I had a quick run with ff01/ff03 for the first time. Great cars… I really enjoy ff cars… with light tail… it is so much fun. Ff-01 has a bit more roll which i think is due to horizontal placement of the battery that added more fun…

I wish Tamiya brings back pure FF cars.

Mounted the Legacy RS body onto the XV02 to make these progress photos. Few more touch ups to make before I spray white, back it and move onto trim painting. Liveries are a significant amount more work then solid colours. I find it exciting to do them especially off beat ones :)

Took a break from my shed building to make a little display of the RC tools I got in kits.

Are those pliers made of plastic?

Gave the electrified Mugen Seiki a test drive outside.

It's plenty fast on 2S, drives smooth and straight and corners like crazy. No need for a 3S that would be too much power.

The Chinese aluminium rims didn't handle it well, need to hammer 2 back in shape, and glue the tires as those kept popping off.

Also needs some small adjustments in gear/motor mount and fill the shocks.

Overall, very happy with this conversion. ^_^

Been away from the forum for a week or so. Spent the first part of the morning catching up with this and other threads. Lots of talent, fun stuff and inspiration as usual from ya fellow TCers :)

I went for a brief outing with the Van the other day, and am planning on going back to the same spot later on today.

I still haven't resurfaced from masking the C11 shell. This time around I really don't feel like it, but rather than powering through it to just get the task done, I seem to linger and do a little every day instead. Whatever works, but I can't wait to be done and move on to the decals (love that part). As long as I don't mess it up it's all good

It is weird that Tamiya hasn't made an FF-04. If you need any front end parts for the FF-01, there are some 3d printed parts by @Pintopower via Ampro engineering.

Some people call WPL "trash", some people use them to collect trash!

I also drove the Rampage after some initial "used RC" annoyances. I need to find some gravel/dirt to really get the most use out of this thing.

I finally started building a kit after what feels like forever! Got to break in the new TinkerMat and JConcepts parts trays - Total game changer! I absolutely love the organization and parts not going off the work space. For a pre-painted kit, there sure is a lot of painting needed to complete, lol. I hope I can force myself through the process tomorrow. I wish I was better at painting so I wouldn't loathe it, but I suppose it requires practice.

They did, the FF04 Evo but its almost TRF level (missing some bits) with a price to match. Its basically a XV01 without the belt and all the hop ups.

I stripped down and rebuilt my TA07 Exo7 today, just over a year after the flood. Plugged it in, it worked for about 5secs and then smelt funny...but its been replaced by a Yokomo BD11 so this is being rebuilt for the shelf. Loads of rusted screws and bearings, but after about 4 hours of work plus new bearings and screws its actually in pretty good shape. It looks so pretty, it has pretty much every hop up (even bulkheads) so looks amazing!

Stripped down the Tamiya nitro TNX chassis.

Nothing like a well-used off-road nitro car to show the true meaning of the word 'filth'.

Edit: Ordered all the stuff I initially need to get this car moving.
- Bearings, the existing ones heve quite some play as they are well used.
- ball ends and caps, the existing ones are very worn.
- Brushless motor mount for the 2150KV 3670.
- 2 spur gears to replace part of the internals of the center gearbox from forward-only 2-speed to 1-speed forward-reverse.

Edit 2: Took the motor out of the Mugen Seiki to check the adjustmets that need to be made, only to find that the pinion had snapped a tooth straight off.
Ordered a new center gear and 2 pinions so I have a spare set.

Regarding the electronics and some of the mechanics ... yes ... sure ... but regarding the hardbodies ... a real good base to start from!

If I built up one of their crawlers I'd definitely run a different ESC, both for a separate channel for a two speed transmission and because their cheapo factory ESCs can be overloaded.

I've "finally" got the chassis of my recently acquired "Dark Impact" assembled and some "goodies" added:

DT-03_01.thumb.jpg.4432bf958536250d629be84e45207ef1.jpg

DT-03_03.thumb.jpg.22eb1537a0392cd5a127bbe2158298c3.jpg

Blue is beginning to be a quite remarkable colour on this build. I really love the clear parts. And they're not as brittle as I feared, aux contraire! But I got somewhat "obsessed" to get all the bubbles out of the dampers. Even with the "vacuum system" from Tamiya it was a work of days.

I still don't know what it will become. At some point I wanted to paint the body in Tamiya Metallic Blue and give it yellow rims, to give it the impression  of an Avante. But I am not convinced about that. I found two funny ideas on YT:

Beetle_Buggy_03.thumb.jpg.5dbf43034d769062ee8540561062f5b8.jpg

Beetle_Buggy_02.thumb.jpg.6a14a41138912f87931c4e39a86c0d1e.jpg

I guess the red one even is a DF-03 Chassis.

Cheers

Martin

Caulking diluted with white vinegar

How is that done? Just put some caulking in a small jar and mix some vinegar in with a skewer I suppose?

How do you aplly the mixture if I may ask?

I like to reuse wheels and CA is hard to remove without damaging them so a method that works and can be removed really interests me :)

FF track time.

I enjoyed a lot. Also started to realize importance of tires… which i did not really realize when bashing around places .

Popped into the dollar store for a random browse. There was a ton of Hot Wheels on display, some of which were absolutely jaw dropping. I can't believe the leap forward that Hot Wheels took in the past few years, in terms of both quality and model production choice.

I mean, given that one is not in survival mode, can you imagine a better way to spend 1.75 $? Look at this gorgeous Alfa GTV

I was lucky enough to find this and a few more, and was very happy to drop a few dollars on these.

The occasion also prompted me to pull the trigger on something I've been wanting to do for a while: set up a skinny shell for my favourite Hot Wheels models. It was supposed to hold 10 models or so, but for now I ended up over crowding it 🙄

Still pleased with the result 😊 (and thanks Mrs. Ferruz for embracing yet another essential display of cars in a completely unrelated area of the house).
