I spent a least an hour or 2 doing r.c stuff this afternoon, which was really nice as I haven't done anything since before Christmas.

I decided to finish putting the Savage back together before I take anything else apart!

Sold my new Pumpkin project tonight and some bits and pieces as well.

I'll get another Pumpkin when I've dealt with the back log of Tamiya on my shelves.

Blew up my ansmann Xbase 2.0 charger. Was charging a NiCad and the screen went blank. I think either the battery pulled too much voltage, or the damp in the garage got to the electrics. It's toast now anyway, just a bit annoyed as I feel like I've just flushed £55, as I've only had it couple of years, and it probably didn't to more than 30-40 charges :(

Did some more work on my half track bodyshell, and am trying to sum up the will to do some more on the grapple skidder.

Be careful - some of the MSUK bunch should be in padded hospital wards...

Already lost patches of hair this morning reading a thread where people were complaining about the fragility of the WR8, only to have them reveal that they were barrel rolling it into cement walls at full 3S throttle. If you're breaking body mounts and upper arms because you're sliding into full throttle impacts upside down, your car isn't fragile, you're driving at speeds beyond your ability.

Funnily enough I didn't no :)

Ohhh interesting :)

Well today I started my lunchbox, I got the electrics in the chassis and finished assembling the gearbox so quite a productive day really. It's just a shame the weather is so pants as I am desperate to get out and drive something :D

Just watched Punky Brewster, Girls will be boys. :-)

I like the way they masked the logos from the box when she unwraps it but as she walks to the kitchen the Tamiya logo is blatantly visable :lol::lol:

I just finished applying decals to my Tamtech BMW GTP:

I also found a new image-sharing website, and realized that I need to resize my images before I upload them! Sorry, everybody :P

It was my first project using decal setter and softener, and everything turned out very well. A few decals crumbled, but given their age and my last attempt (which had me pitch an entire sheet!), I am pleased. Excess bits hanging off the wheel wells, etc. will be trimmed once the decals set properly - hopefully, overnight as it is 2:20am here!

Now I need to locate an overcoat... and then my dreams of running an M-striped Tamtech will come true!

Today I made a start on turnigy sct, I have to say for a cheap kit it has gone together very well everything fits as it should.

The diff did need a good clean before building as it was full of swarf.

The completed gearbox and slipper, no motor or esc as yet it's in the post

Are the plastic parts on this Turnigy 2WD Short Course Truck kit made from just plain old Nylon (Nylon-66) or are the plastic parts made from Glass Filled Nylon (66-EX, also called Composite Plastic) ?

I remember working on the Schumacher Cougar 2 and the original Kyosho Optima and finding extremely durable 66EX Glass Filled Nylon parts but the Tamiya kits such as Top Force were always a disappointment with their soft Nylon parts. I was wondering if this Turnigy SCT 2WD or Turnigy SCT4 4WD or Turnigy Trouper 4WD (the latter two being not available as a kit) are using soft Nylon parts or super strong and tough GFN parts?

The chassis, wishbones and uprights all seem to be some form of reinforced plastic. Like I said before it's a cheap kit and so far it's way above what I expected for the money. The polycarbonate shell looks a little thin but the replacement shell are cheap from hobby king.

Today I ordered a Team Associated SC10 decal sheet no. AS9863 from Apex Models to be able to have a model of the SCT Kyle Leduc no.99 truck with Rockstar and Makita tools logos (black, gold, red, lovely combination), I have always fancied a Short Course Truck (watching Tamiya 101's video of the Traxxas Slash being bashed with mind blowing durability got me hooked as well as watching the Corr / Torc / Lucas Oil Off Road races on the cable channels) and AE's SC10 with the scale looks and great livery finally made me take steps to aquire one. The decal sheet is 18 USD plus about 8 GBP postage absolute minimum from Tower or most other places (or 10 GBP plus 8 GBP postage from USA via Ebay), Apex are doing it for 13.58 GBP plus 1.79 postage. Pity it's back ordered but I am hoping that CML the AE distributer for the UK have one in stock.

However I think the price for the SC10 4WD kit is rediculous (about 300 GBP) in the UK when I can get the Turnigy 4WD complete for 150 USD (90 GBP) almost ready to run with ESC and motor and the 2WD kit is like 88 USD (55 quid!). I am wondering if I can put the decals onto the Turnigy body ;-

...the Turnigy body is 14 USD!

Here's the SC10 body (Rockstar / Makita) ;-
