And I see at least 3 Kyosho Burns. I get soft hearted wen I see that.

There was more, the pictures were taken early in the morning and more people came later with other cars...

Here's some action shots of the Stampede from the other day, I think I have it fairly dialed in now (as far as you can dial in this chassis), unfortunately Kimbrough servo savers aren't as "heavy duty" as they claim to be.

99% prepped up for tax ready to drop off my my accountant to work his magic 😳

A quick blast around the garden with the Blitzer scratched my ‘T’ itch today.

Kiddo & wife  back from Mancs, so time for some adulting now!

T time now beckons tomorrow after family stuff 😂

Today I finally installed the lights on my Datsun 240z Fairlady. Here are a few photos of the new beauty in my fleet. Have a good week everyone!

Edit: The only thing I have to complain about is the very thin rear section. I have never experienced that before with Tamiya bodies.

Added yellow.   Hobby shop is out of PS-29, ordered 2 cans online.  Def needs more pink.

Is this just 'flicked' on with a brush? Reminds me of the sort of bodies I used to see on the track in the early 90's. Looking forward to the final result.

I finished off my TT01E Euro Truck build today. The chassis was already done, so it was 'just' a case of doing the body - but this is the first time I've had to actually paint a body. I think it came out OK especially as I wasn't after anything fancy. The paint job looks OK from a distance, but there's a couple of areas that could have been better. My thoughts on the process:

1) I couldn't get the supplied front window mask on to save my life, so I ended up using masking tape instead. That seemed to work well.

2) I did about 4 layers in total of the red and gold, and backed it with silver. I think I should have done thinner coats, but more of them. I used a complete can of the red.

3) There area  couple of quite recessed areas, e.g. the bits that stick out from the back of the cab. These weren't easy to get with the spray. I think I just about got them covered though.

4) I like the decals on this - there aren't many, and they are pre-cut. Happy days.

5) I didn't do the best job of cutting the body, so there's a few rough edges. My totally-not-a-copy-of-a-Dremmel rotary too will be arriving soon so I can go round it and fix the dodgy bits.

6) I made the body post holes too far back, so needed to cut quite a lot of the fronts of the wheel arches off.

Overall, I think it's worked out well. I will be cutting the body posts down to size once I've made sure everything else is OK and I don't need to adjust the body height.

absolutely.   when I was a teenager doing this in the early 90s, I would use brush paint usually, and a brush and flick that way.   i'm using the spray paint now and soaking the tooth brush head and then flicking that way.  my only disappointment is some of the opacity of the yellow.  i don't know why it's not going on more opaque.  i'm heating up the can with warm water, and shaking for 1 minute minimum.

appreciate the compliment.

i'm stuck in the 80s and 90s.  :D

Most of the influence is from art, new wave music, and 80s bmx culture.   someday i will own my grail bike, the 87 Kuwahara Bravo Pro in paint splatter finish.

I can relate to that. I loved the 80's as a kid. Would go back in a heartbeat. BMX's passed me by though, but the clothes, music and RC cars were great!

For sure, simpler times.   Less chaos.  More culture, more unity, everyone was just having a good time!

Now my BB is up and running, the plan is to do a little bit of detailing, including painting the driver and then after that it is to simply enjoy driving it.

I’ve got some hop ups in my spares that might make their way into the BB in time, but I’m in no rush to dismantle it or too make a never ending project out of it, time is always limited and easy fixes work better for me than big tear downs and restos.

I’m trying to work out in my head, what to ‘T’ next, there’s a reasonable choice lurking under my daughters bed and in the guest bedroom!

It will really come down to which model needs the least money spent on it to enjoy it, Kiiddo 4 is flying to Dallas to start Uni in August for 4 years, and whilst thankfully she has a 100% scholarship, there will undoubtedly be an few large hits to my wallet 😭

So my choices are -

NIB Grasshopper

NIB MF-01X

NIB MB-01

NIB Lunchbox

NIB Kyosho Beetle

Unfinished TT02D

Unfinished XV01

Unfinished Sand Scorcher x 2

Various vintage models need some tinkering  - Ranger, Hilux & Super Champ.

Leaving just the Blazing Blazer😳

Oh and there are a another couple of Lunchboxes 😂

In my life outside of Tamiya, I am highly organised, logical, capable and skilled, however it all turns to 💩 when RC is concerned 🤦‍♂️

So really I should perhaps pick up the Ranger, as this is Zero cost and prep it for sale, whilst finishing either a Scorcher or the XV01….

Good to see you enjoying some T time @Grumpy pants 👍🏻

Hummm decisions, decisions, I would naturally suggest the Scorcher next, but seeing as you’ve just finished a V-dub then I don’t think there will ever be proper balance in the universe until that XV-01 is all done & behind you 😉

Hope you have enough left in your wallet though for a visit to Dallas for some BBQ Ribs 👍🏻

I think you’re right on this one - I’ll pick up the XV until I need to spend any money on it and then the GH can come into play.
I’m hoping I’ve got most of what I need for both….
The plan is for me take Kiddo 4 to Dallas, fly on out on a Saturday, return on the Wednesday, still fine tuning but likely to be this or close too it anyway.

TBH it’ll be beans on toast for me after that as kiddo 1 is staying on @ Uni for an extended masters and I’d like to continue to help her where I can.

I ‘thought’ I had everything I needed for a budget friendly GH build once, then some nice shiny Parma Nerf bars came up for sale by a fellow member here. Well then it also ‘needed’ some shiny aluminium wheels covers to go with them. It’s hard to distinguish between needs & wants sometimes, you know how it goes 🤣 Well worth it in the end though 😁.

I’ll be heading to Dallas myself near the end of the year too. My son who’s over there’s very likely Parents in Law are currently in the process of moving from Dallas to Memphis. It’s certainly true what they say about everything being bigger in Texas that’s for sure. All the best for your No.4 she’ll have a ball.

Nice!  I had a white ‘85 Kuwahara Bravo with green mags.  Not mine, but just like it.  Hmmm, maybe I need to do a tribute Hornet shell….

Yeah that would be awesome.  A white and green Hornet would be interesting.

I like mixing the hobbies.  I have a 87 Kuwahara Magician EX which I restored in 2011 to blue and pink.   It was OG dayglow yellow and black.     In 2019 I did a 87 Haro Master build to build the bike I would have LIKED to have as a kid.  :)

The master is where I came up with the colors for the Tamiya 58025 Golf Group 2 racing I built.

My teenage years in suburban America was Tamiya R/C, BMX, listening to Posion and Motley Crue, and a Kathy Ireland and Alyssa Milano poster on my walls lol

I had a Hornet and a Blackfoot, eventually I got a brand new RC10.   I briefly had an Associated 12i pan car.   Which I wish I still had.

Cutting down and gluing rally blocks together so they fit in M chassis wheels is almost as bad as cutting tamiya stickers!

Today I switched all my cars over from my Futaba 4PM wheel radio to my new 4GRS stick radio. My first stick radio for 30 years. Already feels more natural in my hands than the wheel radio.

Today......fixed a couple simple issues with my TT-02R for this Thursday's club race on carpet......the front shaft bearing was a 10mm not 11mm and had too much play....pulled the diff cover and replaced it with the proper size.

Also pulled apart one half of the steering rack to remove some additional play and tighten things up.  I also added a ProTek motor fan as I noticed we were running a bit hot after the last couple races even with a heat sink etc.

Then I turned my attention to my old AE TC4 and pulled all the old and worn 27mHz electronics modified the motor mount to handle a Tamiya Torque Tuned front bearing (I have another spare NOS motor mount for regular sized bearings), I have a 1060, new servo and receiver on order to run it in our "tub chassis" class when I feel like something different to my TT-02.  Might as well for <$120 in additional new parts....

Spent my memorial day finishing up my Top-Force EvoB). I spent a around 6 hours total cutting out all the decals and applying them using the soapy water method, I think the final result came out really well. Also got to run it for the first time and it was quite pleasant but feel it really needs a superstock or brushless motor to liven it up.

I did a few tweaks to the Redcat Volcano and ran it, they're not half bad all things considered. They just don't jump that well (or I'm just a bad driver), they tend to go nose down a bit.

Beautiful job on that Haro. Prices on vintage BMX stuff got stupid with covid and put my building days to an end. Now you guys get to deal with me HA!
