I think the rear wheel arches will help save the inside of the body shell from gravel rash and damage.

I am not sure, but I installed them at the end.

I did the one thing I said I would never do to my MF01, upgrade it but I did anyway.

Very neat @chris.alex 👍🏻

Thank you! This is of course primarily an option for lighting that is not controlled via the transmitter.

I basically spent most of my Saturday driving these two RCs, and sorting out a temperamental Castle system in my Stampede (ended up going back to brushed and driving the snot out of it).

The Traxxas Rally is a fun car as long as you have space for it, and don't mind it scooping up rocks/pebbles like a dust pan.

The LT10SW was fine out here, not much junk got into it despite being more of a lower racey-design.

It’s as if that garage was built with Giulia’s in mind to fill it 😃 Very nice 👌🏻

Can you recall what red paint you used on the red one? Tamiya used to do a limited edition paint called wine red but is long discontinued - looks darker than PS2 unless its a trick of the lighting/my cruddy phone screen

It's PS2.  It's backed in black so perhaps that why it looks a little darker.  Lighting isn't great where I have the diorama at at the moment either.

Yesterday I made the soldering and today I made the vertical servo mod and made basic ESC calibration. Just now the Ruddog made it's first signs of life. Now tidy up the wiring (I have got a crimping tool now, so no need to have a snakes nest anymore) and then it's the first test on Thursday (the first day in the coming week without this windy slush weather we have now).

Got my pepperpots wheels back, re-anodized in a much better color. Still not matching the elusive Kyosho Gold, but this is a contrast that I don't mind and that I can work with. Feels much better now, though any feedback is appreciated as my eyes are now saturated!

So you mean a crimping tool to do servo connectors? If so, what tool do you need? Mine are all really long and I end just zip tying them up in bundles.

Need and need. Until now I have either ziptied like you do  or spun it around a pencil and heated the insulation to make a small  telephone cord look-alike. The ESC compartment in the XV-01 is tight. Especially with such a big ESC like the 10BL120, so this time I don't want to fill it full of cables. I am therefore gonna short the wires for both the ESC and the servo.

I have bought this.

I bought one of these ages ago and haven't yet plucked up the courage to meddle with a servo, for some strange reason. So I continue to wind wires ineffectually around pencils and then shove them messily into little corners, sometimes using the same pencil.

Thanks for the info on the crimpers chaps.

I 2nd this. Crimpers have been on my short list for a while now. Maybe I need to shorten it even further.

Today was a good day. I made a little more progress on my TT02R chassis swap by installing a new Hitec D625. The original iteration of the car had a Protek 140 pulled out of my M08. The 140 bugged me as it wouldn't always center and the splines on the output shaft were off a little so the only way of centering the servo was through the transmitter trim. Also the servo was twitchy and notchy. Turn in was erratic. I wonder if this is why I hated my M08??? Anyway the Hitec servo is butter smooth and seems fast enough for this old man's eyes. The control arm was easily set to 90 degrees without any trim. I also picked up a set of 26mm wheels and tires which is a first. Up till now I've just been using the 24mm the kit came with. The wheels were for the '97 Subaru and I feel I was lucky to find them. The only thing left to do now is decide if I want to put the Torque Tunnel and 1060 in or pick up something like the Juststock 17.5 while they are on sale. Not sure about any gearing adjustments I'd need to make if I went with the brushless though. I love this car.
