Yup, grabbed them out of a bin at a swap meet and picked up the wrong one by accident. Doesn't seem to effect performance much. I might try to get it off and flip it around in time.

That stinks, akaik that's a weak spot on TLs and most of the "brick" m chassis. You could probably transfer most of the parts over to a new M05 Ver 2.

Actially that’s what i was thinking too which I am glad lots of parts are being shared between two even internal gears… which transforms my sadness into excitement.

Right after that happened, I changed my plan on running m02 lol i will just run m02 lightly haha

After a 9 hour 3D print, succes!

The new battery/ESC tray sit snugly in the rear of the Juggernaut. ^_^
So plans now include more detailing and play 'hide the wires', so this project can be finished.

If you get a carbon shock tower for the M05, you can set the shocks up similar to the M03.

I'd keep my eyes our for an M05 roller, theres plenty of hopped up ones coming out of Japan.

For me, besides helping my wife hang her art she bought in Japan and arranging furniture, been tuning the Sabre4WD’s diff and suspension to narrow the gap vs the XM1.  :D

Anyway things are improving considerably so I am happy about that.  B)

Kid to Dad the other day:

- Dad, d'you know what?

- Noo? (Dad gets a bit worried)

- I took a saw to the Mad Fighter and cut it in half!

(Dad gnashes teeth and sighs to himself, while the wallet makes a terrified peep)

A few hours later, in the evening, the kid shows up at the kitchen table, and shows me a complete, shortened version of the DT-01 chassis ... I wasn't able to make a photo of it before he ran off to make something else, but it looked like one of those Beetle shortys, typical Tamiya Comical quality. :D A bit crude, but pretty clever given the materials (wood, screws and bolts) he has. He was able to fit the electronics inside, too, so he drove it around in the kitchen.

Starting work a little later today, and Ive pulled my shoulder so no gym time which was originally my plan. So cracked on with some RC.

Got the Egress decalled up. Servo is on order, then I may actually run it, the undertray means it should stay clean ish?

Also "finished" the BBX. It needs tyre glue then itll run. Ive not got the driver in, or the window netting, or all the lights but yea.

Theres what 30 years between these two if you take into account the original Egress? They look like theyre from the same era IMO. That must mean Tamiya have nailed the BBX as it looks so old but is modern?

Not today, but I got close to finishing my "FF-05" build - unfortunately I cannot put together a build thread, as the forum throws errors with some pictures...

For me today, going to wash the gear diff I took off my Sabre Mini the other day. it's using like a 500K+ weight so it's going to be fun (?) cleaning it out..    It's stiff.. like a hair short of being a spool and it worked great on high traction surface.

I am currently running what feels like 10K weight.  I did not mark the bags so don't know for certain... sometimes I mixed weights so not sure exactly what I used 5-6 yrs ago.

After I clean this out, I am going to assemble using 5K weight.

I have to go to the office today for my money making gig so I only have limited time.. and since I'm kind of old, I am scheduled to get my latest booster shot (covid) today so I will probably need to sleep in tomorrow..

@Yoshimitsu - does your painting scheme possibly have something to do with smoking (Marlboro)? :) No matter, your masking skillz are top notch.

Is it Marlboro or TS020 theme? :D

For me, got out my money making gig early, got my booster shot (covid), and now charging my LiPo to try some tire sauce on my old tires.. hope they revive.    Man, the needle they used for the booster felt like they used a frikken straw..   before the needles were so small I didn't feel anything, this time it was like a bee sting.

With the spare parts Rustler I picked up, I also got a "Radient Reaktor" brushless esc and motor.

I had assumed that it would be old, worn out junk, also I had assumed that it'd be fairly tame with its molex plug. So it'd be ideal for my Torment.

Instead...it's fast, VERY fast, as in now my Torment will top out somewhere in the 30s. This automatically makes it into a "park and track only" truck. But not only that, the throttle modulation is very poor, or it at least doesn't negotiate well with the throttle limiter on my controller.

Rather than yank it out and throw it into something else, I've decided to the Redcat into my "here wanna try?" Rc, it being slow, good throttle modulation, and capable of going almost anywhere.

I got out for a little bit of boating on Sunday morning, and some Traxxas UDR time on Sunday afternoon.

More excitingly, I finally got my other 1:1 car back, after a little bit of work turned into a lot of work, and 75 days off the road!

New lifters, slightly hotter cam, Invidia exhaust (to go with the 17% reduction pulley for the supercharger and cold air intake) and it makes the most magnificent noise (supercharger whine + cold air induction + exhaust). Such a fun car.

No pic though - the '-200 error' is back!!

Trying to get the hang of Instagram since I cannot post photos here any more.  I've been messing about with it and posted some of my rc projects there.  If interested, search "captain_vordamir".

I've managed to get the "Super Terra Scorcher" to the point where it just needs decals on the main body.  It still has the protective film on it below, obviously - my painting skills aren't that bad!

It's a top spec car now with the addition of:

  • High Torque Servo Saver
  • 14T steel pinion
  • GT-Tuned motor
  • Hard joint gearbox cups
  • A5 support
  • Ball thrust bearings and an 1150 bearing replacing all the A3+thrust washer parts as per the original release
  • VQS Hi-Cap dampers

As a teenager I ran a Thunder Dragon back in the day, so this is going to be my retro runner - souped up nostalgia!  :D

Looks good @compass.  I just smoked the glass on mine as I knew I was going to drive it outdoors and wanted easy access to clean the body after a run.     You can still smoke it no problem even though you already decal'ed it.  Just need to mask..  I've done it on other cars bodies, tinting from the inside after all was finished.
