Finally hobbled together the footage from my first proper test run of the Falcon I got up and running. 4 hole discs and adding some weight on the back of the tub to simulate the old AA pack and absent MSC servo really sorted the rear suspension out!

I treated myself to a chocolate éclair, as my friend (singular, noun, as I have only one) told me yesterday my FAV had got a feature in RC Car Action this month!!

I'd posted it in the Readers Rides section of the website and they evidently liked it enough to give it a spread! Didn't know that was a possibility!!

These days I've been bringing the Hornet along to a beach that I hold very dear. Other side of the pond, on the Adriatic sea.

I've spent most of my summers here up until my mid '20s, first as baby, then as a teenager living all the usual sweet first experiences, then again as a worker/party goer/trouble maker and whatnot 

It's no coincidence I come right back whenever I have the chance to visit, along with local friends and the lady, but bringing an RC car is definitely a first.

It's also a dog friendly beach which adds to the fun, unfortunately I wasn't able to capture the funniest situations as the basic remote I have here is just too small to allow me to hold the camera without being in the way of the throttle. Still, we're here for a few days so there will be time for improvement ⛱

The rims are N° 22077 from Tamiya (super cheap, 7 or 8£ the set of 4? ), and the great thing is that they're 1.9 inches in mounting diameter. You can put any CC-01 tires you want around 30mm width, and so much more from aftermarket manufacturers... (This last point costs me lot, to be honest )

So the first Neo Falcon I found was a little rough, despite looking good from the outside. I tore it down for a full cleaning, hardware soak, and rebuild, and was happy to find nothing broken and no missing or out of place hardware - and nothing extra after the rebuild! I had planned to remove the paint except RCECHO has failed to deliver on the magic Tamiya juice. So, it looks pretty good white as-is, and it's likely going to end up for sale as I don't need two Neo Falcons, so I set it up nicely RTR. I did swap out the motor it came with for a new and proper (for the time) 540-J motor, which I like the look of. I also treated it to a new bumper and fresh set of wheels/tires. I left the arms and chassis tub alone, as it's original and doesn't have the newer recycle can stamp on the bottom.

I got myself a second XV-01 today. I wanted something competetive to run in the postal racing during the winter,  but I saw that the one I already have had been too nice to fill up with snow on an almost daily basis. My brother has picked it up for me (he is living well 3 hours away), so I saved the postage. This is getting the ESC and motor I used to run in the other. No nonsense 1060 and YR Hackmoto 23t with adjusted timing.

I might upgrade to CVAs and a 540 some day, but for now it's set up box stock:

This is a sand viper? Mine came with different wheels or am I missing something here

Fighter Buggy SV is 58553, but it does use the same stickers. SV is for Sand Viper.

Gearbox, arms, and dogbone progress on the Wild One. I can't say that I've built any other RC kit that teaches you how swing arms work.

Key word being "teach", I might be getting more of that from this one kit than my time of patching up RTRs.

Most of the build has been by the book, except I added a small teflon shim to the gearbox by the diff washer/bushing, and 3mm regular nuts to hold the back end together vs serated. I didn't like the idea of serated nuts chewing into abs plastic.

Sorry @Grumpy pants I drilled 5mm holes through the centre holes on the buggy wheels I bought off you 👹

This enabled the 15mm hex extenders to secure through the wheel now and widens the track on theStadium Raider which was very very top heavy, this might help stabilise it a bit?

I also need to remove the 3100kv motor as it’s just too fast, contributing to the whole unstableness at speed on 2s!

Off on hollybobs to Rhodes next week for a week of water slides with the little one ( and big one - me!) so this will be tested later in Sept, can’t wait as I love its new stance.

It's painted both inside and out. Twice on the outside. Three different types of paint was used, I think. White paint on the inside just melts into this goo. Red on the outside crimpled and flaked off. Black paint beneath the red needs a lot of scrubbing but it's coming off slowly. I've been using Revell paint remover and just switched to nitro fuel. I need a tub of elbow grease for this.

Battle rages on but the body is now slightly cleaner. And I think I found fourth type of paint. The windows are painted on the inside with different type of black than on the outside. They don't behave the same.

I don't think I can get it here in Finland. I've been using nitro fuel and it is working but it just takes time. Soon I'll whip out the cotton swabs and get into the grooves and notches.

If you're talking about the tamiya flange nuts, they should be easy on the plastic by spreading the load wider and shouldn't ever turn against the plastic.
