Now I have a full Hornet Racing Team

Now you need a black Pajero Lowrider to decal up as the team truck, and a trailer to tow the race cars with it

Electrified TNX made its first baby-steps today.

It was a good drive! ^_^
3S, 2200KV motor. Drives about 30kph and has a sharp turning circle.
Can go faster with 4S, but that may push the modded gearbox a bit too far so  satisfied for now.

Time to build it a body!

I don't think you have ever posted a more @Mad Ax suggestion than this 😉

Final stretch now! Had a few dozen indoor launches over doorway transitions to celebrate.🥳😆

It certainly moves! I am deciding and figuring out the lamp buckets. And whether they should be active or not.

Subtracting surface area for fitment with scissors and dremel. Left vs right rear lamp.

Looks great on those jumps! Been following your build closely. Love it! Alwasy wanted to paint Alen´s similar Swedish rally (no green, only white/blue/pink) livery.

What rear lamps are those off of, please?

I bought a Blue Painted R34 Z Tune shell so we played Body/Wheel Merry Go Round

First of all. Correct wheels onto the Repsol Cosworth

HbYtzZL.jpeg

I moved the Evo 7 WRC and Rally Wheels to the TA02 I bought just for the wheels above

I then put my new Z Tune R34 Body and some 2 Piece Tamiya Wheels on my SRX.

The wheels rub on the TT02SRX, but its a shelfer so not the end of the world

Blue is just so much better than box art! I know the Z Tune is Silver in real life

I may have a plan for the clear wing......

Ahh, I was loooking at that ebay auction for the same reason. LOVE that Escort livery. I actually bought the "Custom" body recently to try to replicate it, and even an L&L Cossie spoiler, but realized the front end of the car wouldn´t match and now started a rabbithole in which I need an actual Group A Escort body for it to be correct.

Also want those rims badly, as they´re the same ones the Clio used to have, which is another of my favorite kits (also, my first Tamiya RC kit I built when I was nine...)

They did run the Escort (WRC) with Repsol livery in 1997, so it wouldn't be wrong to build the "Custom" in that livery.

I'm aware. I've considered doing the WRC, but I just can´t leave that Cossie spoiler alone now.. so I´ll have to get a body and stickers for it... what livery with it? who knows... I'm not such a fan of the Escort outside of the Repsol livery, really...

I have the F150's ESC reprogrammed.  Now, the truck coasts during off-throttle -- no drag brake.

However, I've also discovered the reason the ESC was setup for drag brake mode.

Apparently, the truck's lighting module cannot distinguish a single throttle push (brake lights) vs. a double push (reverse lights).  Neutral throttle illuminates brake lights and throttle push illuminates reverse lights and I don't see an easy way to change it.

I reckon one could reach out to Traction Hobby for a work-around but I see this as minor annoyance so it's just not worth my time.

Must admit, everyone raves over the Tiger Stripe or Pilot Sport (I do own them two as well to be fair), but to me the Repsol is by far the best one for me.

This was more of a marathon than the sprint I expected but the Mercedes C11 is finished! I love it, I love the size of it, the presence, everything.
There’s more than a couple of mistakes on the body but I’m coming round to the idea that at this stage you’re too close to the car, both figuratively and literally, so you see what others will miss. It’ll look good at a driving distance.

I really like how mean it looks from the back. So cool.

Finally, after always dismissing tyre writing  as being a bit “instagramy” I think I might be now sold on it. I’m going to look up a white paint pen!

One final shot of Elsie meeting her newest rival for my affections. Even she might have her work cut out against this one.

Now to patiently wait for the dry weather to come, probably around 2026.

WOW!

This models wasn't on my radar but having seen yours, and how great your car looks, I'm thinking about this now.  :)

Used buggies for a mission of mercy, taking my son and a friend of his driving while my wife administered emergency amateur relationship counseling for the other kid's mom.

Fortunately, Kyosho re res are tough. Came home with two adobe buggies.

Thanks! It’s a great kit, I’m seriously considering buying another one.

I stole most of my ideas off of @TurnipJF

His, along with @Pylon80 @Chris.B And @Ferruz build threads have been an absolutely invaluable resource through the build.

did some testing with a 3D printed multi-part mold of a Marui Hunter Prototype body that @silvertriple had drawn up in Fusion360. The Body has under hangs along the side, so a one piece mold won't work. For this test I used PLA+ for the mold and 0.75 mm for the body, the next test I will use ABS for the mold and body.

Frequent question that is asked on TC is can the SRB handle a more powerful motor.  I propose a new question, can a more powerful motor handle the awesomeness of the SRB.  The answer is NO 🤣

My SRB has ruthlessly murdered 2 sport tune motors and her latest victim was a team brood 13 turn black can motor.  This motor is designed for crawlers so it was the built in fan.  That still did not stop my SRB from taking its life.  😉

The method of death, was heat.  The first 2 sport tune had the rear plastic cover on, so I assumed that caused things to become very toasty.  On both, one of the brushes broke off and melted itself into the plastic end bell.  With the teambrood motor, I left the rear cover off so that the fan could do its job.  The motor survived the first pack at the beach on the first day.  It nearly survived the second pack on the following day as it was near voltage cuff off when the motor quit.  The destruction however was much more severe. Like the sport tune one brush broke off embedded itself in the plastic end bell. The second was surrounded by a gooey mess of plastic / what was left of the fan.  All of the armature copper were covered with black soot.  The heat was also sufficient that the enamel paint on the can can easily be scrapped off.  The ESC was not very warm, so it was not working very hard or being overloaded.

I have pictures to post, unfortunately this site remains challenged with respect to attachments. I keep receiving an error message, or unrecognised and reach kb limited when there is no attachment.   spacer.pngspacer.png
