word.. WOW!   This econo version still drives like a dream just like it’s Competition version sister. B)  It drives tiny like my Mini-Z but with super stability, traction, and power.

I am real happy I tried this chassis too.

Pictures on my Instagram page if interested.  #pretendRCshop

Sounds great 👍🏻

I take it it’s only possible to build in a 210mm wheelbase though? I’ve looked at other chassis’s than Tamiya for a Giulia (Rally?) body but I couldn’t find anything 225mm. I guessing there must be something out there as the HPI Datsun is still available and is also 225mm 🤔

The Xpress Arrow m-chassis is shaft driven and 225mm.  They do sell conversion kits for my XM1 to make them 225, from what I gathered at rcMart.  For me 210 works best. B)

I converted my XM1S to 225mm wheelbase using the Susumu Workshop carbon chassis kit and longer front belt. Xpress also have a 225mm carbon chassis kit, but it's much more expensive. They have the same weave pattern, so you can mix parts from both of them.

I would also like to add that the FRP chassis on the XM1S is actually high quality unlike the typical self disintegrating FRP found in most cheaper kits.

While the composite parts are no match to the Competition’s aluminum parts, they are still effective and at $125 for the kit, it is a steal.   B)

All I added were the front gear diff, 2 axle hub protectors for the front gear diff, front tower body post set (only available in CF), cheap 5mm Tamiya plastic hex hub from my parts bin for the rears, Tamiya Mini Cooper wheels, Pit Shimizu tires, and custom body mounts I made. ..and of course the Mini Cooper body.

The roll center hopups were not used on my MiniCooper body.  B)

I setup and printed myself some stickers for some Marui cars, plus a couple for @silvertriple The Golden Eagle ones I printed onto a metallic gold vinyl, everything else was printed onto a optically clear vinyl with a white ink layer.

Pulled the trigger on a new gearbox case and a pair of front struts for my shelf Queen Sand Scorcher.

Figured I could use the old parts on my Vintage runner 👍

For me today, I will be working on assembling 2 new Billy's and a platform for the MiniCooper body I pulled fresh from my parts bin.  It is painted the same light blue color as my previous photos on Instagram, but will include a Billy with different helmet color, new seat backs, and custom roll cage..

..it is possible I may change direction and use one of my M01 bodies I have painted in the past.. will see.

I saw that rcMart wanted $45 for freight for the 1000 TCR body they are selling for $28..    however TamiyaUSA has them for like $50 shipped.  :D   I am thinking about paining another body in custom livery this winter..

I am also going to trial some Tamiya slicks as I saw that I only have like 27-28 more packs of the PitShimizu's in-stock..  I need more tires.   If things don't work out with the Tamiya slicks on EVA foam, chances are I will limit my runners to just the XM1's, M-Four, and Sabre FWD.. and focus swapping tires on just these 4 cars.

Update.. so I got a lot done today despite all these unnecessary obstacles I was thrown at.. I was like what the heck man.. I'm only one person.  Anyway, I finished making the platform for Billy, his seat back is painted (still needs one more color on the back side) got 2 Billy helmets and steering wheels sprayed, roll cage for the Mini Cooper also made and painted.  I will work on it some more tomorrow, but I need to go to the office for my money making gig, so not sure how much time I will have.   Photos uploaded in my Stories if interested.. thanks. B)

Busy days for me lately, not much time for RC. I've been itching for some postal racing, but that'll have to wait a little more. I did get a good RC fix two days ago, new location and dare I say new car still, as it was only our second outing with the Kyosho Mad Van. So far so goood, I'm loving it!! Guess I'm a van guy now 😄

And I really need to get some lettering on those tires...

In a very un-Tamiya moment I finally found a Team Associated B3 at a reasonable price and condition, so I bought it, off the Bay.

Awesome, congrats!   :D  Honestly Tamiya has mostly been for comical stuff (Willy & Billy centric) for me so I can understand exploring other brands.   It would be silly not to.

For me, boss mentioned I can WFH rest of week so I was real pleased about that.

Anyway, I decided to make a dual outlet muffler and driving lights for my Mini Cooper body.  Got the parts spray painted just now.   I am going to work on checkering the roof next.. Wish me hope..

If I have any time left today, will start brush painting Billy.
