Some would say I have a problem with RC tires. Might be, but otherwise I couldn't have done all these tire variations:

Happy Birthday! 🥳

Oh I remember those days of just turning 40 when things worked properly and you didn’t have to think when you take the dog out “I’m I actually going to get tired if I go this way” and I’ve just bought a new car and the first thing that ran through my mind was “is it easy to get in and out of?”………when did that suddenly become the number one priority when buying a car:wacko:?

Yesterday we ended up on a National Trust day out on the south coast so of course it was a great excuse for some RC run time, which is always in too short supply.

The Team Associated RatRod handled off road and puddles with ease, 2s lipo rips in this thing but the 2WD limited its fun… a crawler of some sort with an hours run time would’ve been better suited to the long walk and young daughter wanting a go 😊

Been a while since I’ve been anywhere near anything rc but this weekend I decided to build my RC10 I must admit I’m not a fan at all of the scanning the QR code for the build manual so I used the RC10cc as a reference point and the manual which is exactly the same but the build is far better because the plastic is far better:)

I was going to go to the VW show @ Stonar Park in Henley today, but decided to smash out the DIY for the 2nd day running.

It would  have been nice to go, but I’m delighted with the progress I’m making with the ‘honey dos’ list, however my wife adds new things to the list much quicker than I can cross them off.

Anyhow just treated myself to a blast around our garden with the Blitzer, so all is well in my RC world 😂

Sounds like we married the same wife.

It's dry outside, and the electrified Mugen Seiki still owes me a test drive, so I'll do that now. ^_^

Lol that's what WPL does for some parts of their kits, that's just cheap. Nice job on the bodyshell.

Speaking of WPL, this thing is close to being "KM'd" or what not. I'll have a review up once the metal front axle is in. It'll also likely be my last WPL.

My ultimate goal is to have the gold of the livery working together with the gold of the metal parts, enhancing and complementing each other without crossing the line into becoming kitsch, overly eccentric and tacky (a risk I can easily foresee, with all that gold bling at hand). In order to achieve this, I expect a situation where less is more, but it's going to be hard to hold back with two full decal sheets to choose from.

That sounds so cool. I’ve been collecting little bits for a while but haven’t brought the car yet.
Happy 40th! That was the year that brought me here after my wife brought me a Dark Impact.

Today was weird. After about 4 years of autumn here this strange bright ball appeared in the sky!
YqXAE1M.jpeg

After throwing rocks at it for a bit and praying to the Old Ones to return us to safe and dependable gloom and rain I decided to try and make the best of it and get some painting done on the Durga.
Unfortunately, I must have been overawed. I just couldn’t get an idea straight in my head. I kind of know what I want to achieve with my white, purple and gold scheme but I’m just not sure where to start. I spent over an hour just staring and rough sketching, I thought I was going to use the decals as a masking guide but that’s not going to work. In the end nothing got done. I’ll have to try again another day.

Found some time to work on my "Endurance Racing" TT-02.

IMG-20240602-212907526-HDR.jpg

Finally I bought proper Crimping Tool, so wiring will be on totally different level than previously.

I know some people dislike the TT-02, but I think it's a great looking chassis, especially with some 'blue' on it.

And, I totally approve of short, neat wires. Good job!

John Player Special themed Turbo Optima

That's exactly why I bought a second body and two MCI jps decal sheets when I bought this car back in August 2020. Still all NIB and to my surprise you're the first person I hear having the same plans. Not seen any pictures of a Turbo Optima in jps Livery either.

Aside from ease of access a major priority is something that’s not dinging, pinging or beeping at you for no apparent reason every 5 minutes. Speedo, and fuel gauge is about all I want now, and electric windows of course, they are nice to have.

Started assembling a Bear Foot Clod Buster in white/red instead of the traditional blue. It’s a mild modded build. But still stompy fun!

I am not sure if I am huge fan of TT-02, but I have to admit, that it is super simple and main parts are so cheap, that I can run it without worries.

If one day I will decide that I do not like TC version, I can always keep expensive spares for my B version. So it is like "Win Win" situation.

You’ve hit the nail on the head with that! I part exchanged my car for that reason it was always informing me of different things it was doing or recommending I did:mellow: most of the time while I was on the motorway and couldn’t act on any of them<_< but the final straw was telling (sorry informing me) to “switch off my ignition to save battery life” while I was doing 70mph on the motorway…………time to get rid I thought!

Finished cleaning up the Evo II- replaced the Philips hardware with hexes, swapped out the ball diff/one way for TT02 gear diffs, printed some wheels and damper stays (still some 'tuning' to do on those) and stripped the anno off some old generic dampers and hit them with a silver Sharpie for some "Poor man's TRF" clones. This one's a very back-burner project, but sometimes things pop up for sale you just can't ignore... or at least that I'm too weak to ignore.

Today I've been mostly designing small parts for my Boomerang and printing (orange) mockups.

20240603_230804 20240603_230643 20240603_230815

The idea is that one day soonish I will have the capability to cut these parts in carbon fibre sheet by CNC, so in the meantime I'm printing mockups to test dimensions as I work through the design. One of the next steps is to design a replacement chassis (sides and base) that'll take bell crank steering and battery in from the side keeping the base fixed.
