Bought a Dyna Storm bargain which you will hear much more about once it arrives in the mail. Went to see an Editors concert in Antwerp

Smashed my boat into the rocks at the boondall boat club.

Yep it's toast :(:(:(:(

Just got it going really well with bigger props, motors & esc's. It just turned left by itself at full noise and i was only around 3 metres away from the rocks. Smashed the Fiberglass hull & split it in half up the front. Damage all the way down the hull .

It landed up in the trees. A new Hull has been ordered but still a very costly day. I just happened to purchase a good deep V a few minutes before from a boat member before the crash so i still have one boat but have to buy a 4s battery for it. <_<

Maybe its the Photo but the damage don't look that bad . I think that hull is repairable if your handy at working with fiberglass . IMO I certainly wouldn't bin it just yet. If you can sand the crack back to form a grove and then clamp it you will be able to apply some cloth and resin . The nose section can be repaired by using florists foam to get the basis shape then glass over it .

Its a bit of work and a messy job but well worth a try .

Finished my TL01 rescue project.

Stripped, re-greased etc. It was super cheap for the chassis but needed love.

Added;

Axial 20T motor

2s Lipo (small)

Hop Up Tie Rod Set

Already had a few upgrades, inc small alloy shocks - rebuilt, sealed etc by me

Cheap Beetle shell - worked better than expected

Mtronix 20 ESC

Savox Servo

Metal bearings installed

Overall for the little money spent to rescue it, im very happy.

So far..

Soldered a load of connetors to motors and ESCs - about time, i had a spares box full of escs with cut wires :(

Installed wheels and the electrics into my RC10 Team Car shelfer resto - just the body to cut and decals now :D

Washed, polished and waxed 3 1:1 cars - now i'm crackered :( :( :(

Add onto that..

decalled the RC10 Team Car shell

painted Wild One driver base, and started on the helmet

Will be glad to see these two projects finished - can finally clear some space on the desk for the next project

Gathered the required parts to build my nephews a Baja Champ TL01B. Massive thanks to Nigel on here (can't remember your username sorry!) the bodyshell you supplied is a massive help!

Does anyone have any tips on cleaning old, dried mud off the chassis? I can get hold of a compressed air line which should blow out all the dust and grit, I'm thinking a cheap toothbrush for the muddy bits?

This looks like an interesting project. Any chance of more pics and maybe a build thread, along with more details on the shell?

Well, I went out today to sort the cables on the TL01 and trim the front arches as the tyres were fouling them a little. Thought id give it a little spin and check all was well:

So, a wee blast about, and it resulted in this: :(

So, looking to replace the wheels. They measure at 2", but most I see for sale are 2.2"... I assume this should be ok and the tyre should stretch over?

That's a 1.9 road wheel, probably why it broke. They appear to be a drift wheel, so it's not the sort of load they are expected to have put through them!

Plenty of beafier 1.9 wheels around buddy.
