For me, ended up spending most of the afternoon re-arranging my RC cars between the pretendRCshop and pretend pylon test course shelves.   I decided to move the MB01 Miata to the pretend pylon test course shelf along with the F104 as they are pretty small cars and can fit in small space.   I need to make room for a M06 VW Van that I purchased.. I was going to do a M08R + van body, but for the time being, Tower is being kind of silly with their 'promo' so passed them entirely and went with a M06 from another vendor.  B)   I have other M06's that drive well so I'm okay with it.

I also moved my Mini-Z's to the pretend pylon test course shelf and made room for the MID WC Worlds Spec (peppermint MID) that is supposed to ship maybe Dec if lucky.

Next step, I'm going to make wall hangers for my Mini-Z buggies and fixed height jack stands for the GF01/WR02's.   I need to make like 7 sets for the GF01/WR02 so it might take me a while..

I think I'm going to go drive my Beetles in a bit.

I’m looking forward to seeing your M06 VW Van 👍

For me, made 3 'yamori' (Japanese gecko) wall hanging stands out of styrene for my Mini-Z buggy's last night.  Going to use 3M's PosterTape to mount onto the wall so that I can move them around just in case Kyosho releases another cool Mini-Z buggy down the road.     Photos in my Stories on Instagram.  I will upload more photo's after I get the buggies mounted onto the wall.

Today, after my 1:1 drive in my STI this morning, I am going to make a backdrop (just a wall) for the small shelf that now displays my Fantom and Turbo Optima in the AkiraDesign corner of the pretendRCshop.   Then start making the 28 jack stands..   Going to drive my M06 Beetles as well.

Sorry to hear.. sounds like my $100+ mistake with the JJ WC body that I fixed the other week.

If the hobby was easy then appreciation would be much smaller, so I suppose we are in it for the glory.  B) Hang in there!

For me, drove my STI this morning, enjoyed the drive. . then worked with my wife (actually my wife did 99.9% of the work) to get the garage door app to work properly again as the openers started disconnecting from the cloud service randomly for some reason.     My wife does IT for a living so she was able to figure it out after a couple of trial and error.  👍    She does all the work that takes smarts, I get to re-caulk bath tubs..   ..actually the one I did last weekend looks pretty good..  Unlike before, I used my eyeballed with hope technologies as I do with my styrene builds and it turned out okay..

Today, going to order a few lights to wire up on my shelf in the pretend pylon test course.  Then drive my m-chassis Beetles.

Oooh, you have an STI? My wrx is a garden variety 06 model. Just did some work on it, stillnot good, going to send it to the mechanics.

Nice.  I love the older WRX's too.   I use to have a 2002 bug eye very long time ago.. thing was loud and quick for its time.  👍  I currently own a 2016 STI and 2019 WRX Limited both bought new.   I realized the other day when I took the car in for emissions test, my STI only had 15k+ miles.     The guy in the booth said he wasn't surprised as the car still looks like new.  I own other cars so none of them really accumulate mileage very quickly.

My son and I share my WRX these days between his college and my money making gig.. but he was saying he wanted to take the car full time starting 2024 so I've been thinking I should get a new-ish used car for him.. but man, used cars are too expensive so I think I might just let him use the WRX full time.. and use that cash I save on RC cars.  :D  haha    Plus, I don't want to see a crap used car sitting on my driveway... huge eye sore for the house (main reason).

Did a little more on the XV-01 and realised my R/C was spreading out around the house - decided to gather it all up and put it all back in the spare bedroom.

Now just the XV is downstairs in the utility room.

Went by the LHS, and saw someone buying a modern transmitter/reciever to get an old Clodbuster going again.

@ImALlama looking sharp 👍 I like the color.

Today I participated in the Racing by Post again. Last time I did that was June, so I can say I was a bit... rusty :rolleyes: this didn't spoil the fun at all, just the performance, lol.

It felt good to do our very own race thing again, I missed it. 20231119-165128.jpg

I think that the Terra Scorcher is a very versatile car: I went from Postal Racing to free run bashing within the same battery pack 😅👍 can't really ask more from an old design Tamiya, right?

So far, a nice relaxing RC Sunday afternoon. Just finished cleaning up the Scorchy. Now off for a little break, then I think I'll jump on the Manta Ray, which I left unattended for a while now. New servo and HT servo saver are ready to be installed.

Battery on the TS lasted long, courtesy of the Mad Van which was glad to lend his newer power pack to increase her running time 🔋🔌

Got my 3d prints and a little time so I tested fitted my various widening mods to one side of my BBX. Most of the time was spent cutting and drilling the carbon sheet for all the mount points.

Top side is stock, bottom modded, so it looks weird but gives a comparison. I forgot to put the nerf bar back on the stock side. I would like to measure rear toe - it looks like a big angle both as stock and modded (they should be the same angles so it may just be perspective).

Side on I don't think the big carbon brace/tower is too obtrusive. I guess it'll be more visible from some angles but also the body will help to hide it and the shock already does.

Some day I'll have to try out a Dragon or a Thundershot, I could use more AWD cars in the fleet and the RTR offerings are often too big/power hungry for my tastes.

For me, yesterday I was supposed to start the 28 jack stands for my various GF01 and WR02, but had some display back drop and lighting issues after re-arranging one of the shelves to make room for more Kyosho cars in the AkiraDesign corner.   It took 3 hours to determine what I need to do to improve the overall display and lighting for that section (the wiring is like a spaghetti of an organized mess in the back for the display lights and remote receivers) so did not get a chance to start the stands.

I need to head to the office for my money making gig for a couple of hours so not sure how many stands I can get done today.. but I would like to get at least one set done to get a sense of what it might look like.  I am going to use poster tape on the bottom so that it is semi-permanent on the shelves.

I got the wall mount stands for the Mini-Z buggies set up on the dry wall (allowed the poster tape to cure over night) so going to hang my cars up in a bit.  :D

I am expecting a couple of RC items to arrive today so looking forward to that.  B)

Yesterday I went out when the rain stopped to do a few laps with the Skoda 130rs / TT02SR. Despite the wet road, the SR was easy to control. The very soft tires (BQLZR amaz.) were just right. The vehicle seems to have a good straight-line stability.

It was a short but nice trip with a promising car. Further test drives under dry conditions will follow.

I did some diff "tuning" and drove this in the wet, and by "tuning" I mean shimming and packing the diff with some packaging sponge material.

It was kinda...underwhelming In terms of speed, the shocks are working nicely at least. The steering is typical TT02, poor return to center, drifting, etc, need to work on it.

Assembled my widened BBX. Electronics and body still to do so I haven't tested it yet but so far it all looks and feels positive. Nice suspension action, feels sturdy.

Mods more visible from beneath.

To space the CF and nerf bar out is an example of a place where blue anodized aluminium is the wrong answer IMO. Should be larger outer diameter black plastic, but these are what I've got! Funny how you can be bugged my the smallest things.

For me, I was able to make 12 stands yesterday, will continue on making another 8 today minimum..(need total 28pcs).  I will also wire up new shelf lights I received yesterday for my shelves in the pretend pylon test course.   That should keep me busy.  B)

Looks good with these tires B), I must say the looks of the kit tires has been putting me off when this buggy came out.
