That is amazing! Any reason you swapped out the bowtie grille for the 4x4x4 one?

Purely to keep the bow tie one in reasonable condition, plus the new chrome made the old chrome look worse than it really was

Been planning and experimenting with decals for my SHII this evening.

Last night I had an eBay session and bought some stuff for stock and won another Boomer :)

That looks fantastic Dave! Really liking the red chassis and F parts, black multi-links and gray accents, who would've thought a crossbreed of clod and bully chassis parts could look better than the original's :)

I took my new dog for a walk :) I am loving driving and modding this thing!

Look at the colour of that sea! Looks lovely.

Today already I have got this far in my lunch hour alone...

Box of bits from Jim-GTR (thanks again)...

1 Hour later...

Requires wing, steering servo and the king pins, currently on their way to me from Banzai (don't tell the Mrs!)

Rebuilt using ball bearings and a standard silver can for now, as it will be for the nephews to thrash about / into the nearest kurb.

Mostly impressed, since I didn't even need the manual to build it! Must have had too many of these...

I see it as: "buying it up, so we don't have to!"

Besides, I seriously doubt I could do even half as well with a similar project - it makes for some inspiring restorations!

What have you bought now David or is it a surprise?

I've started checking eBay again daily even though I shouldn't. I've been good so far this year and not bought a car or kit but as I near the completion of several models all at once I can feel my mouse finger twitching (even though I still have loads in the build queue!).

Ahh missed a chance to find a new home for my Boomer!

I was doing well last month with 4 projects and 1 shelf queen re homed.....but then 1 project, 2 shelf queens and 2 runners came to me oops.

That wasn't quite the plan, I wonder whether February will be any better ; )

Congrats on another money pit Dave :D :D :D

The Clod is Ford Polaris Silver - 300ml can from Halfrauds is £6.99, topped off with their clear lacquer (same size, same price). Sprayed over grey primer, not that i think it'd make a lot of difference given the mid silver colour.

I will need to look for that one, I normally go for the aluminium in a can from halfords. works great for the candy paint.

yeah this TC is incomplete, just need to wait till it arrives to see what the new Zealand definition of "incomplete" is. I have a top force rebuild to do so new parts have arrived for that. hopefully the bits I need for the TC will be covered.

whats your latest purchase?

It was you with the Boomer Pumpkin and some other bits wasn't it?

1. Fitted the freshly acquired spike/rib tires to the DS, masked the DS body and painted the PS-5 black. Now more waiting as i realised i ran out of PS-16 (i wonder why, after an Avante and Avante 2K1 body finishing  )

2. Stared somemore in my sparesbox for stuff that i can use on the Astute. Found 2 DS swingshafts that will do and was wondering if the TF rear upright spares i have could mean anything in my Astute project. Also found a brandnew Astute diff in my DS sparebox. The owner of which i got the DS definately also had an Astute :)

Sourced a NIB Acto Pink Motor (original with label) and also sourced a Madcap Bodyset NIB. Took 3 hours, but well worth it :)

Also desoldered my Technigold from my Madcap and soldered in my MFA RX15 and ran it in at 3.6v for around 80minutes or so under no load, being careful to watch the motor temps. Plan tomorrow is to test them side by side (gas soldering iron handy) hopefully its going to stay dry :)

I rebuilt my Striker after using a clear-coat on the body. The paint damage was not enough to keep me from wanting to get it running again:

An MTroniks ESC was fitted - with some careful wire routing, it went in:

I decided to swap my Lancia Rally's Sport-Tuned motor into this buggy - which means the other car will have a Super Stock RZ!

TS-13 Clear gives a very glossy finish, and here it was nice (even if the cockpit is not all that convincing with its sheen):
