Brown/maroon (copper in this case?) is my favorite color for those desert buggies. Well done, excellent work!

Oh I don't know, even a Teddy Bear needs the bad words bashed right out of them! Looks too good to baby.

Sadly I found out it's quite nose heavy, so tends to dive on jumps, and also I accidently (glitch or just not paying attention?) drove over the side of the BMX track into another part, which was a little fatal to the steering horn.

Looks like you need a servo saver to protect your servo saver!  :D

Worked on the RC10CC.

-Built the shocks.   Remembered how much I hate having to pinch the shock's shaft with a rag and a pliers while I twist on the plastic mount.

-Built the wheels and tires.    Remembered how much I hate trying to line up the 3 holes for the allen head fasteners.   Pro tip:   Assemble them without the tires and thread in the fasteners into the nylon parts as a way to pre-thread and make assembly easier with the tires.

Waiting for bearings to show up for the transmission.   Was half tempted to buy a stealth off ebay.

Been a busy spring, I am panel lines and some rear detailing away from being done. Weathers gotten really good so here’s some dramatic summer feeling pictures of a near completed Tamiya Honda Civic. Pretty happy how this looks!

It’s a simple TT02 roller with semi slick tires on RPF1. A lot of test fitting and spacing for the body height and stance to sit just right. The headlamps are layers of textured decals and transparent paint. Trying to hit that realistic target I’m always after - “is it a 1:1 car or a completely functioning rc!” :)

Paint is metallic green backed with blue backed with black. Trims are painted from the outside in PS5 black.

The Oem markings on the body and wheels are self made and outsourced printed at a shop.

Spent part of the evening in the garden, running Socky the crawler (CR-01) - not so much crawling as rollin' and tumblin' in the too-long grass and the daisies. It even did a few wheelies. Good fun for the kid (and dad) on its first outing. Finally declared it a "done" project since I sorted the cables, secured the esc and receiver before going outdoors.

Cool name @JimBear.

Our monsterized CR-01 is called 'No Lid' because it doesn't have a shell. Well, it has one now but I've yet to paint it!

Finally cracked open the Candy Green Grasshopper and got a good start on it. Sealed bearings, 15t Retro Sport motor, waiting on a few other pieces I ordered.

Finished the MST MTX-1 and took it out for a spin. Quite a fun ride! 17,5t motor is a bit low powered for this. Perhaps I should try 3s lipo or 13,5t motor.

I thought I found another gem on Yahoo auctions, a DF-03 chassie w/o body but with hop-ups (blue fasteners, blue alloy turnbuckles and dampers, slipper clutch, one-way option).  However looks, or in this case low res photos can be deceiving.

Bad News: The chassis was all scratched up (new chassis are cheap so no big deal).  The rear ball diff felt very rough and had no grease.  Apparently the diff balls have tiny flat spots on them.  The blue alloy turnbuckles and shock caps were weathered and scratched up.  I never knew the anodized blue could weather away to such a lighter shade.

Good News: As mentioned, a replacement chassis is very cheap.  The slipper clutch and spur gear was in good shape.  The dampers had only cosmetic issues, all of the inner workings were fine.  My LHS actually sells blue alloy shock caps and lower seal caps so I picked up a set.  The rear diff was taken apart, thrust bearing, drive cups, screw and nut  and spring were all okay.  Found a set of ceramic 3mm diff balls on Amazon.jp and went back to Yahoo auctions and scored a set of new diff plates and plastic housings.

Wrench and Wallet: Took apart the front diff, all was fine so I cleaned everything with IPA and reassembled with anti-wear grease because I wanted the front diff action extra-firm.  Took apart the dampers and cleaned everything up.  Replaced red o-rings with blue x-rings and used damper grease during rebuild with new alloy caps.  Got an alloy turnbuckle set and went ahead forked out some coin for a full set of blue alloy cvd's.  Rebuilt the rear diff with ceramic diff balls and new plates and used  Axon Core diff grease.  Suuuuper smooth action now.  Finally finished it off with a JXT 110MG servo 16t modified motor and a  HobbyWing 1060.

I'm going to spring for a new Dark Impact body set and she'll be ready to hit the road.

You run after your children from one event to another while you feed them ice cream of choice and hot-dog when they want.

Also everyone is dressed up waving flags

edit: google 17.may Norway.. its quite 🤪

Sounds like fun. I forgot that Norway is a monarchy. National day seems always be with way more "pomp" in a monarchy. Our national is only a day off. And in autumn. Even if it's straining, enjoy your day!
