I would but they've been glued, thankfully replacements are cheap.

I also ran the Stadium Raider earlier, I've been trying to figure out what Tamiya these wheels/tires are from.

Dynahead is one but obviously only 4 of them but I think they also come on an FJ40 GF01 I think?

IMG_0513.jpeg Posted some earlier pictures of this in the no comments section but done a bit more to it so thought it needed some words. So it’s a 1/6 scale RocHobby 1941 jeep that’s been demilitarised. The roll cage is brass tubing soldered up to make it strong. The motor, gearbox etc is stock. It runs on 3s. It is currently owned by a retired helicopter Jock who when he goes out takes precautions in the form of a Thompson Sub machine gun and an M1 carbine. It’s very boggy where he lives so it’s running 2.2 GMade beadlocks with a combination of Monster beetle spikes on the rear and WT01 fronts and on the trailer. In the trailer are a couple of axles for a future project, a powered trailer.

So I stayed up well into the early hours this morning to get this finished. Must admit I was very impressed with the MCI Decals

Experimenting with multi media trying to replicate the feeling of the original lamps. Really pleased!

Painting the Merc AMG GT3 today for me. No decals, it's all painted and not done the accessories but the main body is getting there.

There's people on this planet capable of doing that sort of paint job, meanwhile, I messed up spraying Tamiya Smoke this morning........

The paint work on that Merc body is absolutely incredible!!

Today I've finished my little Blitzer Beetle to Stadium Blitzer conversion project.  While I'm really pleased with the results, it sorta reminds me of my first pair of Reeboks; They looked so nice I didn't want to get them dirty.

Also, I was curious if other stadium truck bodies might fit this chassis.  Well, much to my surprise, these two appear to fit almost perfectly.  The wheelbase and width are spot-on.

Not that I'm keen to replace the SB body shell at any time.  Still, it's nice to know there are options -- maybe for a future build.

That looks gorgeous! It really takes me back, I loved mine so much. I’ve seen the body and parts available on Tamico and it is calling to me. The closest I’ve got so far is designing a paint job in Forza.

This afternoon I attacked the decals on the M08 Europa, all looked over by chief designer Elsie

And this is how it’ll look on the track, at least at first!

Not a great sticker job but I’m happy with how the paint looks. It’s a shame the red doesn’t come out in the photos as brightly.

I still need to rebuild the shocks to help with the ride height. On the race wheels the chassis is barely 3mm off the ground. They were built as per the instructions with a o-ring spacer which it could really do without.

That looks amazing!!

I'm not a gamer; My last computer sim was F1 2001.  :o

However, much time has passed (obviously) and apparently technology has advanced (understatement) and if it's possible to create images like this from a sim, I need to look into it.

It was a sunny weekend with time for RC cars. Been driving my MF01X (BMW 2002 turbo) for a while now, including a little competition with a friend's MF01X (Trabant 601). I also drove my fast TT02SR, this time with my ancient Peugeot 406 body, until the tyres got hot. 🙂
Finally, there was a premiere: my freshly painted "Asterion" body made its first appearance. After years of having no interest in this body, I am now quite happy with my alternative paintwork. What do you think?

Decided to convert my XV-02 to an RS as it only ever gets used on road.

Some parts arrived this morning.

Whilst not a Sim, this is a run of the mill Xbox game, not even the latest in the series. Its astonishing some of the detail that can be achieved. I have some great liveries on Gran Turismo 7 that match my RCs. The talent some people have is incredible

I agree that MCI decals are usually very good but they are far from perfect.

For example, on the GT2 sheet, the red stripes above the left side quarter window have been omitted.

Also, the hood pin decals are missing from the sheet.

For me, this wasn't a deal breaker but it's probably worth mentioning.

No way, I never noticed the red stripes not continuing until you posted it!

Finally finished up the Hotshot re-re, using some of the more authentic sponsor stickers from MCI.

Super Stock RZ motor powered by 8.4V Gold Power battery B)

Gold wheels for shelf duty and I've got some other combos planned for running.

Lo-res pics because running out of allocated space and TCPhotos still not working for me. Interestingly, the pics do sharpen up a bit when you click on them.

Yeah when you see some of the stuff that gets reproduced and you look at the tools they have to use it’s a little mind boggling.

I still haven’t gotten round to playing GT7 yet, or the latest Forza. I think I’ve fallen a little out of love with gaming in general lately.

I got back into PS5 for GT7 in August when they slashed the PS5 price in the UK. I'd been an Xbox guy since PS2 until then. The latest Forza is terrible, Im enjoying GT7 mind. Its my first since GT3 A:Spec, which is my favourite game ever, and the reason why Im buying so many 90s JGTC Tamiya's. Castrol TOMs Supra & the Pennzoil R34 are just :D and now I have the RCs

Shock mods.  An idea stolen from others…

I bought some cheap pen springs on Amazon.  4mm OD x 10mm free length x 0.5mm wire.  I also got some that are 0.3mm wire but they havent arrived yet.

The intention was to increase the length of the piston rods and insert this spring internally to act as a Droop Spring.  This will shorten the shock by 10mm at rest, but will allow for 5mm of extension.  The idea is to prevent my CC02 axles from slamming down on the shocks when they fully extend.

So far so good.  With the long end, I get 84mm eye-to-eye.  This can extend to 89mm.  I ordered some #19894293 piston shafts.  These are 3.6mm longer than the #19805917 that come standard in the CVA short shock II kits.  This will help me get back some of the lost length.

I will update…

ETA - i should add a 0.1mm shim on the bottom end of the spring so the tail doesnt gouge into the internal plastic bottom of the shock body…

So, I rebuilt the used TB Evo 6 I bought some time ago, but it didn't have a body.

I'm not a racer, but I wanted this chassis to look like it could race.

Never tried then splatter effect before, but it was actually quite fun to try!

Big thanks to my sponsors 😉
