Ran a couple of batteries through the GF-01or at least the daughter did.

1st pack was the old one and it lasted only briefly so think I need to accept that’s for the bin.
2nd pack was new and whilst maybe in my head it definitely made the car feel/appear punchier.

Anyway whilst much fun was had the GF-01 is now sporting a lightened body!

GF-01 Land Cruiser

Still, a lot of the time today was spent like this mind…

GF-01 Land Cruiser

Couple of takeaways from todays run.

Body posts need cutting now. They took a beating on a few roles and don’t want to risk the stressing the mountings to chassis.

It really doesn’t like to run straight. From above the wheels are definitely toe’d out so I’ll bring those to ‘zero’ or slight negative I think and also reset servo etc and start again

I think the tyres could do with inserts. Possibly linked to above but they can be seen to deform so a bit of support might be useful. On that does anyone know of suitable ones for the Lunchbox wheel/tyre combo it’s running?

Other than that I think the beaten up body can stay for now. Tells its own story and I’ll source a new one for when the time comes.

Great photos and a great way to spend sometime outside with your daughter.

I used these foam inserts for our LB, seem to do the job!

I don’t remember them coming from China though.

TNX shell: sprayed it with putty primer yesterday, and finished the first wet sanding now.

It feels much smoother, but needs more smoothing so next up: another putty layer.

Ran 2 packs through the Frog this morning, then continued the fun with the kids on NES.  Little do they know that tech has evolved quite some in both hobbies :D

Thanks. Was indeed a nice morning. Long may she want to spend time messing about outside with dad and toy cars!

I’ll give those inserts a look.
Tempted to see how the 2.2 Schumacher Truck inserts on the DT03 feel although I’m speculating they won’t be ‘tall’ enough.

Put the Blazing Blazer and Toyota Hilux into their new clear plastic storage boxes, very happy.

There is even enough room for the radio gear and other bits in there as well, easy to stack and looks much tidier.

The BB has been in a Big Yellow storage box since September 2017, with the very occasional outing for the odd photo 😊

Very much a spray and pray affair with that one!

Did miss it planting its nose into the ground on landing and rolling off into the grass however 😂

You've got three of them? Crikey. One of Tamiya's 2 or 3 coolest cars IMHO.

Slightly sad face, but mostly happy face at your continued ownership of one.

Completed & uploaded my second Vlog - Dream Tamiya Japan Holiday where I was at Tamiya HQ & met Mr. Tamiya!  Makes me smile looking back at it.

@Man1c M0nk3y - tyre foams ... DustyFingersRC mentions Schumacher U6541 tyre foams in his Lunch Box upgrades video. I am keeping them in mind for a future build. Gotta love that colour on the GF-01! :)

Those are the ones I am currently running in the tyres on the DT-03 and was speculating on trying.
Guess I need to stop speculating and give them a try especially considering the DT-03 is in bits at the minute anyway.

As for the colour (assuming you do mean the daughters GF-01) it’s a Core RC colour.
Pretty sure it’s CR617 Neon Pink.

Was bought/painted a good while back now.
Goes on pretty thinly and needs a good few coats if you were thinking of trying it in something.

Back aches have been stopping me from doing much RC related, but I managed to run the "Turbo Taxi" for a bit.

Was on Buyee looking for something else, ended up bidding on a NIB BHM Hotshot 2 and won it for about £110.

Working on the TB04 Pro as the servo mounts arrived today. Just waiting for the TRF 418 stabilisers to arrive and then I'll start on a body.

It took the better part of a year to find the time [Enter excuses here], but I finally "upgraded" my Egress with some blue rod ends...
