Very nice. The crimper is on my short list of "gotta gets"

I recommend to buy good quality tool, as always.

Previously I bought it for around 5 Euros and it was... bad. Current was around 30 Euros and work is so nice and fast.

Once you will learn how to use it and find correct force setting for connectors you use, it will be like 5 minutes per connector.

Well it’s official - I’ve surprised myself by getting to 55 today 😂

Day off work, presents with wife, late breakfast with mum, maybe, just maybe a little ‘T’ time later on today…..

At 55 you're allowed to say no if they want to give you the bumps.

Yep, steering posts, there are a few more blue bits later on too 😁

I haven’t bought any extras though this time like I did on the XV-02RS, not to say I won’t later on 🤔

Got couple builds done today. TF-2(.5) and Optima Mid, both runners. The Mid was a bit challenge. It was really hard to fit the esc (HW 10BL120) and wiring. Also the stickers were annoying. But I got it done eventually. The Mid is fitted with the Yeah Racing alloy essentials kit. Might add some carbon later.

I'm having a really busy year with work and raising my 3 daughters but today I finally found myself a few hours of hobby time.

I've mostly assembled an XM-01 with a few choice Hop-Ups and a Yaris GR body to finish. Enjoyed the build, there were a few quirks but it feels every bit an expensive chassis (mainly due to the TRF dampers and CVDs)

Not looking forward to wiring it all up! It's very cramped already and I haven't even fitted the dust cover yet.

Well I made a complete mess out of what I had planned. I wanted to paint a white strip on the hood with black outlines but the black stripes I painted chipped a little when I test mounted the body. So I tried to repair it and the paint got under the tape lines. Ticked me off enough to scrub what I previously did plum the heck off. I thought I did a decent job with that until the green went on and revealed some misses.

Funny thing about RC bodies and me. When I was a kid, I had skills to paint but not the patience. I ended up rushing through a paint job just so I could get the car up and running. Now that I am older and have the patience, my skills have all but Elvis'd their way right out the door. My hands shake too much and my eyesight is not good close up. Honestly I am not happy with this but I guess it's the nest I can do now. I will start the stickers tomorrow.

Sorry to hear it didn’t quite go to plan @Rinskie, feeling for you mate.

Looking good in the green though, it’ll be even better with the stickers on 👍🏻

I think it looks fine, I can see where there's some paint around the window where it doesn't belong, but that's still better than most of my paint jobs.

In other news, I finished installing all of the metal upgrades for the WPL C74, axles, bearings etc. It wasn't what I'd call "fun", I had to fight missing hardware, incorrect instructions, and now that everything's done the wheels wobble a bit like it's drunk.

I plan on test driving it tomorrow and watching it fall apart in about 5 minutes.

Sometimes it just doesn't go to plan ... then there's always plan B. :) I think the colour looks really good, and with a few stickers on it, and perhaps toned windows if you are up to that, it'll look the part. Weather is not really cooperating, so I can't get on with my own painting yet. Willy is sitting on the workbench, complaining about the coffee and whatnot (the little pumpkinhead!) so I am hoping it'll turn for some sun, so that he can get out of the house.

Upgraded my CC02 with axle mounted servo mount, injora tyres on beadlock rims, metal propeller shaft, carbon steel rear drive shafts, universals on the front, alloy front knuckles, alloy damper mounts front and rear.

Also put a roof rack and light kit in the G500 body.

Still a work in progress. Still making mistakes. The water and dish soap I used to help place the rear window sticker left some sort of cloudiness under the sticker. Note to self, don't do that again. Anyway, took it out for a quick run in the grass.I like the Suzuki body much better than the FJ45 body that the GF01 came with.

Fitted skid plate.   I think I've got enough paint splatter.   Now to figure out how I'm going to paint the rollbars.

I think I'd rather have a GF01 over whatever is underneath this thing. It sags to the side, the wheels wobble, the diffs don't feel right, but its held up for more than 5 minutes. It's just nowhere near as robust as a Tamiya. I dig the rollbar/back lights on your Suzuki.
